Pork belly plate

Talk about HAPPY COINCIDENCE I pulled up to get gas in Menomonee Falls after a long morning at office. The unmistakable smell of smoked meat drew me to the Smoked @ 225 truck. The ordering system was easy and the owners/entrepreneurs were very friendly. I got hr pork belly plate with sweet potato fries, collard greens with smoked turkey and corn bread. The food was fresh, delicious and I definitely have found a hidden gem of food truck in Smoked @225. Please support this veteran owned food truck, they have great quality food for a very affordable price.

About once a year I crave BBQ. My co-worker recommended Smoked@225 food truck and figured we would check them out. On Saturday's they are usually outside of Three Cellars in Menomonee Falls off Good Hope Road. I ordered the Ribs, Half Chicken, Smoked BBQ Egg Rolls and several sides (baked beans, collard greens and yams with ginger and lemon zest). I could definitely make a meal out of those egg rolls and the yams! Get there early, as they do tend to run out. We got there about two hours after they opened and got the last order of ribs.

Pulled pork sandwich, Mac and cheese, collard greens

AMAZING. High quality bbq with a slight Wisconsin twist. Tender juicy pulled pork on a fresh Kaiser roll. The greens had just enough spice and even included smoked turkey. The Mac and cheese was extra cheesy and rich. Sandwich and two sides was a deal at $14. Owner was especially kind and joking around with customers, and the service was quick. I think they park at different sites in the Menominee Falls area, so check the website for their current location.

I'm a Bbq hound so I try it all over and I learned early on that Bbq has endless ways of cooking techniques and flavors so I'm very objective with the reviews and report what I experience so let's start this one, yah I have a favorite style of ribs but that doesn't make all else worthy of less stars. This truck is on Appleton Ave in Menomonee Falls on Saturday and Sunday, each in a different spot not far far from each other. Five people were in line as I pulled in which is a good sign. The place has been here since 11/17 and is Vet owned. The menu has all the usual suspects and I'm going for the rib meal with two sides and a mini corn muffin. Probably the coolest food truck thing I have ever seen is the pager which we were encouraged to sit in our cool cars on this hot day and return for our food when it's ready. The smoker was smoking away on the back of the trailer which is a good sign. The rib meal is 3 bones or a 1/4 rack with some tip on. The ribs were very tender fall off the bone moist, very smokey and very barky. The ribs have a nice seasoned bark that is as messy as Bbq sauce because it was all over my fingers. The greens were nicely done with bits of smoked turkey in them and nicely seasoned. The Mac noodles were cooked to mush but all the melted real cheese, no cheese sauce here kind of made up for that because mushy noodles in a cheese sauce is the worst. The mini cornbread muffin was the dry kind and hard to swallow. As always with Bbq the sides can be lacking from my experience so I don't let the sides reduce any stars and only take the meat into consideration because that's what we go for realistically. Overall this placed did scratch my Bbq itch today and I have to get back to try the other meats in the future like the brisket. If all you know is chain Bbq restaurants and you want an example of real smoked Bbq ribs with a dry rub that yields a great bark than give them a try and get the greens, it's a southern thing I'm glad is becoming more popular up north.

We were seated at a booth (we were given the choice of table or booth) and our server was there quickly. Nice young man. He took our drink orders right away and gave us time to look over the menu. My husband and I both ordered the patty melt (husband upgraded to onion rings) and my Mother in law chose French toast with a side of bacon. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. Prices were the going rate. The restaurant was in need of some repairs on the ceiling which is understandable with the heavy rain we have had. Overall a nice breakfast/ brunch.

TikTok made us do it, and we just had to get a reservation! I have never been to a speakeasy…read morebefore, so needing a password and everything just to get inside was such a fun experience. Plus, a 1:30 pm brunch reservation is definitely my kind of brunch. The atmosphere inside is awesome, with old school TVs with built in VCRs lining the walls. Our server was very attentive and super helpful in showing us the new menu. He even promised satisfaction with our Hawaiian roll cinnamon bun or he would get us something different, which was so nice of him! We came specifically to try the Dad's 2 cents Weekend Brunch. That is right, 2 cents! What a deal for a can of Spotted Cow. Just a heads up for anyone going, don't forget that you have to buy an entree to qualify for the beer special! As for the rest of our order, my wife got the Salted Caramel shake. She said it was a little too sweet with loads of whip cream, but she really liked the Hawaiian roll cinnamon buns. We split the Fried Chicken & Old Fashioned Gravy Buns. It was good, not amazing, but the vibes and the drink specials totally make up for it. Someone else in our family got the brunch burger and it looked amazing! Bottom line: come for the atmosphere and drink specials, not necessarily the food, but we still enjoyed it lots. Next time I am definitely going to try a smasher, maybe on a 99 cents Wednesday smashburger special!

We knew the password since I read a lot, plus we made a reservation and they tell you if you do. We were the second table seated in the main dining area. We sat in the Gremlin section - the whole place is a nod to 80s pop culture, with memorabilia and big screen projections of stuff like Scooby Doo and the Power Rangers. Star Wars fans will also like it here. Our service was friendly, Isabel took good care of our group. I had a mimosa to start and it was good, but not huge. They have a 2 cent beer special at brunch where you can get up to 3 Spotted Cows with each entree purchased - a bargain for sure! They also have a martini special - go to the website for details. We started with the churro doughnut holes - decadent and so, so, soooo sweet, served with whipped cream with jimmies. They were good, but not for the sweet intolerant. I had the house vegetarian breakfast burrito with bespoke veggie sausage, It was huge and good, a comfort food for sure, but no one flavor stood out in it. It was sort of generic comfort, like a hug from an acquaintance. Spouse had a new dish to the menu - chilequilies with pulled pork. He really enjoyed the dish, finishing the whole generous portion pretty quickly. Our friends had variations on breakfast sandwiches - chicken with gravy and the big breakfast sandwich, which they seemed to enjoy quite a bit. They definitely wanted to return. I hear that the tots were good. I enjoyed the place and would certainly come back if there wasn't so much competition in the market. Everything was solid, just not as special as the locale promises. You won't be sad you ate here. And the theme is fun.

Irony of ironies, we haven't been to Maxim's for several months, but have been there three times…read morewithin the last three weeks for lunch with family, and each time was outstanding for both food and service. While I don't remember what everyone had on each of our visits, I know I found my spanokopita, Greek salad and chicken dumpling soup as delicious as every time I've ever had it there before. Another time I had the half a grilled cheese with spinach and avocado sandwich and the clam chowder - again, perfect, with lots of clam pieces in the soup, and I thoroughly enjoyed this new to me sandwich. Last Friday I nearly swooned over my choice of spinach fettuccine noodles with Alfredo sauce, accompanied by a honey vinaigrette salad. That dressing zipped up a salad of mixed greens like nothing I've had before. Other entrees included liver and onions, shrimp scampi, a ham and cheese omelette, pancakes and perfectly cooked over easy eggs, stuffed French toast, eggs Benedict, and more: everyone pronounced everything delicious. We had three different servers, and all were excellent and courteous. Our beverages were served quickly and replenished, and each server made sure to check on us several times and always in a manner of genuine caring. How refreshing in an industry where service has seemed to have taken a nosedive. The restaurant itself is clean and not showy, and one of the things we all commented on was the blessed lack of music that is often such a barrier to conversation. Great job on all counts!! Well done, Maxim's. We'll be back!!
