I moved to Norfolk in November, and Smashers has already become a regular in my restaurant rotation! The burgers and fries are always fresh and full of flavor! The smashers sauce is also really good, I love it on my burgers, but also to get a side of it to dip my fries in! This is a casual dining experience, you order at the counter, then wait for your name to be called at the window when your food is ready. It's a little longer than fast food, but it's really fresh and made to order.

After three visits I'm convinced that Smashers needs to be updated to a 5. It's not just the fantastic burgers, oh they are fire!!! It's the entire business. I had an opportunity to talk to the owner Henry for the first time on my most recent. They are looking at expansion in Hilltop. I expressed my satisfaction with the operation. Smashers is definitely a contender for best burger in the 757.

I had the chance to try Smashers at the Norfolk Premium Outlets with a sista friend on 6/6/26. I had seen a review by a local content creator and decided to try them out. I had a the Original Smasher w/ fries and a drink. The young lady that waited on us was friendly, offered suggestions and handed us our food when it was ready. They have both in and outdoor seating and played good music. The burger was tasty with good toppings, the fries are thin and they serve Coke products. Prices are very similar to Five Guys. The also serve hotdogs, and milkshakes. If you got a hankering for a good burger while in the 757, try them out.

Smashers Burgers & Fries - Norfolk, VA Visited: April 15, 2026 First time trying Smashers, and my immediate impression was that it feels like a knockoff of Five Guys--very similar layout and menu style. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does set a certain expectation. The burgers are made with fresh ingredients and are definitely tasty, but they just don't hit that "wow" level. The buns, in particular, could be better--they didn't quite hold everything together or add much to the overall flavor. Solid burger, just not memorable. The fries were a bit of a letdown. They're cut very thin and came out slightly undercooked, which took away from what could have been a strong side. Overall, it's not a bad spot, but with options like Five Guys or In-N-Out out there, it's hard to see myself going out of the way to come back. If you're nearby, it's worth trying once--but probably not a repeat for me.

I recently tried Smashers Burgers and Fries and ordered the single Smashers-style burger with fries. The burger itself was tasty and flavorful, though a bit on the salty side. I really liked the pickles and soft bun--it held everything together nicely and added to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the condition of the restaurant took away from the meal. The floor was noticeably greasy, which was a bit of a turnoff and made the place feel less clean than I'd expect. Overall, decent food but the atmosphere could use improvement. Not sure if I'll be back.

Lemme cut to the chase. Damn near busted all over the table. Hands down one of if not the best burger I've ever had and I know burgers. Fries had me giggling and drooling, hotdog was so good almost swallowed it whole like a seagull. Service was fast ash and I told the woman it was my first time and she walked me thru it, took my smashers virginity and hit me wit the aftercare. 10/10 definitely coming back no doubt about it. I'm bringing the squad to smash with em.

I had high hopes for smashers, but my visit left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. I ordered a single patty, and honestly I had to double check if there was actually meat on the bun. The patty was so thin it was practically see through, with random holes like swiss cheese. I get that it's a smashburger, but this one looked like it had been smashed out of existence The fries? Paper thin. Im talking about thinner than a receipt. They were super crispy, sure, but to the point where I wondered if I was just eating crunchy air. The oreo milkshake was ok nothing mind blowing. It did the job. Keep in mind this review is reflecting the quality of food not the service. The people working there were very kind and apologetic about any wait for the food.

Give this place a shot. First off, they have a great story, so I love supporting a local small business. The restaurant is keeping to the food truck feel, nothing fancy. Which means it is a fast food service. Not saying that is bad, don't expect table service. The burger is solid, but nothing fancy. Quality products and good skills make good food. I really enjoyed the bun, buttery and soft. Also, the price is good, I think this is very reasonable for what I ordered. If you're at the outlets and looking for a quick meal, give this place a try. I would absolutely go back.

A carbon copy of Five Guys. As soon as you walk in it smells exactly the same, the menu looks exactly the same, the prices are pretty high/the same- minus the free peanuts. Upon order to delivery of said order took over 20minutes. We almost thought our order was lost in transit by how long it took them to get it out. The place looked fully staffed with at least 4 people in the back. They need to add an intercom for calling out orders, they play music, combined with the fans(a welcome respite from the heat) means employees have to shout at the top of their lungs to be heard over the noise. Once the food comes though, all issues are acceptable because this place is quite tasty and a notch above five guys! The portion size of the original smash burger is very large and combined with fries should satisfy almost all palates. Overall, I was left with good feelings on my first and not last trip to Smashburger. read more

Ate here today based on the recommendation of the front desk person at Hilton hotel in the same parking lot. It was 1pm not overly crowded. Food is cooked to order. Had the single smash with small fry. $13. The meal was tasty. The burger was seasoned and had a good soft texture. Not crispy like most other smash burgers I've had. Not sure if that is by design. The bun was likely brioche, soft and fresh. I liked shoe string fries. The two downsides were they were all 1 inch long and overly salty. I was even warned by the hotel person that the fries were salty, but I like them that way. But this was over salted. Next time light salt. If I stay at the Hilton I will be back. If I were the mgmt I'd give the hotel staff a discount to point folks that way. Maybe give a paper coupon for a $1 off for guests or show their hotel key card read more

First off, the Burgers are amazing: Big, tasty, and filling!! Then why 3 stars? Because the French fries were pathetic and expensive. If I see $4.29 for a small, and $4.99 for a large, I'm thinking they do the "Five Guys treatment" where they dump the large cup into the bag and the fries fill the bag. We got home and opened up our large fries to see a 7/8 filled cup of shoestring style fries. There was NO spillover and not nearly a suitable amount to split between 2 adults. Finally, with a tip, the total for 2 was over $40. I've got a lot of similar options out there, so you've got to separate yourself from the competition. Yes, your burgers are great, but you come out short on fries and cost. So, 3 stars. read more

It was great! A little pricy but I'd come back again for sure. The fries seemed hand peeled and were great. We got a large and split between the two of us and had plenty. I got the original smasher which was pretty big and the smasher sauce was great! The service was super friendly, way more friendly than I've experienced in a while. The vibes are pretty standard. Super clean inside! Anyway, I recommend it. Less is more is the theme of the menu and I hope it doesn't change! read more

Smashers Norfolk has really good burgers but unfortunately the fries were very cold and overly salted. I feel as if the fries were hot then it could've been better. Also the burgers were very greasy to the point it was seeping out and overall the burger was warm too, not even hot but warm. read more

This is the spot to get amazing food! The food here has amazing flavor and hits the spot. The food is made fresh to order and comes with your choice of toppings. The milkshakes are very delicious and is the perfect way to end off your meal. The service here is amazing. The staff is very nice! The owner comes out and checks to see how the customers are doing and to see if how they are doing. Walking in you already know you are coming in to an amazing place to eat. The ambiance is very reminiscent of the first location that was opened two years ago on the Eastern Shore. I love the art on the wall and the pictures on the wall showing where it all started. If you want a nice place to get some food with your friend or family, this is the place. Here the food is always fresh and never frozen. Here you are guaranteed to walk away with a great meal and a full stomach. 10/10 recommend this place! read more

Established in 2022.

Hello my name is Henry Smith and I am the owner of Smashers. In 2022 at the age 18 I launched Smashers food truck. Hiring all my best friends that still operate the food truck to this day, I must admit I was nervous on opening day. I was confident in my food but faced some self doubt. After completing the first summer running Smashers food truck, I felt electric. The response we got from our customers filled me with confidence behind Smashers. Before Smashers I was notorious for my laziness. This venture has given me a purpose and I wake up everyday excited to serve & watch people experience my food for the first time while seeing their faces light up from enjoyment. Now at the age of 20 I opened Smashers first restaurant in Norfolk! This will be the first of many and I hope everyone who has read this far comes and tries us out!

For a place that positions itself as a serious burger spot, seasoning the meat feels like Burger 101. The fries were good. They offer different seasoning options, but I kept it simple with salt and pepper. I also ordered the Cheerwine sangria, which sounded like it would be something special. In reality, it mostly tasted like regular sangria that someone carbonated. Not bad, just not particularly interesting. Service was friendly and quick, which I appreciated. Overall, the meal was fine. But when your whole mission is basically "we're the burger experts," it's a little surprising when the burger tastes like the seasoning got left in the kitchen.

If you're not able to find parking, they have plenty of paid street parking. I also want to add that they do offer discounts but to service members who are in uniform. Service members rarely ever wear their uniforms just to dine out unless they are on official orders or are working full time. I find that a bit unfortunate because the value veterans and military service members bring should be honored while they are and are not in uniform so I hope that the management changes that policy someday. They offer no other forms of discounts as I asked about teachers and emergency personnel too just to give people something additional when seeking this place out. It's still a good lunch spot tho.

Who really walks around with $300 cash in pocket to pay for dinner without a credit card fee. JUST ADD IT IN YOUR MENU PRICES!!!! The Boar Ragu was truly not boar but probably run of the mill ground beef and the four tiny slices of steak on the Caesar salad was a joke. There are so many other lovely restaurants along this block that this is a skip right past for the future.

I'll be honest my experience didn't start off great. My order was initially incorrect, as the burger I received was missing the toppings I had asked for. On top of that, a few members of the staff seemed visibly frustrated, which made the atmosphere feel a bit off. However, I want to highlight the exceptional service I received from Malique. Despite the situation, he remained calm, courteous, and professional. He took full responsibility, made sure my burger was remade correctly, and even offered me a complimentary beverage to make up for the inconvenience. His attitude and effort truly turned the experience around. Mistakes can happen, but it's how they're handled that matters and thanks to Malique, I left feeling much better about the visit. As a DV survivor, I am morally obliged to write a review warning people not to go to this establishment. They made a disturbing advertisement online portraying MURDERING a woman and when called out on it by DV survivors and advocates, they doubled down. This is not a safe establishment. These are not people who deserve your hard earned money. I'm disgusted and appalled at this behavior. Beyond shameful. The photo is the part where he "jokingly" shoots a woman for asking a simple question. Murder isn't funny. I know Gabby Petito's cousin personally, I saw the toll it took on her. I'm so glad I stopped by Smashers Burger in Norfolk, VA! This place is a total gem. The burgers? Juicy and packed with flavor. The fries? Shoestring perfection - crispy and addictive. Everything I ordered came out immaculate, from my triple smasher, to the chili cheese fries, to the milkshake, everything tasted excellent. On top of that, the service was excellent. The worker that took my order, I think his name was Manolo, was very charismatic and helped me out a lot. Then his friend working the fryer, was Javier I think, and he made my French fries perfect with the right amount of crisp. Met the owner!! So sweet. I got the single smasher with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and smasher sauce and it was very delish!!! I split a large fry with my daughter which was a perfect serving but they could've been cooked a little longer and they weren't hot.
