The butterfly shrimp.... It was my first time at this local restaurant and anytime I'm in the area, I'm definitely going back to get more!

Place desperately needs a renovation or just major cleaning. I'd be willing to give a nice review if they would clean up the joint.

Stopped here on way to plantations. Great place for lunch! I had the shrimp po'boy and hubby had the Cajun burger. Both were quick and good!

Came with my girlfriends a few days before. The seafood gumbo was just okay. The service was good but the building was relatively old.

When you give a menu to the customer, they expect you will not be out of anything unless you say…read moresomething. It's inconsiderate to wait until the person orders to tell them they are out of something. Think about if you were in a large party like 10-20 people and you were the last person to order but the server waited until you ordered it to tell you they were out. Would you like to have to rush to make a decision or delay your entire party? It's just about treating people like human beings that you CARE about their time. It also hurts the waitress and restaurant since the customer is taking more time to order. Longer the stay, less customers can get seated next, less tips, less sales possibly. With my sandwich situation, she knew it had something all over it wrong so she should have NEVER asked me if it was ok with me. I never served like that. My first job I was counter help at Butter Krisp Diner in Covington, LA I worked for back in my early 20's(now 46). If the food looked wrong I sure didn't still try to serve it. I had and still have a heart not to do that to anybody unlike Josie. I'm not sure why she would think I'd accept a major error? I actually CARED about my customers. I made mistakes there, but I sure didn't intentionally give someone something that I knew was incorrect. That's just cruel. Why would I risk my customer being mad at me even if it was just drive-thru that 99% of the time didn't tip that I didn't want to get them mad at me. I cared about another human being's feelings and time. As far as the owner, he's ridiculous to ask me "Do you know how tartar sauce is made?" I told him "capers." That's when he said that tartar sauce is 70% mayo. The thing is I wanted tangy sauce(the tartar sauce) ONLY on my sandwich is how I enjoy the taste. He just wanted to not remake the sandwich. Cause why else would he say these things to me?? The other manager should mind her own business about that my husband didn't eat. He was going to, but they were out of what he wanted. It's not rude to take your significant other out to eat even when you don't want to eat. You act like you had a full house when the place had 85% of the seats still available. He ordered a soft drink so he ordered SOMETHING! For some reason you don't count that. There was nothing wrong with my husband by me just cause he ended up not ordering any food. It's not "rude" to decide he didn't want anything since he couldn't get what he originally ordered. What does it matter if he ordered food or not? He ordered an item that still cost money. I can't believe you are on the owner's side about the tartar sauce/mayo 70% issue. Those 2 condiments taste NOTHING alike! It still hurts that all 3 of you are just so uncaring and mean. Why can't I get an apology from the owner and manager? Why don't you all teach your servers to write orders down along with making it a rule to greet with info about what they are out of? Why not try to improve???

But the counter service is quick and you won't have to wait long. The full-size po-boys are massive. If you get a Ferty (roast beef, ham, Swiss cheese), bring a construction crew to help you eat it, or be prepared to be eating leftovers for two or three days. I love a good shrimp po-boy, but it's usually too big for me. I have landed on the Shrimp on a bun as a fantastic alternative. It's so overstuffed with shrimp you can't eat it without them falling out. And it is perfectly dressed with just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayonnaise. And the fries! Y'all, the fries are so crispy and delicious, and they also come in a massive amount. Too many for one sitting. This is a place I regularly stop at for lunch when I am in this area.

Hamburger steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and French bread. They serve you a nice plate. They sell Hubig's pies so we had to buy each one for dessert. Can't wait to go be back!!!

Sitting right on the river, the views alone are worth the stop--especially around sunset when the water and boats set the perfect Louisiana backdrop. The food is where Reno's really shines, especially the buffet. It's well worth it--hot, fresh, and packed with Southern and seafood favorites that are full of flavor. Everything tastes homemade, not rushed, and the selection makes it easy to find something for everyone. You can tell they keep it stocked and take pride in what they serve. The drinks are cold, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it's the kind of place where you can pull up by boat or car and feel right at home. Friendly staff, a laid-back crowd, and live music on the right nights give it that true river-life vibe that keeps people coming back. But no dance floor and no outdoor seating. Well, anyway, we looked over the menu and decided to try the buffet. There was some good stuff there, and some mediocre. Apparently, the locals love it. They were coming in pretty thick by the time we left. Lots of fried seafood options (including alligator, soft shell crab, and frog legs), boiled shrimp, baked catfish, flounder, and a lot of other meat options. You don't see sauce piquant very often, so I had to try the deer sauce piquant from the buffet. It had good flavor, but not much "piquant." Had to add a little Crystal hot sauce. And the meat was tough and chewy. Needed a few more hours in the pot. The flounder was very good. Best thing I tried. The "Cajun style pork" was good, too - chunks of pork and smoky andouille with pineapple and oranges. Very good. The frog legs, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, and alligator were all good, too. The fried catfish was muddy and dirty tasting (hate when that happens). If you're hungry, this is a nice place to get your fill of south Louisiana specialties - I could make an entire meal of the frog legs and Cajun style pork.
