    Cinnamon bun dessert

We stopped at Coquette for dinner on a warm November evening. The interior is beautiful with exposed brick and wooden beams. The service was excellent. We started with delicious freshly baked bread and creamy butter. We shared an appetizer of burrata with olives and shaved daikon radish. Then we had delicious fried American red snapper topped with tomato jam, swimming in a sea of buttermilk and basil and olive oil next to an island of puréed, chard eggplant. We also had flounder smothered in a creamy sauce and topped with crab. For dessert, we had a scrumptious cinnamon bun, and caramel sauce with stewed apples, and we shared a flourless chocolate cake. Delicious!

We had a wonderful meal. We had trouble deciding between dishes and our server Tyre had some great recommendations. Drinks: Autumn Eternal and Sunbather, both delicious. Bread service: the short rib marmalade was amazing. Crabmeat Maison - great Roasted cabbage with walnut and bleu cheese (I liked this more than my dining companion) Flounder with smoked trout roe - excellent Braised rabbit with sweet potato gnocchi - one of the best rabbit dishes of all time Strawberry semifreddo - light way to end the meal

Dinner in the Garden District in NOLA is a must. Coquette is the spot and lives up to the neighborhood's rich culinary reputation. We chose bar seating, and Ty and Tyree made the experience fantastic with their attentive and friendly service. The menu is bold and inventive, and the standout for me was the carrot pasta. It was spectacular, proving that vegetarian dishes can be just as memorable as any other. We also tried the crab maison and tuna tartare, which each had their own unique spin and were delightful in their freshness and presentation. There's something especially meaningful about Coquette's history--it opened in 2008, during one of the most uncertain times economically. The courage it took to start a restaurant at that time in history speaks volumes about the passion behind this spot. It's truly remarkable to see it thriving today, more than a decade later, continuing to draw people with its creative menu. This spot is absolutely worth a visit for anyone in New Orleans!

Bread with short rib marmalade and steak were incredible. Have to get the doppelgänger to start!

Food, service and atmosphere 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone in New Orleans that wants a good meal.

Beef short rib and red snapper

My boyfriend and I had a great dinner at Coquette. We started with the five onion soup which was probably my favorite dish of the night. We also had the marinated crab claws which were delicious. For entrees I got the beef short rib which were some of the best short rib I'd had recently. My boyfriend got the red snapper which was also delicious. We finished with a cookie dessert which was also nice. The cocktails were strong and delicious too. This is a great special occasion or date night location.

First time. One of the trendy restaurants so do reserve. Party of 3. A smaller space and quite lively. Great service. Note - NOLA prices are just shy of NYC's... Cocktails, dozen oysters (4 each of Little Moon and Murder Point (both La.) and P&J (Ala.)), tuna crudo, pasta, duck, seafood stew, wine, and 1 dessert. All well presented and tasty. Damages with tip and 5% wellness charge was $375. Recommended.

I went to Coquette for a private dinner with lecture and enjoyed the venue space upstairs. The space was elegant, and I love the exposed brick. The table was set neatly. The dinner had about 20 guests. There was a bar upstairs as well just for our dinner party. The food was great! We were served bread service to begin and the bread was amazing! We were given a 4 course meal menu and given 2 options to pick from for the 2-4th courses. The salad and hangar steak were my favorite. I did not care for the Dulce Cremeau desert. The service was great. The reason I took off 1 star was because the food took a long time to come in between courses. We started with bread service around 6:30pm and did not get the desert until around 8pm. Overall, I enjoyed the dinner party experience here. It was an elevated space and I enjoyed the menu options. There was plenty of space for the presenter and the PowerPoint set up. The experience was smooth and unproblematic. I would dine here again in an intimate setting to see that experience.

    Green pea shrimp risotto

Went here last night for a birthday dinner for a friend. I was excited after seeing all of the amazing reviews. I will say the restaurant is gorgeous. With such a small menu and high prices, I would expect every menu item to be good. Not the case. $12 for bread service which our server explained we would get unlimited bread to the table with. We only got one then had to ask for more, which took a while. The appetizers were so-so. For my main, I ordered the green pea shrimp risotto, which had maybe 2 shrimp in the whole dish and was lacking any seasoning. Many other members of the party also said seasoning was lacking in their dishes. When a friend asked our server for salt and hot sauce, she looked at them like they're crazy! Overall, I wouldn't recommend. The prices are far too high for the quality of food and the service is not great.

My husband and I dined with a couple of friends at Coquette and had a fun evening. This is a very chic spot on Magazine that visually mixes lots of new with lots of old, which is what makes New Orleans what it is. The decorating is spot on. The menu is small but covers all the bases. I think it's fair to say everyone should be able to find a dish within their wheelhouse. My introduction to their offerings was an aperol spritz, which was delicious, refreshing, and perfect for the 98 degree weather. We went with the bread service to start, which was, by far, my favorite part of the meal. The bread was warm, crusty on the outside, and chewy and delicious on the inside. In addition to whipped butter, it was served with a small crock of short rib marmalade. Amazing. We also had the tuna tartare appetizer. There was an over abundance of large gauge trout roe covering the very thin layer of tuna in the small bowl. I would've loved less roe and more tuna. The roe was just too gamey and overpowering. Disclaimer - I don't like caviar, so it might be a "me" issue. For my main I chose the yellowfin tuna. Our server explained that it would be prepared rare, and wanted to be certain we were ok with that. We assured her that we would be happy if it was served raw. Two of us had the tuna and each portion was cooked to about medium. Pink in the very center, but white through most. Bummer. One of us had the short rib and it was hands down the best main at our table. I will definitely go that route if we return. It was full of flavor and was literally falling apart. I definitely chose poorly on this visit. I can't neglect to mention our wonderful server. She was attentive and full of personality.

    Short Ribs

This was by far the best meal we had in New Orleans. The short ribs were so smoky and fall apart and absolutely amazing. The cauliflower and bread appetizers were also great. The beef marmalade was unlike anything I've had before. I got the seafood stew and it was good but the short ribs really stole the show. They have a ton of great cocktails AND cocktails which was appreciated by our group. The butterscotch pudding dessert was the perfect end to the meal. The service was great and the interior is so beautiful.

Was sooooo excited for their Seinfeld themed no menu dinner. I didn't know what to expect, but our Seinfeld trivia team members were thrilled to try it. Restaurant is cute and quaint. A few staff members attempted to dress like Seinfeld characters. Lol. Each menu item laid homage to something in Seinfeld. Started with the ciabata "muffin" tops. They were good. First course was a salad..looked like a ceaser but it was 1000 island dressing and soft croutons. Not great. Second course was much better..crab and corn "bisque" without the soup part...no soup for u! Cute Seinfeld reference. It was fresh and light. Third course was a tiny piece of chicken..small but delicious. Best part of the meal for me. Last was a Panna cotta with cereal topping...it wasn't quite set and was wayyyyy too sweet. Staff was nice but overall meal was meh.

    Smothered flounder

Delicious meal and great service, and the restaurant has this very chill atmosphere that's great for dates or dinner parties. We ordered a bit of everything, the crabmeat maison, the roasted oysters, and the tuna crudo to start. Hard to pick a favorite because they all had really great flavor but if you could only pick one go with the crabmeat. They source it locally and it's fantastic. For our mains we went with the flounder and short rib. So I preferred the flounder because it has this really cool crisp to it and it balances well with the collared greens. But if you like short rib, then you definitely won't be disappointed. I feel like everything on the menu here is worth it. And ask the waitress for a wine pairing and be amazed. Will absolutely come back

    Is there outdoor seating?

    Weather Permitting, yes.

    Is there a happy hour?

    No.

What is the difference between first and second floor seating?

Really, the spaces look the same, just have to walk up the stairs for one. No special difference.

Do they not do lunch anymore?/do they have sandwiches? I saw a few sandwiches online from here that looked great.

No sandwiches on the menu. The do serve lunch on Saturday/Sunday.

About how much is the tasting menu with the wine pairing?

I think it was about $115. We really enjoyed it! The sommelier brought up most of the wines and told us about them/the vineyard and why he chose that option to complement the food!

Is the restaurant better for brunch or dinner?

I have only been there for dinner which was a perfect spot for that.

Husband had the Smokey Mountain Burger ($16), medium, with fries. The fries were crispy and the burger was so good! I'm not a big burger fan, but it was cooked just right and had plenty of flavor. I opted for the Thai riblets app ($14) which was served with a small side of their slaw and the "fried" Brussel sprouts app ($10). O...M...G! The sprouts came with a side dressing of mayo/lemon/garlic (?), of which I was not a fan; eat them plain - you'll be glad you did. Slaw was great - not too much mayonnaise - but I scraped off the seasoning topping because it was too salty for me. Thai riblets were fall-off-the-bone good without being over seasoned/sauced. We finished my husband's burger then took my leftovers home. They reheated very well. It's not the cheapest place, but we felt like we got our money's worth from our meal and would totally return. There's some other things on that menu calling our names. :)
