We are moving our stuff into a POD for 6 months while our new house is being built. This entails only needing movers to move the heavy stuff down our stairs and into our POD parked in the driveway. Most moving companies were quoting me some ridiculous numbers for something that would only take 1 to 2 hours, tops. When I called here, the quote was adjusted lower because I wouldn't be needing movers for long and I wouldn't be needing them to drive my stuff anywhere. The price was very fair. The day before our move, the owner called to confirm the reservation and give me a heads up on some details...then! Gave me the opportunity to ask if I had any questions. This impressed me again! This last time I have broken shelf, chipped kitchen table, dirt and scuffs on my white file cabinet and shelves. The wrap was torn and my new couch was dirty. Made reservations through the U-Haul website for help unloading upon our arrival in Phoenix. Somehow U-Haul couldn't find our reservation on our arrival day and said we have to start from scratch to find help. Instead, we went online and found Smooth Transition Movers directly, spoke to Alex, and he set us up with two helpers on ridiculously short notice. Movers arrived on time, ready to work. We couldn't ask for anything more from them. They handled all of our belongings with care, seemed to instinctively know where we wanted everything placed, and finished in much less time than we thought we needed (so they reduced their charge). Smooth Transition Movers is the real deal. I'm always skeptical when I read 5-star reviews but I'm about to write one to add to their perfect status. Alex (owner) Kevin and Donny provided such an incredible service that I couldn't wait to add my glowing review and recommendation for them. I told my wife that "it was the best money I ever spent today." In support of these comments let me explain. I called them based on Yelp reviews (like mine) and asked for a 'next day' crew to help load a 26' rental truck. Alex (the owner) answered and said he could help. I was skeptical but he called back minutes later saying that he could be there with a 3-person crew. As promised, he called me to let me know that they were en route. Showed up and introduced themselves. Surveyed the situation and began loading the truck. Less than two hours later they were done. So impressive! Amazing company! Alex was very responsive when I was booking and confirmed the day before with a call and a text. They showed up the next morning ready to go! Very professional and great manners bonus points that they loved dogs as our dog Charlie tended to be in the way a little bit but they didn't mind at all! I wish I give these guys more stars but I think you get the idea. If you're looking for professional, courteous and understanding movers to work with I wouldn't recommend anyone but these guys. This is why I think so highly of them. I bought a bedroom set from someone and we had a misunderstanding of the transfer of funds. The pick up was for a Saturday morning. I had only given Alex and his crew a few days notice to move the bedroom set. He accommodated us on very short notice. Well an issue arises Friday evening and I had to make a dreaded call to Alex to cancel the move. I knew he had already the job coordinated and I'm sure he had to rearrange his schedule a little to help us. When I gave him the bad news he was more than understanding and remained professional the whole time. I personally would've been pissed but he said it was Ok. I felt really bad. A few days later I text from the person who I bought the bedroom set from and said the funds went through. I now needed to find a mover to move the stuff from Mesa to Surprise. On top of that we wanted to have the furniture delivered in a few days. I had the audacity to call Alex back and he said he couldn't do a the weekend because they were booked but he could move it on Friday night...at 7 PM! That was crazy because I don't know of any moving company who would pick up and deliver that late. Fortunately for us it worked out great for everyone because of our work schedule. They picked up the bedroom set at 7 PM in Mesa and had it delivered by 8:30 in Surprise. They did a great job. I wasn't there but my wife said they were fast and efficient. To be even more annoying I asked for a bedroom set from downstairs moved to upstairs before the other bedroom set was brought in. They were so accommodating. My wife was so impressed she gave a very generous tip considering it was late Friday night. The main reason I went with Smooth Transition Movers is they are a veteran own company and we are a military family. I like to support small businesses and veterans. They gave a nice discount for military members but were very reasonably priced without it. I can't thank Alex and his crew enough. I live in NJ and had to hire movers to pack up, move and unpack my 94 year old mother without me being able to be there. Alex and the team were great from start to finish. These guys are the real deal!! After driving a Uhaul truck from Northern CA to Chandler the last thing I wanted to do was a lot of unloading. That is where Alex/ Chris come in..Chris was the guy in charge for my unload (w a helper..sorry forgot his name but very nice kid)...they came on time and jumped right in. My unload was a bit of a chore as some things were going to an offsite storage and were mixed with items that were staying. Abcd First time yelp reviews were not similar to my own. Was really looking forward to 5 star service and at very first it was, they had straight forward estimates in a professional and friendly manner. I spoke with Alex, who got the details of the move and booked the services. $75/hr : 3Men & Truck $ 75 Trip Charge $ 40 Gas Fee That's what we agreed on and got confirmation for by email but the day of the move only two guys showed up in the smallest truck they could rent, so because there was a third of the manpower missing and the truck was so small we had to make a second trip that made for a huge waste of time and being paid by the hour only worked to their advantage. because I did not get what we agreed on I tried to renegotiate the deal and the only thing they did for me was take $10 off the hourly rate! They didn't even allow for credit for the wasted time in travel and set up time necessary because of having to make a return trip. Alex knew the details and logistics, why did they rent a 17' truck!!?? the two young guys that showed up were friendly enough but only one of them moved at good steady pace the other one tired out halfway through the job and was making several trips carrying very light stuff to the truck. They showed up when they said they would and started right in. It took them 11 hours to do the job and they never even took time out to eat.
