The floor was dirty and no toilet paper in the stall. I moved to the larger stall, and there was a small roll placed on the top of the compartment; there was nothing in the holders of both stalls! I mentioned my observation to one of the workers and he shared that with another worker. She said "there is toilet paper, and it's in the largest stall!" I paused for a moment, and thought my response would've been a bit different. "Thank you so much for bringing that to our attention and we will take care of it right away." Wanting to enjoy our food at home, my husband had selected the greens but he said that they were incredibly salty! Checking mine, they were unpalatable. His spaghetti was so-so, and he mentioned it had a strange aftertaste. Would love to support this establishment again, but we will hold off on making another visit any time soon. Disappointed!

The jambalaya had a little more of a kick than I prefer, but my husband loved it and my crawfish étouffée had the perfect amount of spice without being spicy. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection and was the perfect way to start the meal. Not pictured is the bananas foster bread pudding that was the perfect way to end it. The snow crab was the standout for me, so good so juicy! Shrimp is a classic must, potatoes and corn were yummy, and the mussels were 10/10. Also, the corn bread was A+++!! If you can't do spicy or just don't like heat, don't let that stop you from coming here because you can still have a great meal. Price point is also really reasonable especially if you're sharing. The setup for taking food to go is easy and convenient, and there's a hand washing station in the middle of the restaurant which is practical. Only heads up is parking can be tricky on weekends so just plan for that. Workers were super friendly. Would definitely come back.

The meal came with a cornbread muffin. Their soft drinks here are canned and with one and tax my bill was $17 and change. The prices here are reasonable. While the vegetables were hot and good tasting the chicken was barely warm. It was a victim of the dreaded non heated serving pan it was in and being kept out on the line too long. Came on a Monday night with a friend. Food: Really like the menu. Lots of diversity to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. We started with a couple of specialty cocktails. I had the Sazerac, and my friend had the OG Old Fashioned. Both were well made, and there was plenty of alcohol in each. For an appetizer, we got the Frogs on the Mound, which, as you can imagine, is 1/2 lb of frog legs on haystack onion rings. I haven't had frog legs in a while, and I thought these were very good. The breading was light, well seasoned, and not overcooked. The haystack onion rings were just okay. They could have been hotter and maybe seasoned (or just salted) a bit more. For our entrees, I got the Blackened Catfish, and he got the Grouper Tacos. Both of these meals were also very good. The blackened fish was the best part of my meal. It was excellently seasoned, cooked to the right temperature, and moist and flaky. Delicious! The collard greens were good, but would have been better with just a bit more pork. More pork is always better. The rice and beans were good too, but the temperature was less than hot. My friend enjoyed his Grouper Tacos, and the bite he shared with me was very good, except for the green peppers. I much prefer orange or yellow peppers, but I realize that's a personal taste issue. The tacos tasted fresh, the fish was tender, and the portions were good. Service: The place was about a quarter full. Even though we weren't in a hurry, the service got off to a bit of a slow start. After getting waters and menus, it took a while for our server to get back to us. I started to worry that this might be an issue for the rest of the evening, so I made a point of getting their attention. After that, things went smoothly. I didn't get any pictures because I ate it right away, it was that good. My family member picked up the order for me, and while the food was excellent, they mentioned the cashier wasn't very welcoming or friendly, which was disappointing. Everyone has off days, but great customer service makes a big difference, especially when the food is this good. This was still one of the best soul food meals I've had in Milwaukee, and I'll definitely be back to give it another try. Once I'm able to visit in person, hopefully I can recover a different type of service that matches how amazing the food is. Overall the food was a 4.5/5 and the service was a 2/5.
