So delicious. I always get a strawberry hulk. I recommend this flavor to anybody. It's more of a protein smoothie.

But the counter service is quick and you won't have to wait long. The full-size po-boys are massive. If you get a Ferty (roast beef, ham, Swiss cheese), bring a construction crew to help you eat it, or be prepared to be eating leftovers for two or three days. I love a good shrimp po-boy, but it's usually too big for me. I have landed on the Shrimp on a bun as a fantastic alternative. It's so overstuffed with shrimp you can't eat it without them falling out. And it is perfectly dressed with just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayonnaise. And the fries! Y'all, the fries are so crispy and delicious, and they also come in a massive amount. Too many for one sitting. This is a place I regularly stop at for lunch when I am in this area.

When they call your number you go pick it up at the counter. If you order a drink you can choose a fountain drink or what's in there cooler. My husband had a burger and fries. They give you a nice portion of fries. We ate there. Everything was nice and clean. Monday-Friday each day they have a lunch special. Thursday lunch special is what I had. Hamburger steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and French bread. They serve you a nice plate. They sell Hubig's pies so we had to buy each one for dessert. Can't wait to go be back!!!

Five Stars. No notes. No regrets. Elastic waistband optional…read more From the moment you walk into StingRays, you don't feel like a customer -- you feel like you accidentally wandered into a place where people actually want you there. That's rare. That's sacred. That's New Orleans doing what New Orleans does best. Now let's talk about the menu. Not a menu. The menu. This thing has options for its options. You don't read it -- you negotiate with it. You make eye contact. You ask it questions about your life choices. So naturally, I start with a cup of gumbo. Listen... I've eaten gumbo all over New Orleans. I've had "legendary" gumbo. I've had "my grandma would slap you if you didn't like this" gumbo. This? By far the best gumbo in New Orleans. Balanced. Rich. Deep. The kind of gumbo that makes you pause mid-spoon and reassess past relationships. Then the chargrilled oysters showed up and New Orleans... we need to talk. This was hands-down the least messy, most flavorful, most dialed-in oyster experience I've had in the city. Sure, there are places that have put their stamp on being "the best in NOLA." Guess what, NOLA -- you've got competition. And I'm not talking "oh look, a new place opened, hope they make it." I'm talking about a business that's been around since 1997, survived a tech bubble, a hurricane (or three), a pandemic, inflation -- and is still turning out food and service like this. That's not luck. That's standards. Petty side note (but important): They serve Coca-Cola products. Not that over-sugared flat soda nonsense. Details matter. Now comes the main event: Zydeco Fish. Let me say this slowly so it sinks in properly: A fresh fillet of fish, butterflied, stuffed with crab meat dressing, deep fried (because joy), topped with a spicy shrimp cream sauce that could probably solve international conflicts. This dish doesn't just show up -- it arrives. Confident. Well-dressed. Knows it's good. Add a side of potato salad, which quietly steals the show like, "Oh, you thought I was just a side? That's adorable." Still got room? Try the key lime pie if you're a fan. And yes, I'm over-opinionated, so here's my take: Call your Aunt Regina. Tell her she can retire her recipe. Save her the stress of the next family reunion. Then go to StingRays, eat the pie, shake your head in disbelief that you ever considered eating elsewhere, and apologize to your friends and family for not bringing them sooner. Jamie was my server -- sweet like iced tea, patient with all my questions, and didn't oversell a thing. Just a calm, confident, "This is what we do." And they do it well. And here's the real kicker -- location. Right by the airport. Which means: * You don't have to gamble your flight time * You don't have to explain to your Uber driver why food matters more than punctuality * You can land, eat like royalty, and still make your gate without panic-sweating StingRays is comfort food without shortcuts, hospitality without fake smiles, and flavor without apology. If you're flying into or out of New Orleans and you skip this place, that's on you. Don't blame the city. Don't blame the plane. Blame your poor decision-making. Five stars all the way. I'd eat here again before my luggage even hits the carousel.

The sauce for both dishes were darker, broken/grainy, and had a very strong cheesy smell. Like Parmesan. I'm not sure what went wrong. I tried to eat them but couldn't finish. I woke up in the middle of the night with a bad stomach ache as well. I won't be returning. The portions seemed very small compared to what they normally are.
