Saw that they were opened on Saturdays and decided to drive by in my way to the store and they were opened (Wednesdays and Saturdays 11-7). Proceeded to the store and upon walking out, you could smell the smoker from there! Upon pulling up and walking in, you are welcomed by the smell of smoked meats but not too over bearing, just right. The place is clean and well organized and I was greeted by the owner with a friendly smile. After a little conversation, I decided to go with 'the deuce' (2 meats and sides). I chose the tri-tip and pulled pork, greens and potato salad. Also the banana pudding! None of this disappointed in any way. stud Tri-tip was smokey and moist, the pulled pork just right, very little sauce needed. I tried some out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised how well it complimented the meat. The sides were fresh and seasoned quite well. Lastly, the banana pudding was delicious. Nothing about this meal disappointed. If you like brisket, go with the tri-tip! Easy transition and it is the best of both worlds for brisket (mostly lean with some marbling). Definitely will be coming back to try everything else on the menu! This is a must if you like good BBQ!

When I walked up to the stand at shortly after noon, someone greeted me as soon as I approached the counter, I was looking at the menu and without really thinking about it, I ordered the smoked prime rib sandwich. I figured I would either skip the bun or just eat a little of it. I was told they were out of the prime rib, but she mentioned that all of their meats are great, especially the brisket. That's when I remembered that the Texan brisket sandwich is what I had planned to order anyway, so I went with that. The Texan is served on a brioche bun with tangy dill pickle chips on the bottom bun, finished with Smokin Jacks tangy Texas BBQ sauce. The sandwich was $16, and tax isn't included in the price. It was ready in about five minutes, and the lady who took my order called me by name and told me to have a nice day. The brisket was indeed good, and once Mr. R sampled it he commented on it being really good as well. The sauce had a bit of heat to it. I'd definitely order it again, but now I'm on a mission to try this smoked prime rib. Smokin' Jack's is located in the corner near the Wisconsin Avenue side, near where Applebee's used to be, next to the shuffleboard/games floor. This is a Texas style BBQ where you go down the line as you order to put the food on a platter. We had the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and sausage. Our favorites were the brisket and ribs. The meat just melts in your mouth and falls off the bone. That sausage is spicy though!! For the sides we had mac and cheese, cornbread, beans, and coleslaw. Our favorites were the mac and cheese and beans. The cornbread was a little dense but the flavor was good. To finish off with dessert we had their incredible banana pudding. I could literally eat this everyday. They are a family owned business and truly put their love into what they do. They were all so nice and welcoming when we visited and we will definitely be back again.

Being a brand-new restaurant, the interior is understandably still being established. It's pretty plain at the moment and doesn't have a ton of atmosphere or a defined "vibe" yet. The setup follows the traditional Texas BBQ style where you make your way down the line and order your meats and sides as you go. First and foremost, though, the service here is second to none. Tom, Mary, and the entire team make you feel like family from the moment you walk through the door. Everyone we've interacted with has been incredibly kind, generous, attentive, and genuinely happy to have you there. I cannot say enough good things about the people running this place. That kind of hospitality is hard to teach. As for the BBQ, prices are fair, especially for the quality and portions. The pork belly bites are good- very flavorful with the fat rendered properly. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is another standout. It has a nice bite, great texture, and plenty of flavor throughout. The pulled pork was very good as well. It's tender, moist, and rendered well, though I think it could handle a little heavier seasoning to really make it pop. The spare ribs were great- very tender with great smoke and flavor. The brisket was also very tender, though ours leaned a little dry and could have used more seasoning. Still a solid brisket and certainly something I'd order again. We've tried several of the sauces as well. The house BBQ sauce is excellent, and the mustard BBQ is another winner. The peach tea BBQ is definitely unique and worth trying, though it was a little too sweet for me and could use some additional depth to balance it out. They also have bottled and canned beer and soda, along with a self-serve water station. All in all, we're extremely happy to have Tom's Smokehouse in the Hubertus area and will likely become regulars. There are a few minor areas where the food and atmosphere can continue to develop, but this is also a brand-new restaurant finding its footing. For only being open a short time, they are off to a fantastic start and have a lot to be proud of. Most importantly, the combination of good BBQ and genuinely exceptional hospitality makes you want to come back, and we already have!

He is there Tuesday to Saturday 10:30 to 4pm he says. The rib tips looked amazing on the grill and I took a picture so you could see the before and after pictures of the cooked rib rips. I ordered the meat only for $10 because the sides didn't interest at all and did my car smell so good so I pulled over because I couldn't wait to try them. The rib tips had a nice looking bark that was seasoned nicely and tasty I thought. The rib meat had that little chew that I like because I don't like the mush fall off the bone meat. The rib tips were meaty and not all cartilage with most of the meat chopped off like some places. The meat was very tasty with that bark and a deep grilled flavor that I really liked, like a backyard bbq. I really like that he uses charcoal to cook his food because it's so hard to find places that cook with charcoal anymore and he seems like a like a really nice guy and he let me take my pictures which helps his business. I didn't even use the bbq sauce because the meat stands on its own by the way. There is no bbq in the immediate area that I can think of so this is a nice addition to the neighborhood if your looking for some tasty rib tips here you go. I've tried before, but there were always too busy, I couldn't find parking, and/or couldn't place a phone order. Now I get it. The food is excellent! I picked up two dinners to share with a friend yesterday, a Beef (Brisket) Dinner and a King's Combo, which includes 2 sticks of pork ribs (I believe these are spare ribs with the tips attached), rib tips, and pork shoulder. The dinners come with 2 sides and 2 slices of white sandwich bread. I asked for sauce on the side because I believe they normally serve their meat sauced, especially the rib tips. I believe putting sauce on smoked BBQ is an insult to the chef that spent so much time coming up with the right combination of spices for the rub and perfected the time and temperature for the smoking process to get the right flavor, only to have all that skill and effort negated by covering it all up in sauce. I dipped a rib tip in the sauce it would normally be covered in, and it was great, but I ate the rest without any sauce. The brisket was sliced thin and was incredibly tender and juicy. I ate a slice before I drove home so it would be fresh, but it also survived the drive home, although I have a food delivery bag I use for carry-out. Normally smoked pork shoulder is pulled, but here it is sliced. It was just as tender and some slices were as juicy as the brisket! All of the meat had a sprinkle of their rub on it, and every bite was delicious! The sides of baked beans and slaw were good, but not amazing, but they didn't have to be. I was there for the meats! They are carry-out only. Their website doesn't have current prices, but are within a couple of bucks. They only take cash, but have an ATM on site. Customers seemed to come in waves. I arrived 5 minutes before they opened, and there were 6 people in line already. I have to get back soon to try their turkey tips, beef ribs, and wings. They also recently added a 2nd location, which is a full restaurant with dining room on King Drive, called The Q. Easily in the discussion for top 2 or 3 BBQ spots in town, but has been in business the longest and still going strong!

(While I was waiting for my order, another vendor from the farmers market came by and told the operators that the stew was the best thing he had every eaten at the farmer's market.) Today, I had a squash curry. It was rich, bright yellow, and smelled and tasted delicious. Some restaurants' "vegan" food is bland and plain. Not this place. Highly recommend for people looking for vegetarian or vegan options.

The first opening of the box was Fu%k it's not sliced brisket but that lousy pulled pork style which I despise, if your going to put the hours in to a brisket give it a nice presentation with slices. The bun looked like commercial grocery store cheap burger buns. The greens on the other hand looked fresh, I heard them say they get them from a vender in the Farmers Market. They pushed the sauce on me and I told them I wanted a naked tasting to get an idea of the BBQ. The greens were ok and needed a little seasoning but a good start. The naked brisket had a smokey flavor and pulled style which is least liked by me, slices with that little fat ring left on for flavor is how I like it but it has potential. First off my car smelled amazing on the way home. Half the menu was already scratched off 2 hours and 20 minutes into their day. Everything is a la carte just so you know. After having BBQ all over the country with really good ribs 90% of the times the sides are average compared the the ribs so I didn't get any sides today. I ordered the half rack that has a garnish of pickles and pickled onions. My first thought was wow they left the tips on which most bbq places chop off so they can sell for more profit. My second thought was that's a nice bark. My third thought was that's a nice smoke ring. The 1/2 rack was a proper 1/2 rack with moist meat that comes clean off the bone. They didn't have that little chew that I like. The ribs were tasty with a nice smoke flavor that has a little kick finish. I can't speak on the rest of the meat's because I'm a rib guy all my life. Overall the BBQ ribs are solid and they have a place in the Milwaukee BBQ community. Did they de thrown my favorite BBQ no but I can get really good ribs with out driving an hour. Just a note the YouTube videos that show that really good looking beef rib you're probably not going to ever get from the truck because they said the last two events they didn't sell very well and I don't know if that applies to the American Family Field location.
