Think of any rural dive bar. That's Hell Saloon (but with endearingly kitschy Halloween decorations strewn about the interior...because it's Hell!!!). We went in as a total dad band was setting up to play on a Saturday night. It wasn't popping off yet, but those who were there were entirely townies. There's a cool bar lining the majority of the farthest wall and plenty of tables in the middle. The food was good; I ordered a salad and cheese sticks. You can't really mess that up! The menu is basic pub food done perfectly fine. I ordered a White Russian that tasted a little too bitter. Nothing about the place is bad, but nothing is exceptional either. It gets by on being one of the few places to drink in a very remote place. If you're going for a farm-community vibe, go on in. There's pretty inexpensive. If you're not in Hell, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to stop in. read more

This is a solid spot and best of all they were serving food at 9:30PM which is definitely late night dining for the area. While it wasn't haute cuisine, it was a good hot saloon meal with a great combo playing music. If there aren't any live tunes playing when you stop in there are plenty of TV's on the wall to catch a sports game. The portions were incredibly generous for the price. If you're on the hunt for a burger, pizza, hot dog, quesadilla, or sandwich then the Hell Saloon won't disappoint and this goes double if you're coming into town late with a hungry belly. We had an awesome dinner at Hell Saloon last night. Elizabeth was our server and she was friendly, helpful and just attentive enough to not be over bearing. Awesome waitress!! The food... omg soooo good!!! We started with the Hell in a Handbasket and the Brussels sprouts (pictured) both were absolutely delicious!! Get their ranch too. So good! My boyfriend got the fish and chips and I got the Helter skelter club melter for our main meals, we both couldn't stop raving about how delicious they were! Thanks Hell Saloon. We came here during the Hearse Fest/Parade and didn't know what to expect. However, the service ended up being efficient and friendly and the food was pretty great. General look and feel of the bar was also fun and Halloween themed. Bathrooms also appeared clean (not the most exciting thing to put in a review but I always find it good to know ha) We only tried a few things from the menu but here was our take: Deviled Eggs with Spice: Not actually spicy at all (but I like spice so that might just be my opinion) However, if you like deviled eggs these seemed to be a pretty traditional recipe with some bacon thrown on top for good measure. Slow Burn Chili: Again, not that spicy but still really tasty with quite a bit of meat and beans. I think this is one of the best deals on the menu ...about $4.50 and could easily be a decent small meal Wings with Hell Sauce: These made up for the lack of spice in the eggs! Still not the kind of heat that will make your eyes water, but good and vinegary. The only downside, they were a bit pricey for what you get ... about $8.50 for 6 wings. Still, the quality and taste were good so we were happy! Also, there was live music ... I'm really not a big fan of live music in small spaces like that but we were still able to carry on a conversation without too much shouting so it was ok. read more

Food not very good. Cheese Sticks weren't cooked all the way thru. The double burger special ordered Medium was way over cooked and over salted. I didn't finish the burger because of it being so salty. The chips that came with the burger, hard as a rock. Also noticed the cooks not wearing hats...:A guy named Jason with Tatoos on his left arm, is an employee in the kitchen, kept standing next to me at the end of the bar ordering drinks, which I thought was rude, bartender shouldn't have let him do that. Two words; Elk Chili. Some really tasty and very affordable chili made with elk meat. So affordable that when I ordered take out, I ordered two bowls of chili. The elk chili is offered as mild or hot. They seem to come from the same vat so the mild is sometimes quite hot. For the take out, you get chili, cheese, and sour cream. Quite the deal. The beer selection is ok. Wait staff when I've been there is one person for the whole restaurant. I'm not in a hurry, so it's ok. The other meals I've had were tasty. Besides having a very cool, devil-ish vibe, the food in this very fun dam site venue is delicious! My friend had the Turkey Reuben and it came with (no lie!) hand-sliced roast turkey breast ala thanksgiving...no damn deli crap!! The bottled beer was like $1.95 for Happy Hour. I had the Hades Salad, which in my humble opinion, was overpriced & lacked the standard fixin's to be a true Greek salad (like don't give me plain old black olives instead of Kalamata...& no sliced pepperocinis, I want to crunch into those babies!) Deviled eggs had cold, raw, uncooked bacon fat on them, and the chips & salsa consisted of stale, chewy tortilla chips with Pace picante sauce. I'm from the southwest, so I know what chips & salsa are all about. Chips should never be chewy, and serving Pace at a restaurant is a big no-no. read more

I've been here a few times with family and friends. Great Michigan beer selection and they always have specials! I've only had their naked hot wings and they were delicious. Giving stars for the service only. We were one of 3 tables when we visited on a Thursday night. We ordered the sampler platter which was skimpy for $9. Nothing special. The pizza we ordered took an extremely long time and when it came it was doughy and undercooked, I've heard that other people have had the same experience here many times. Maybe their ovens are not equipped for their deep dish style of pizza, if so they should fix this. The waitress said they've been having issues. She was super super sweet and apologized profusely. She took it back to cook it longer, and the manager (I'm assuming) brought it out to us in a to go box and said she took it off the bill and also gave us a gift card, which was awesome and unexpected because many places do not have that kind of customer service! We appreciated it. The pizza was still undercooked when we got home but we will go back and try something else. read more

It takes forever for your food to come out of the kitchen, We were there on a Sunday night and no one even acknowledged us so we left.
