As someone who was born and raised in Milwaukee, I've had my fair share of great barbecue over the years--but I can honestly say your ribs are among the best I've ever tasted. The smoky flavor was incredible, the seasoning reached all the way to the bone, and the tenderness was absolutely perfect. Every bite was packed with flavor. In fact, I would put your ribs above some of Milwaukee's longtime favorites, including Speed Queen, Ashley's and Double B's. That's not a statement I make lightly. My friends split a rack and I swear they nearly sucked the marrow out of the bones it was so good! He is there Tuesday to Saturday 10:30 to 4pm he says. The rib tips looked amazing on the grill and I took a picture so you could see the before and after pictures of the cooked rib rips. I ordered the meat only for $10 because the sides didn't interest at all and did my car smell so good so I pulled over because I couldn't wait to try them. The rib tips had a nice looking bark that was seasoned nicely and tasty I thought. The rib meat had that little chew that I like because I don't like the mush fall off the bone meat. The rib tips were meaty and not all cartilage with most of the meat chopped off like some places. The meat was very tasty with that bark and a deep grilled flavor that I really liked, like a backyard bbq. I really like that he uses charcoal to cook his food because it's so hard to find places that cook with charcoal anymore and he seems like a like a really nice guy and he let me take my pictures which helps his business. I didn't even use the bbq sauce because the meat stands on its own by the way. There is no bbq in the immediate area that I can think of so this is a nice addition to the neighborhood if your looking for some tasty rib tips here you go. As soon as I walked up to the window, I was warmly greeted and asked if it was my first time there. I was offered a sample (which alone is a win), and she even asked about allergies, food sensitivities, and whether I minded my food touching..which made me laugh because my sister is that person. That level of attention really stood out. I sampled the mac and cheese, greens, and yams, and while I was eating, she took the time to walk me through menu options and current specials without rushing me at all. Once I placed my order, the great service kept going, she asked if I wanted ice in my drink, checked how much sauce I wanted on my rib tips, offered condiments, hot sauce, and made sure I had everything I needed. I usually don't tip on takeout orders, but I absolutely did this time because the hospitality and customer service were that good. The food was delicious, but the experience is what really sold it for me. After having BBQ all over the country with really good ribs 90% of the times the sides are average compared the the ribs so I didn't get any sides today. I ordered the half rack that has a garnish of pickles and pickled onions. My first thought was wow they left the tips on which most bbq places chop off so they can sell for more profit. My second thought was that's a nice bark. My third thought was that's a nice smoke ring. The 1/2 rack was a proper 1/2 rack with moist meat that comes clean off the bone. They didn't have that little chew that I like. The ribs were tasty with a nice smoke flavor that has a little kick finish. I can't speak on the rest of the meat's because I'm a rib guy all my life. Overall the BBQ ribs are solid and they have a place in the Milwaukee BBQ community. Did they de thrown my favorite BBQ no but I can get really good ribs with out driving an hour. Just a note the YouTube videos that show that really good looking beef rib you're probably not going to ever get from the truck because they said the last two events they didn't sell very well and I don't know if that applies to the American Family Field location.
