If you use the Smith's app coupons then you can get a good deal once in awhile. Overall their produce can be quality but that's hit or miss depending on the store! This Smith's is super judgemental- if you have tattoos or piercings they automatically assume you are going to steal something! Smith's Marketplace - The front of the store - Department Stores Near Me - West Jordan, Utah

Turns out I actually kind of like the Smith's Marketplace in West Jordan. For a brief history lesson, this was the old Fred Meyer before the Fred Meyers became Smith's Marketplaces. Think of it as a "Smith's Food and Drug and Stuff." Truthfully, I'm only so-so about the grocery part of this store. It's a nice location and with all that square footage they've certainly got a wide selection. But refer to my previous rants about the rewards card business model (hint: I hate it). So for me, it' the Marketplace part that is surprisingly alluring to me. For one, they carry some different items that you don't see in every other big box store. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it's straight off the boat from China, but some of their home decor, garden, or housewares stuff if a fresh break from the same-ol' that you see everywhere. Speaking of the garden area, this is my favorite part about this Smith's Marketplace. They simply stock more interesting things than any other store in the area. For a total geek-out, of course you go to a nursery. But nurseries can be big, overwhelming, and understaffed. So the garden section here is an awesome alternative and has a rockin selection of harder to find annuals, lots of unique veggies, tons and tons of herbs, and my absolute favorite selection of small perennials. Unlike most places that only sell these things in a gallon bucket for $15 bucks, these guys stock the small pots and charge $2.50-$4 each. If you've got the patience to plant small, they end up just as big and beautiful. Huge plus. I always stop here in the spring to see what they've got, and at their prices I've bought flats and flats of annuals, perennials, veggies, and herbs. There's a Fred Meyer Jewelers here, a UPS store that shares the building, and I think I saw they have a kiddie-care center where you can dump the kids while you shop. You'd have to verify how that works for sure, I was in a rush to get my concert tickets (this is also a SmithsTix outlet) and didn't ask how the kiddie thing works. read more

I placed an online order and everything I order was marked "out of stock". My order was approximately $54 However, my credit card was charged over $150 for someone else's order. I never received what they charged my card for. So whoever ordered the online $150 got a great deal because they got all their groceries for free while I'm fighting to get my card refunded for the ch that belongs to someone else! I can't get a call back. I did an online chat and they said my card would be credited back and nothing was done. I've emailed and no response Buyer BEWARE if ordering online!!!! I don't know what happened to the staff at this location on 11/21/22. Most of the checkers except for mine were in a very bad mood. One was complaining about numerous customers and a little boy playing with his toy gun while bagging my food. My bagger mixed yogurt with cans and cans on top of produce. No one likes bruised fruit. My daughters checker threw her produce to the bagger and bruised her fruit. It was a terrible experience. We could not wait to get out of the store. It was a very negative experience. I am not exactly sure what's happening to customer service these days but it has really gone downhill. I have worked in customer service my entire career and would have been written up for this behavior. I consider myself a pleasant person and am always kind to the staff at Smiths. read more

We have been here on a few occasions as it is the closest Smith's to our apartment. It's a nice place. Two redbox machines outside. It's nice and open. The clothes section is to the left, very back right corner holds kitchen tools, gardening tools, bedding, etc. the grocery is in the middle, well organized, lots of options. It's nice to have a lot of brands to choose from. There were some great deals going on. I love to use the app to find the free Friday download to get a free item almost every week that I will enjoy! The parking lot could use some work, but there are always plenty of employees. Will be back and I'd suggest visiting anytime! read more

Absolutely disgusting place: I counted FIVE DOGS roaming in the grocery isles. One was licking everything on the bottoms shelves. Another was standing on its hind paws in the meat area with its snout poking around. Afterwards, there was dog hair everywhere on top of the meat packets. I needed a new set of towels, creamy gorgonzola, an organic Kashi Lemongrass Coconut Chicken, and a set of newborn Onesies. No need for several stops when there's Smith's Marketplace. I love this store! Here's the scoop on SM, for those who've never experienced it. As the name suggests, it's not Smith's Regular. It's the wondrous result if SuperSmith's had a baby with JCPenney. No, I know there's no such thing as SuperSmith's. But, just go with it. They have pretty much everything at SM. And they carry decent brands in their grocery, homegoods, baby, outdoor/home improvement, shoes, accessories, health & beauty, and smaller item furniture departments. Identical to Smith's Regular, their in-store brand is Kroger. The only territory I'm not a big fan of is women's apparel. It's all okay, and you can occasionally find some jaw-dropping deals on their sale merchandise. But I prefer Target for pretty much the same general type of women's apparel inventory. One of my favorite places in this store is their giant aisle of kitchen gadgetry. I love spending at least half an hour perusing every little handheld cook's tool I've ever dreamt of, and taking home a couple of absolute necessities (at least this is what Hubby is to believe). There's always something on sale that speaks to me. They even carry a reasonable selection of As Seen on TV products for the true believers out there. I quite like their fresh foods section, but wish they carried a larger inventory of organic fruits and veggies. The non-organic offerings are nicely presented, and fairly priced. They have the largest selection of organic frozen foods that I've seen anywhere, though. In fact, their frozen goods area is impressive overall. Others have mentioned SM's bakery. It's widely diverse, and offers many really attractive baked goods; but, for me, the items I've tried are deceiving. Quite disappointing tastes overall. The breads, with no exceptions, have been vapid in flavor; the pastries simply sweet with little substance otherwise. The last bakery item I bought here (some time ago) was a cheese bread with jalapenos. Savory and flavorful should be spot-on descriptors of something that looked this good. I'm sorry to say it was anything but. I have not tried their in-store cafe, and typically only see store staff partaking of their goods. I've always wanted to ask them whether this is due to short break times, or great food. Who knows. Maybe someday I'll gird up my loins and give it a shot. If so, I'll surely report my findings in an update. So kids, when you find yourself in need of a 5-lb bag of Jasmine rice, a fine houseplant, a six-pack of brew (or two), some fancy new toe-socks, and the latest Jean-Claude VanDamme movie, this is your spot! I actually enjoy going to Smith's Market Place. Some things it is better to go to walmart or harmons (food wise) or another large chain, but the shoes and other stuff is decently priced. Its nice to browse and look at the flowers/plants, chill on the swing, or even kick it on the couch. :) read more

I love this store. They have a great selection of organic items and alternative dairy/gluten foods. They always have the type of milk we drink and the prices are the lowest here for those things. I love when they have the 10 for 10 sales or buy a certain amount of cereal and you get a gallon of milk for free. All of those things I but anyway, having two boys who eat like grown men. Called at 7 pm was told that will be delivered by 945pm. Never delivered. Called but customer service is closed. On the web it shows out for delivery by 11 pm or midnight. New Year's Eve dinner!!!! Really? Totally unacceptable and no text with updates. Smith's you must be ashamed for this kind of service. This interior is gorgeous...one of the most pleasant places I've shopped in...my previous review still stands, but this one has a near dizzying array of stuff inside and the layout is pretty good, bordering on spectacular. Today, I was a bit disappointed to find all the kids shoes starting at $30 and going up from there...it made me want to go to Wal-Mart, and I never want to do that...hmmm. Rude and annoying sales people. They stalk you 30 mins before close constantly asking if you need help and asking if you know they close in 30 minutes. Then again and again. It's not enough that they get on the PA system and aggressively state they are closing in 5 minute increments either. Every aisle or area you go all the employees jerk their heads and stare you down til it's so awkward you just leave. And all this and their so obvious loss prevention woman following me everywhere to the point I'd like to follow harassment charges. She is terrible at her job by the way. read more

Smith's is famous for overcharging especially on sale items. Every time I go to Smith's whether it is for just a couple of items or more, I can ALWAYS catch them ringing something up for more than it was marked. Trying on clothes is ridiculous here. You have to pick up the phone to even get anyone to unlock the dressing rooms and they are annoyed and slow if they even show up. A women came in and left, she didn't have time to wait. I waited about 5 minutes and nobody came so I left and won't go back. You are losing business locking the dressing rooms. You need to put some emphasis on training your baggers. Today I bought several groceries. I didn't pay attention to the bagger because I was watching the cashier and the prices. When I got out to my car I started putting the bags in the trunk and saw they were all overloaded. By the time I got home several of the items had come out of the sacks. I was in a hurry so I didn't mention it and came home. Unloading the bags from my trunk the handles broke on two bags and spilled canned goods in the driveway. The frozen goods were put in the same bags as the paper products. The ice cream that is usually double bagged or at least put in a separate bag was was on top my two large containers of oatmeal read more
