So let me start with the positives...the staff was super friendly and our server was attentive. The cocktails were pretty good for the price. The restaurant was recommended by a couple of locals so we trusted the food to be "amazing". We ordered the charcuterie and shrimp toast as appetizers and both were good. For our entree we choose the gulf fish and the filet with crab. For $55 the filet was BARELY 3 oz and was mostly gristle. The crab on top was ice cold as if it came straight out of a refrigerator. The majority of the plate was plain unseasoned potatoes with a piece of roasted garlic on the side ( I guess to season them with). The gulf fish was nothing more than a plain pice of fish over a somewhat mushy concoction. We finished our plates only because we were starving and had waited all day for this meal. We choose a chocolate dipped puff pastry that was tough. As much as I was hoping to love this restaurant, it was simply sub par and DEFINITELY not worth the price we paid. I don't mind spending $250 on a dining experience but unfortunately this just wasn't it. read more

They take reservations. We were a little sad, but we could eat at the bar. I had the scallops and strawberry salad. The scallops had a wonderful seat on them. The salad was perfectly dressed. Food was absolutely amazing. We got the flash fried oysters as our appetizer which was excellent. For our entrees, we got the jerk chicken which was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth with and great smoky Mac and cheese and collard greens. We also got the burger which had an excellent bun and great flavors including a hint of sweetness with perfectly cooked beef. This is a new restaurant in Thibodaux featuring rustic southern cuisine with a rotating menu. Wild mushroom toast was a delicious appetizer. Our waitress was so good too, but I forgot to get her name. My husband got the short ribs, I got the burger, ( the best I have eaten in a long time), and my son got the fish. Everything was fresh and delicious. Chocolate ganache and bread pudding finished our meal which was amazing. Very tasty, creative starters, drinks, great combinations. I was told they frequently change their menu. For starts we had a fried mashed potato ball with a rich Dijon base dip. I had a burger (with fried mushrooms, jam and many other toppings) titled the Cinclare burger while my husband had skin fried red snapper over a bed of corn. I forgot to take pictures but both were something to behold! Our server was gracious,very detailed and honest with selections and substitutions. We will certainly go again!! Fantastic food, great customer service, and great atmosphere! My wife and I decided to dine here for the evening and it did not disappoint. We had the alligator andouille cheesecake and tomato crab stack for appetizers, great choices! Entrees were fish and bone in ribeye, wife loved the fish and the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. For dessert we had a butterscotch bread pudding and chocolate cake, wonderful again. The restaurant was packed and noisy, but it was exciting to be at a place in Thibodaux that felt energized. There was someone that may have been the owner, but was at least a manager that asked about our visit and apologized for the noise. There was no need for apologies to us though as we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and environment. Kudos to the staff at Cinclare! read more

My husband and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary there yesterday. It was a nice experience. The ambiance was great to say it was a Wednesday. It wasnt extremely packed, but there was a nice vibe. It reminded me in looks and vibe of Lula's in New Orleans. We started with a drink( beer for hubby, long island for me). It definitely had a Clydesdale kick to it, but Iiked it. Our starter were the Steak balls- I found them extremely salty, I took2 bites and I was done with those. My hubby washed his down with his beer. Next we ordered the Compressed Trio of Melons, Mixed Greens, Feta, Honey-Chile Vinaigrette  - it was DELISH!!!! Ir was really good. Our main dishes were Pork Tenderloin with Broccoli Rabe, Sweet Potato Hash, Fig and Port Sauce(hubby) and Roasted Airline Chicken  with Wild Mushroom Risotto, Fried Onions, Lemon-Thyme Pan Sauce(me) Hubby didn't like broccoli rave said it was bitter but enjoyed everything else. I enjoyed all of my food along with my second drink amaretto and pineapple. Overall loved spending time with my husband of 20 years. We talked, laughed and simply enjoyed each other's company with some delicious food(minus steak balls) and very potent liquor. I loved it all! I would reccomend this place. The appetizers stopped it from being 5 stars, but I would definitely go back to Cinclairs in Thibodaux!!!!! read more

We stopped in here late one night (9 p.m.) after visiting Purple Penguin. As we had to drive back to New Orleans so late we didn't stay for long; I would love to come back and have a more leisurely dinner date to try more menu items. The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice. On to the food & drinks - The Italian Job cocktail is very tasty, very well made, but I would recommend it more as an after dinner drink because of the chocolate bitters. Appetizer - the crawfish & alligator cheesecake - I was pleasantly surprised with the large portion. The cheesecake is rich without being too decadent, and very nice flavor from the toppings/sauce. Definitely would recommend this app! Entree - ordered the drum with gumbo. Drum was perfectly cooked, with nice flavor that didn't over power the freshness of the fish. Gumbo had a very nice, balanced flavor to go with the perfectly cooked drum. Good variety of meats in the gumbo, too. Unfortunately the rice was way over cooked and mushy (maybe since it was late at night?). Again, can't wait to visit here again and try more menu items. read more

Cinclare offers a large cocktail menu with a variety of interesting, good cocktails. We had the beet salad and oyster tart as an appetizer. Both were tasty. When it came to the entrees, the menu wasn't particularly exciting. After receiving our dishes, we were underwhelmed. I had the halibut special, which was just a piece of blackened halibut with a side of cucumber slices in yogurt with dill. It was bland and simple. Considering the $31 price, the dish was not satisfying. The BBQ shrimp dish came with 6 gigantic shrimp, which were tough. We expected tender, delicious Gulf shrimp in Thibodaux! The service was decent, though we did wait a little longer than expected for our entrees. Overall, Cinclare is a good spot for appetizers and drinks. Some entrees are overpriced for what you receive. read more

The alligator & andouille cheesecake was a very pleasant & highly satisfying appetizer, then for the main course the Shrimp Creole & La aromatic rice was an error I hope was just that night... The shrimp creole seasoning paired w/the aromatic rice just completely missed for me - the shrimp creole seasoning was entirely too hot/heavy to the point the tastebuds were unable to 'take part' in the experience & allow the aromatic rice to be enjoyed alongside one of the 'signature dishes' of Louisiana... This restaurant was a referral from a friend. Boy, was I surprised. The Beet Salad, was out of this world good. The trout was amazing as well. Spending life on the road has been a way of life for going on 3 decades. Chain restaurants are not an option. Finding gems is a guilty pleasure. Cinclare Southern Bistro was my first choice to consider yet arriving on Monday proved ineffective. They are closed on Mondays. I tried Tuesday - closed to a private party. Ok - third time is a charm? YES!!! Very much so. Opened up with the Pablo-crusted Sea Scallops were perfectly grilled. Perfection. Moving to the owners recommendation to the Wagyu Hanger steak with grilled vegetables couldn't have been a made any more perfect. Imagine a piece of meat, grilled and seasoned to absolute balance is only achieved maybe 10 times in a lifetime - well.... 9 to go! The cut was liquid. The expression of melting in your mouth is normally overused to describe anything from a piece of cheesecake to a date... but this was liquid. This is what all bovine flesh aspires to be while in the pursuit to provide the ultimate gastronomic experience. This did it. And while the beer proceeded to establish its place in dining history, the grilled vegetables and parsnip/garlic purée and bone marrow bordelaise proved to be the perfect compliment. A balance like no other. Ending with the Lemon Creme Puff and a cup of coffee is analogous to a fine Cuban after a fine (____) fill in the blank! This place is for you to celebrate and enjoy. After seeing reviews and getting recommendations about this place I was anxious to try it. I must say I was sadly disappointed. We had the smoked catfish appetizer, which was the best part of the meal. The bone-in strip steak was a daily special and was requested cooked medium but came out rare and still cool in the middle. At $45 it should have been cooked as requested. The other entree was braised veal cheeks with cheese polenta. The meat was tender but the braising sauce was a too salty and the volume overpowered the polenta. Not something I would order again. Basically they are overpriced for the quality and doubt I will return. read more

Wow! Everything we had was great! Mushroom toast, smoked catfish dip, and fried oysters were Brennan's quality. Then I found out that the chef trained at one of the Brennan's restaurants and it made sense. Our entrees of duck confit and BBQ shrimp were incredible. We happened into Cinclare after a party at the Foundry. The atmosphere is relaxed, but nice, clean and well-appointed. I could have eaten the appetizers only--they were that good. We had the crab and avocado stack, the alligator andouille cheesecake, and the mushroom toast. One was more delicious than the next. We also shared the beet salad with goat cheese and candied pecans served with a balsamic reduction. Two of us had the lobster mac and cheese and one had the veal chop Oscar--all well prepared, delicious to the last bite. Dessert was white chocolate bread pudding. Service was perfect. This is head and shoulders above all of the other restaurants in Thibodeaux and worth a drive from New Orleans.This restaurant is as good if not better than many of the restaurants in my hometown of New Orleans. The waiter did say that the menu was changed two weeks ago. I'm glad. The current menu is a clear recipe for success! read more

Last night Chef Quinton and Cinclare did not disappoint. Choosing from multiple specials was tough, but the Crawfish Bread app was just as amazing as the Alligator and Andouille Cheesecake or the Smoked Catfish Dip. And followed by a filet with poached egg - Phenomenal. "The Robichaux" is one of the best cocktails I've had as well. Amazing. Can't wait to go back tomorrow night.
