This Smash burger is newly built located right off of Essex Street. This was my second time at Smash, I'm not really a fan but the burgers were edible. I ordered the New Jersey burger that includes apple-wood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, raw and caramelized onions. I ordered the smash fries to go along with that as well. They should have the option to have combo meals to make it easier for customers. A word of advice, stay away from the haystack onions it's very greasy and soggy. these are the same of onions they use in the burgers for toppings. We ordered it on the side and I felt one of arteries was getting clogged. On the bright side they have a refill drink station to wash it down. Went in as people from the Chipolte two doors away were sitting and eating in the SMASHBURGER Outside seating.. Inside was a mess on the floor. People guzzling a few glasses of fountain soda pop. Now with National TV Ads you would think they could afford Readable Menues with Prices as well what each item is/was/ Why is the MENU Board where you Order and PAY Highly not able to be read easily? Ordered once we all had to ask the staff what the SMALL PRINT Menue said and the prices too.. WTF! Not even prices on the menues nor what was in each item burger. After having now Multiple Television Ads ..they sure could afford a Readable Menu Board at least.. Prices are Very HIGH for what you obtain. Even the Haagen Daz Milkshakes were odd as a combo was $2.20 and no combo was $4.29? Ordered different items for all our parties and same ole .. Cold Food was served! Hot Food Hot | Cold Food should be Cold..! We all squinted not only for the Smallest Print of any Menu Board in our lives.. but the Bill was Very HIGH for what we all got. The burger was a complete mess when I opened it from the wrapper. The tomato/lettuce was hanging off to the side. Whoever assembled and made it did a rush job. Not only that.. Me and my fiancé really enjoy this fast casual burger place. With so many competitors near by it can be hard to differentiate yourself but smashburger has so many yummy options. I appreciate that they have a whole section of grilled chicken sandwiches and turkey burgers. Not many of the other fast casual burger places have a grilled chicken option or even turkey burgers so that's a big plus. They have so many options to customize your burger it was be overwhelming. I like to get the avocado bacon ranch chicken sandwich. They are also on the delivery dash app which is awesome. The grilled chicken patties can be rather thin so I usually opt for extra chicken because the more meat the better for me. The smash fries are nice and not too much. I'm not a fan of truffle oil so I like that they just use the olive oil instead. My fiancé usually gets the rodeo burger with bacon cheese BBQ sauce and onions, delicious! The tator tots are a tasty side as well. The only small gripe I have with the place is the lettuce can be somewhat wilted on the sandwiches. Wish they used shredded lettuce instead. Even though it is a fast food restaurant, the service at this location is pretty awesome. The cashier was super friendly and cared to ask each and for every table if their meal was ok and everything is good. Food is pretty good, no matter what you order. My husband thought we had been magically transported out of the metro NYC area and into the Deep South because of the courteous and attentive service. The food came out hot and delicious. So happy to have a smashburger so close to home! I ordered the avocado club burger which was cooked very nicely and topped with fresh avocado slices! The multigrain bun was soft and fresh as well. I also got a chocolate milkshake and an order of fries, both very good! My suggestion is to get the smaller order of fries because you still get enough to share with 1 or 2 other people (I think so at least).
