We snagged a last-minute 7:15 reservation at a high-top since my friend was in town, and as always, had the BEST time at Cinclare. It's one of my all-time favorite spots, so I couldn't wait to share the experience with her--and she absolutely LOVED it. Our server, Joe, was outstanding--knowledgeable, attentive, and a true pro when it came to walking us through the menu and drinks. We kicked things off with cocktails (the Salt & Pepper Tomato Martini and a Dirty Martini) and appetizers: the grillade kabobs plus the crawfish & andouille rangoons. Every single bite was fabulous. For entrées, we had the corn husk-steamed Gulf fish and the crab aglio e olio, paired with the summer squash gratin on the side. we went with high hopes after rave reviews from friends & we're let down. Unsure if it was a diff chef or just because it was 2 days after christmas. Appetizer: Pork belly was very dry (like they fried it more than 2x), crab fat salad was different but delicious. Entree: Broccoli Salad was sub par ; i love this stuff but maybe the chili oil is that's threw it off. Hanger steak was cooked well, but it was served cold. Chill, upscale yet relaxed vibe with a team that delivered excellent guest service and a chef that prepared dishes that would rival any Michelin star restaurant. The shrimp curry was absolutely wonderful. With a smooth curry broth, layered with just the right amount of spice and large meaty shrimp. The alligator "cheese cake" was...well... Do yourself a favor and visit this great restaurant in Thibodaux. We were attending a football camp and spent the week in the area. We are from Nashville, and have quite the selection of restaurants and did not know what to expect. Seriously, the service and food was unmatched by anyone else in the area. Reservations were quick and easy thru Resy. The staff truly cares about your experience. They were always prompt to ask if we needed anything. The bar drinks were spot on, and the food is absolutely amazing - everything we tasted melted in our mouths. We had the Duck Confit Birria Tacos, which were a perfect appetizer. We shared the Crab Alio e Olio, because it was amazing, as well as a special cut ribeye that our server described perfectly. Recent visit to this restaurant. After looking at reviews, thought wow must be good. I guess most reviews are from the cocktails because the food was insulting. Alligator Rangoon- cream cheese, no Alligator ( if there was some it was drowned by the amount of cream cheese) the craw fish sauce was good. Sea gulf fish.. fish was old and dirty and the rice too sweet. Too many elements fighting and none were good. Meatballs 2nd dish. Noodles -salt them give them flavor, meatball dry and over cooked - again sauce them up and maybe they would not be dry. But fix the sauce first- flavor. This place is an absolute gem! My boyfriend and I came out for the Black Bayou airboat tour (also great), but weren't expecting a fancier dining experience. The alligator Rangoon was better than other crab rangoons I've had; full of stuffing and not overly sweet. I really liked the brussel sprouts with halloumi cheese and the cocktail list was imaginative and delicious. Our waiter was delightful, attentive, and professional. Very tasty, creative starters, drinks, great combinations. I was told they frequently change their menu. For starts we had a fried mashed potato ball with a rich Dijon base dip. I had a burger (with fried mushrooms, jam and many other toppings) titled the Cinclare burger while my husband had skin fried red snapper over a bed of corn. I forgot to take pictures but both were something to behold! Our server was gracious,very detailed and honest with selections and substitutions. We will certainly go again!! Cinclare is a true local gem. I've watched this downtown historic building renovate into multiple things over the years, but Cinclare is here to stay. Famous for their signature cocktails and seasonal menu, Cinclare brings a warm southern yet eclectic vibe. The menu never disappoints and the atmosphere always leaves me aesthetically pleased. I've never ordered anything that wasn't exceptional. I look forward to dining in every few weeks when the menu changes, both food and cocktail. Local bartenders make for inviting conversation if you choose to sit at the bar. Worth the drive, this is one of my favorite restaurants. read more

Went there last night with some girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. We had a reservation for 6:15 which we arrived on time and seated immediately. At first, there were only two tables occupied so it was very nice and quiet. Before alone, the restaurant was full and we were yelling at each other. It was probably one of the loudest restaurants I've ever dined at. The service was top notch and the food for the most part was very good. The birthday girl got the lemon meringue dessert which was seriously lacking lemon curd. If you looking for a nice romantic quiet evening, this is not the place to go. It's very lively. read more

I've been going to Cinclare for about 3 years now. Every dish and drink we have ever ordered was spot on. I tell all my friends and co workers to try it out and so far no one has been disappointed. Love the small plates! Service is a 9/10. Eve though your main dish "possibly" can take a little longer, who cares?! You're already probably enjoying a good small plate and drink. Ate dinner here last night, and the entire meal was delicious from start to finish. First, the ambience is refreshing, not what you would expect when you walk into the restaurant in downtown Thibodaux. It's a little noisy, but still an aesthetically pleasing dining experience. For cocktails and wine we started with 2 Pimm's cup specials with strawberry and cucumber. Tasty cocktail! Wine list was reasonable, and we selected a Cab. The food. For appetizers we started with the crabmeat & avocado, wild mushroom toast, and catfish dip. The crab was so FRESH, and paired well with the avocado and other flavors-it looked like art with edible flowers, nice presentation! The mushroom toast was simple but flavorful. The Catfish dip was served with house made chips and pickled jalapeños-again had lots of flavor. We tried the three different salads, one with green goddess dressing, one with beets, and one with feta. The green goddess dressing was on point. Entrees we had the prosciutto wrapped grouper, duck confit, and veal. The fish was fresh, and the flavor was sealed in by wrapping it with the prosciutto, and served with potatoes that were sliced and cooked to a perfect crisp. The duck was also cooked to crispy perfection, and served with garlic sausage and a reduction sauce that was light, and paired perfectly with the duck and everything else on the table. Veal was also popping with flavor, but the consensus was that the duck and grouper were the best. Who's tired of reading this yet? Not done! For desserts we had the white chocolate bread pudding, strawberry shortcake, and chocolate crime brûlée. Bread pudding was the best. Overall the meal was spectacular. One of my favorite restaurants ever. Fav appetizers: smoked catfish dip + crawfish and andouille cheesecake (!!!) I haven't had a meal that I didn't enjoy. Love that the menu is not static. Sous vide duck was so delicious. The Cinclare Burger is solid. And the drinks... always great. The Robichaux is a go-to but they make a great Moscow mule. And the wine selection is excellent. I love the atmosphere and the wait staff is always super helpful. Recommend a reservation to be sure you have a spot! My only negative comment is that it's noisy, but it also makes the atmosphere nice for a group and not just a romantic dinner- so that's a give and take. But when you are on a date, it's kind of hard to hear if you are sitting at the two seaters and aren't accustomed to speaking loudly. read more

Wonderful Fall menu! If we lived nearby we would be regulars! For starters we enjoyed Seared Scallops with a delicious curry and the shrimp toast. I could eat the shrimp toast everyday! I love redfish and that is normally my go to but the Duck with the ricotta gnocchi caught my eye. My husband did get the redfish with the smothered green jambalaya. We both were well pleased with our choices. Delicious! I also had the Fig Spender cocktail which I enjoyed. The restaurant was lovely and our waitress was too. This restaurant has been the talk of the town, so I've been dying to try it. This venue had long been a bar called The Library, with a joke that when your parents saw your credit card bill while you were away at college, they would see all these charges from "the library" and be impressed at how much you were studying. It changed hands around 2012 and became The Grey, an upscale bar that was a little ahead of it's time in Thibodaux. That didn't last too long before becoming 3rd Street Pub, named for one of the streets the bar was located on. This was more Thibodaux's scene, but was also unsuccessful. When people found out this place would be turned into a fancy restaurant, the town started buzzing. From what I've heard, it's been very successful. The head chef is Crystal Lachney, a star student that recently graduated from the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State down the road. Thibodaux is a pretty small town, so I was shocked when we walked in and told it would be an hour wait for a table due to reservations. It ended up not taking nearly that long, but we enjoyed ourselves with a couple of drinks at the bar catching up with a few friends. I went with the house Old Fashioned, made with Buffalo Trace, and I would say it was above average, really enjoyed it. My girlfriend got The Robichaux, which was kind of a rum's take on a Moscow Mule. Very good. She also got the Barts & Crafts. This was a reallt well balanced cocktail with gin, and she preferred this one. At our table, I got another Old Fashioned, this time with Suntory Toki 86. It's a Japanese whiskey that I had seen on a whiskey bar's Instagram quite a few times (Barrelproof for anyone familiar with New Orleans). I had never tried and was surprised to see it here, so I decided to give it a shot (no pun intended). It was fantastic. Cinclare has a great cocktail menu, but even more impressive is their whiskey selection. This is the only bar south of New Orleans where you can get a taste of the holy grail of whiskeys, Pappy Van Winkle. $125, but worth it if you want to drink a part of history. A local-turning-regional grocery mogul, Donny Rouse, has ties to the Buffalo Trace Distillery, often promoting their whiskey in his stores, so he likely had some pull here. I digress... We started with the lamb lollipops and the alligator/andouille cheesecake. The lamb was served with a nice garlic caramel, sweet potato puree, and what I would describe as a cornbread crabcake without the crab. My only complaints were that the cake was a little pasty and hard to eat, and that every element was sweet and came off less as a savory appetizer, though when taking a bite of each component together, it made more sense. The cheesecake is apparently one of their most popular dishes. It's definitely not what you expect a cheesecake to taste like, though I've had a savory cheesecake before and knew this going it. The crawfish cream sauce on top was good, it also had what seemed like a sharp cheddar on top. May have been better with a different cheese since the dish itself is already so bold. We then had one of the specials, a seared Mahi Mahi with kind of a fried rice, fried oysters, asparagus wrapped in proscuitto and fontina cheese, and topped with a jalapeno hollandaise. The asparagus was rich, I thought 2 were plenty. The oysters were well fried. The rice had a bite to it, on the verge of undercooked, but I may have felt that way due to the corn and peas mixed in. The Mahi was very well cooked and I could have used another bowl of that sauce it was so good! We also had the veal chop which was served with roasted brussel sprouts and what could be described as crispy breakfast hashbrowns. It was topped with a beurre blanc, a perfect accompaniment to the dish. The brussel sprouts had some type of berry, maybe cherries, mixed in. They almost blended in with the veggie because jt was married so well. The potatoes were crispy, just as I like them, but a tad greasy. Overall, the dishes seemed a bit overseasoned with salt. Shout out to our waiter, Matt L, for being fantastic at his job. He was helpful guiding our choices and was a blast to have serve us. Would request him personally again. I feel bad for being so critical of the food, but the reason is because this restaurant can stand up to the standards of New Orleans. For that reason, I give it 4 stars, but this restaurant is by far the best in Thibodaux. They are doing a fantastic job here. You've got to try this place! Last bite: veal chop. read more

This relatively new restaurant in Thibodaux has made a name for itself since it's inception. One of the things I like is the simplistic menu that changes but keeps the customers favorites several times a year. This goes the same for the drink menu as well. The catfish dip is must, and I get it every time I visit. Last time I went, I tried the double cut pork chop which was cooked perfect. So let me start with the positives...the staff was super friendly and our server was attentive. The cocktails were pretty good for the price. The restaurant was recommended by a couple of locals so we trusted the food to be "amazing". We ordered the charcuterie and shrimp toast as appetizers and both were good. For our entree we choose the gulf fish and the filet with crab. For $55 the filet was BARELY 3 oz and was mostly gristle. The crab on top was ice cold as if it came straight out of a refrigerator. The majority of the plate was plain unseasoned potatoes with a piece of roasted garlic on the side ( I guess to season them with). The gulf fish was nothing more than a plain pice of fish over a somewhat mushy concoction. We finished our plates only because we were starving and had waited all day for this meal. We choose a chocolate dipped puff pastry that was tough. As much as I was hoping to love this restaurant, it was simply sub par and DEFINITELY not worth the price we paid. I don't mind spending $250 on a dining experience but unfortunately this just wasn't it. read more
