Very disappointed! Their return policy is awful!!!! Just purchased fabric yesterday that was NOT cut fabric, had the receipt, never left the bag and they would not accept the return. Daughter was in tears. Most likely will never be returning to this fabric store again. read more

this was my first time coming here as a new sewer. i was so excited! selection was great and there was a sale! however one worker (brownish curly hair), came up to us and asked "are you guys about ready? we close at 7." I had a great experience at this store. I was confused as to what batting and backing I should use for my quilt. An experienced worker there instructed me to use a certain batting and to try minky. It turned out wonderful and quilted beautiful. thank you Fabric Center!! read more

I will never do business with Fabric Center ever again! The women who work here are unprofessional, catty, and disrespectful. They treated me so poorly when I was in there, that I refuse to ever do business here again. They talked down to me and act as if I was an extreme inconvenience. I have stopped by a couple of times looking from something I couldn't find anywhere else. I have never once been greeted or asked if there was something I needed help finding. The one time I did request to be told when a particular fabric would be back in stock, no one ever followed up. I saw it there on my next visit and asked why I was not told. No one seemed to know (or care) what I was talking about. If you want to be left completely alone and be treated as an inconvenience, I suggest the Fabric Center (or Walmart). read more

I usually give this store 5 stars. But this time I'm very disappointed. Went in to match Minky material for the back of a blanket. I needed 1 yard. Got home to unfolded it and I don't know if it was where the girl cut or the side on the bolt. But there was a huge swope like an upside down c right in the middle. Not a happy camper. It's not cheap to purchase, or easy to sew on if everything is right. I suggest you check before you leave the store. read more

You might be wise to take into consideration that I'm a novice when it comes to sewing. I got quite into it over the winter and though I'm not doing as much of it now that it's warm and I want to be outside all of the time, I never was doing it a TON. I'm new to the game, so my impressions are pretty uninformed. You've been warned. Every bit of me strained to remember where this was. And by remember, I mean figure out. I just couldn't place it; this entire development on the east side of Redwood is like a black hole, though. I think there may have, at one point, been an Indian restaurant in here but even that is shaky. And even though I've driven by here a hundred times I would never have been able to tell you that there's and AMC Theater at the back. It's sneaky. So when the Yelp app pointed me here when in search of some thread, I just had to believe. And when it told me that they are open until 9pm on a Monday night, I also had to believe as it was almost 7pm and I thought for sure that's when they would be closing. I found it, parked, and on my way in was warned that "you better hurry, they close at 7pm!" Once inside I asked an employee who corrected me and said that yes, just as listed on Yelp, they are open until 9pm. Inside it's a fabric store, straight up. Whereas some of the bigger box stores have more crafts and branch out into pillows and decor, this is fabric. Cottons, fleece, blends, quilting, fat quarters, fabric, fabric, fabric. On the one hand, if you're looking just for fabric then you might appreciate the no frills approach. On the other, if you are looking for a broad range of supplies, know that the selection will be limited. The thread I was seeking was pretty minimal. Oh, you're better off here than a big box department store, but if you want a wide selection of thread materials and more color choices, as well as more quality choices, you'll need to find a bigger store with more options. I was looking at a simple mending project, so I found what I needed and got out of there pretty quickly. I'm not sure if they play the coupon game like other crafty spots. That seems to be the norm, but I didn't stick around long enough or have fabric needs that would have clued me in. But I do know that when I start sewing more again in the fall, I have a new stop where I can go to look at prints and patterns that will work for what I'm after. read more

I've been going here for six years and love this store. They have quality quilting cotton, the best selection of minkie you'll find anywhere, and I find the best minkie price during their frequent sales. Great selection of flannel also. I spent 20 minutes walking around the store looking for fabric before even getting assisted. And when I finally was assisted the first lady was super great and professional. But when I finally found the fabric that I wanted and took up to purchase. The second lady behind the counter told me that the fabric that I chose wouldn't be compatible together. And that if I wanted it sold together that I would have to go onto their Facebook page to get some service on helping to sew it together and wait until they did auctions. I asked was that the only way and she told me yes it was that they didn't do in-store service. I asked when it had changed because they had done in the past did in store service and instead of a response she continued to tell me that the fabric that I had chosen wasn't compatible. She was absolutely rude through every last second of our conversation until I decided I was done with it and left. She has the worst customer service read more

I'm rather new to the sewing thing, so my sister and I took a day to tour the fabric stores in Salt Lake Valley. I have to say this was my favorite. The store is well organized and clean. Prices were good and fabric is better quality than what one would get in a craft store. The staff is what earned this store 5 stars, they were helpful and knowledgeable. Associates have different areas of specialties and if one does not know the answer they will find someone who does. I especially enjoyed working with Maquel she is just packed full of fabric facts. I've just recently found out about Fabric Center and only been there twice, but both times the staff couldn't have been more cordial or helpful. I love the hemstitched receiving blanket and burb cloth kits. On one side of the display are baby girl-appropriate kits and on the other side ones for boys. To make it even more convenient, across the aisle are crochet threads to match the kits. Now every mother-to-be among my family & friends receives a blanket & burb cloth set personalized with whatever crocheted edging suits my fancy. Actually, it's good I don't live close to the Fabric Center: I'd spend way too much money there. And I'd have to take their quilting class because it looks like such fun. read more
