Fried chicken, hush puppies, fries & Brunswick stew.

Great fried chicken, quality shredded bbq, plenty of sides. The only place that serves hush puppies that aren't oniony, so they're the only ones I'll eat. Really good Brunswick stew. But 1 get one 1/2 off. If you like sweet tea you'll love theirs. Very busy place but they are always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Don't miss this place!

First visit here on 10/9/20. We went through their busy but fast drive thru. My son wanted their hotdog kid's meal, but the cashier said they don't serve hotdogs. Why is it on the ordering board then? Anyway, luckily he's not picky. Lol. He got a chicken strip kid's meal instead which was not listed on the order board. They were adhering to social distancing inside as well as in the drive thru. After paying at the window, I had to pull up to an orange cone to have my order brought out to me. The guy was really fast. I appreciated that. Our food was fresh. I ordered 2 chicken wings and shrimp basket. I didn't know the shrimp were popcorn shrimp. I expected for that price for them to be medium sized at least. Our food was fresh and very tasty though. Next time I will just order chicken. The shrimp costs too much for the small amount they give. The restaurant is nestled in a busy parking lot next to a gas station and Sonic. People can't drive, so be very careful. We will be back for sure.

8 Pcs dark meat clearly stated as $24.49

We were at this store location and ordered dark meat tailgate package which according to menu sign is 24.49 (8pcs). According to the lady, ignore the price on the board everything is 28.99. My message to the management, you need to alter the pricing on the board. This is misleading. I guess the menu pricing is for reference only and the lady behind counter is charge of the final pricing

This is the only thing worth taking a photo of! Lol

It's been a while since I've done a review but this was worth being my first review in nearly 6 months. Let's lead off with the chicken strips, hush puppies and french fries I ordered. The strips are tinder white meat aka chicken breasts likely cut into thirds. Breaded in a dry flowered batter; they were not amazing, but what it complements well with is the "Red Sauce" they supply with the strips. To say it is amazing is an understatement. All of the potential those strips had were pulled out with the ketchup vinegar blend barbecue sauce. Without the sauce we don't see a 5 star rating, okay? Therefore; order with the red sauce or be prepared to feel like I over sold this place. *** If the strips breading was thicker and independently tasted like something I couldn't make at home I would load this up to 5 stars! *** Next, would be the fries and hush puppies. The puppies are another unique flavor which I am impressed with. The fries are very much like McDonalds. Not a bad compliment. Chicken Strips: 7.9 Fries: 5 Hush Puppies: 7.9 (***) Red Sauce: 9.5 (***) *** = Unique flavor

Chicken is my Choice!!!!

Service is cafeteria style, so it's fast - and you get to see what you are ordering. Seating is comfortable and spacious, and the staff super friendly and helpful. On our first visit we tried the Barbecue and Stew Combo ($10.99) and Fried Shrimp Friday Special (Small $12.49 / Large $13.99). Both included two sides and choice of Hushpuppies, Corn Sticks or Bun. The Hushpuppies were perfectly seasoned - crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The Corn Sticks were a little dry - but tasty. Portions were generous, and the BBQ was excellent; but the Brunswick Stew was not good. It was watery and had a disagreeable flavor. The Potato Salad was simple, but satisfying. The Cole Slaw was some of the best we have eaten. It was just tangy enough to make it a perfect companion for the BBQ. Because the Shrimp were small, there were about equal amounts of Shrimp and Breading. The Breading itself was well seasoned and not too heavy; so, on balance, an enjoyable dish that we would order again. We also sampled two Wednesday Specials (both included two sides and choice of Hushpuppies, Corn Sticks or Bun). The Baby Back Ribs (one rack $11.99 / two racks $14.99) were mostly tender and juicy, except for the end ribs (which were dry and chewy). The BBQ flavor was just right. We will definitely be ordering Baby Backs again. The Chicken Pastry (small plate $9.99 / large plate $10.49) left a lot to be desired. The old-fashioned dumplings were great, but I had to search for the few bits of chicken. I do not recommend this dish. Johnny's offers a nice assortment of traditional southern deserts (all priced at $3.99). We tried the Banana Pudding. This made-from-scratch concoction was sweet, smooth, creamy, bananary and verging on decadent - a definite winner. Sweet Tea, is available for $1.99 (small glass), $2.49 (large glass) and $5.99 (gallon). Our large glass came with unlimited refills. If you want to try the Baby Back Ribs, you will have to visit Johnny's on Wednesdays after 3:00 PM. Smoked Brisket (which we have not tasted) is available only on Thursdays after 3:00 PM ($12.99 for a small plate / $15.99 for a large plate / $5.99 for a sandwich).

However, if you prefer savory barbecue, I would pass on the food. Everything was very sweet which was disappointing. Overall, it's a clean and pleasant establishment with great customer service and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't for me, so I wouldn't return for the food.
