They have been having a 50% off sale and I fell in love with a beautiful painting which I purchased for my birthday. I paid the asking price and they were to ship it to me in Australia. There were many signs in the shop saying everything was discounted. I had the perfect position for it in my bedroom just waiting for this beautiful work of art. I should have taken it with me and not trusted them to ship it for me. If I had walked out with it that would have been the end of it. My painting! Paid for ready to hang. Come Monday I got an email saying I could have a credit note to spend in the store or pay the other 50%. I responded that I wanted the painting sent as per our contract of sale which I had made with them. They then said I could have a total refund or pay the other 50%. I said I did not want this and my efforts to call them and speak with them were ignored. Then I received an email saying the refund had been done and i would get it in about 3 days. Again I rang to speak with the owner however she did not take my call or return my call as requested. I was also told they were not able to discount this artists work and they were sure I would understand that. No ... I do not. When I made the purchase the woman behind the counter was very explicit about the price and told me she had sent out an information sheet on all the paintings to their mailing list at the 50% price. I believe that someone else offered them more money for the painting and thus they negated my purchase and took the extra from another buyer. Of course I have no proof of this however it is the only thing that makes sense. I feel like I have been treated with contempt and would not recommend this company to anyone. They could not even return my phone calls.

Had 5 rugs picked up to be cleaned - took months to get them back, which was the first problem…read more When we unwrapped one of the oriental carpets to use, so much dirt coming out onto our floor that we vacuumed it front and back 10 times, so it had not been cleaned at all! They came and picked it up again so it could be washed as it should have been in the first place. When I called to check when it would be returned, I was told they wouldn't wash it because the colors would run, which I knew wouldn't happen because it sat in water for a week after a hurricane before we could return to our home. He still refused. They would not return the carpet until they had a delivery in our area. 7 weeks later we picked it up ourselves. Wish I had checked them out better before calling them.

They said Denver would be able to do a museum quality cleaning. The rug is not worth much but has sentimental value and the cleaning would be half it's value. . When I rolled it out I noticed that the fringe had been cut all the way to the pile. I called foothill rug to ask them how we could fix the rug to prevent it from fraying. They then accused me of cutting the fringe myself. It was a very disappointing interaction. I do not recommend.

There are times that the one experience with a company/store puts that "bad taste in your mouth"…read morefeel, and this was the one time. From the moment we walked into the store at 6207 S State St Murray, UT 84107, we were completely ignored in the furniture department. We mingled there looking at furniture, bedding and accessories for an extended period of time. Two men were across the store from us behind computer screens at their work stations. We saw one woman in an office door who was talking to someone else in the office, who would come out, look at us, and then turn around and walk back in and continue her conversation. It felt as if they were too busy to help us. We finally sent someone to the kitchen section to inquire if we could get some help in furniture. I saw the woman come out of the office, look at us, then approach one of the men, who got up from his station and walked toward us. I explained my dilemma of having started an order online with a cabinet that was on sale and as I was processing the order, I had questions regarding shipping/delivery that I couldn't find the answers to online. So I put it aside to go into the store after my out of town work trip, not realizing the sale was for a limited time. Pulling up the order, I discovered the sale had ended and the cabinet was back to regular price. I asked if there was any way they would honor the sale price. The salesman went to ask the manager, from the same office as the talking staff, and came back and said, "she said no." No explanation, no greeting, no apology from the manager. Just "No". I have never felt so ignored and dismissed as I did in that department in that store. I'm sure this is not the standard of Crate and Barrel, but it has tarnished my opinion of the entire company from one sour experience.

The first issue: Prices. To me, 10 grand is not a clearance price for an area rug. 7 grand is not a good price for a sectional. And the towels, OMG, you'll want them to have their own Hyperbaric chamber after you see these prices. Second issue: Very little color. If you like beige, off-white, gunmetal gray, vanilla, eggshell, ivory, etc., you'll feel at home. The founder Stephen Gordon must have been neglected Crayolas in his youth, as the options are minimal. However, I definitely recommend taking a roll through their excellent showroom. Steal some great ideas, and buy at IKEA.
