When we go to an airport the last thing we do is stop & eat before we find our gate BUT we saw Smashburger as soon as we got off our plane & that was it for us. We love Smashburger BUT the staff is usually horrible at Smashburgers. They are not friendly. They are grouchy. We keep going though bc we don't have one near us & the food is yummy. We love the Truffle Mushroom Burger & the Smash Tots that are drizzled with the tastiest oil & spices. We walked up to the register to order & surprise! instead of the typical grouch we were greeted by Amber & she was friendly! She took our order & smiled the entire time. She didn't even grimace when I asked for a cup of water. (I'm not a soda fan) We got our food so quickly! It was hot & fresh! When I bit into my burger the cheese was so gooey & the mushrooms were cooked to perfection... that truffle oil... oh my... Those smash tots were so good. I could NOT stop eating them & I was full.... We got Diet Coke & water. I love water. When I ran out, I asked Christian if I could have more & he was super sweet! He smiled the biggest smile & said "of course!". I thought... WHAT? 2 super sweet people?!?! While we were eating, I have to also mention Jonathan (I asked his name) was cleaning tables & sweeping. He was so considerate. He could've sprayed the table next to us & possibly sprayed us bc the tables were so close together but he skipped that table. It didn't go unnoticed bc our luggage & backpacks were between the tables. He was very thoughtful! I took time to write this review in the airport before flying off to London bc these 3 individuals deserved my time. They also deserve to be acknowledged, appreciated & recognized. Quite the enigma here. The fries were superb, the smashburger fizzled, badly. For starters, it wasn't even a smashburger, just a normal patty. A real smashed patty is thinner and crispy around the edges. The bun was awful. Gooey and inedible. And then the thing that made me toss the entire thing in the trash: those 'designer' dill pickles. They taste like they're pickled in cheap perfume. Nasty. The powerful pickle juice fouled the rest of the burger. I paid $40 for lunch and had a soft drink and a few fries. My wife ate half of hers. Honestly.... 5 stars due to the gluten free bun I'm pretty positive it's the Udis restaurant one that they only produce for restaurants and it is THE BEST. The double patty burger was yummy and seriously perfect with that bun. Perfect amount of cheese to compliment. The chocolate shake needs a bit more deeper chocolate flavor but otherwise good. If you're in the mood for a greasy but hot, fresh, and delicious burger in Terminal B, this is your place! It was the height of dinner time but they kept the line moving. The tables are shared between here and the bbq place next door so finding seats can be a bit challenging but doable. Good, friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer gluten-free buns for their burgers, and cook their fries in separate oil to avoid cross contamination. I love that they were open at 6:30 am for travelers who have been up all night. It only took 6 minutes to prepare my order, and they had wifi while I waited. The truffle burger was amazing, and the tater tots were great, too. Way better than I expected for airport good. I would go to this restaurant if it existed in my hometown. My only suggestion would be to advertise the allergy friendly options more prominently. I had a layover in Dallas and I needed to eat something other than chips and snacks!! I saw some people eating burgers and it looked yummy. I ended up ordering the Bacon Stack Smash Burger and tater tots. The burger was juicy with great flavor. The tots were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The young lady who took my order was very friendly and helpful. It was very busy and noisy. She repeated my order to insure what I ordered. Great service!! Overall, I received my order within five minutes. My food was fresh and tasty. My only gripe would be that the burger was small and the tots seemed even smaller for the price point. I decided to grab something to eat since I wasn't going to make it to my hotel until after midnight. I ordered a chicken sandwich, fries, and a Sprite. It all honestly it seemed like the workers would've preferred to be anywhere else but that particular smashburger. Searching for something to eat before my flight at the Dallas airport, my choices were few. It was either BBQ or Hamburger. There was a line of people waiting at Smashburgers, including a pilot. I figured he knew where to eat, so I took my place in line. There was a girl in training behind the counter with the manager. Both were friendly and courteous as they took my order. The busy open court tables were filled with customers eating burgers, so I had to wait for a table. I didn't notice anyone cleaning the tables, customers were doing their own bussing. My order came up within 10 minutes, and a nice roomy table with a view opened up. The burger was juicy and delicious with a smokey grilled flavor. Told myself to only eat 1/2 and save the rest for the flight, but that huge burger found its way down my belly as I couldn't stop eating. This was the best tasting burger I've had in a while. I went to a Smashburger only once before and then forgot about it because the food was mediocre and that particular business was poorly managed (it has long since closed). I got the double bacon stack smash, large smash fries, and a regular drink. The burger was really good but the fries were way too oily and made a big mess. The staff on shift were so zoned out that the person filling my drink didn't even notice that the cup had a tear in it and it was leaking soda all over the counter, and their hand. They got me a new drink after I mentioned this but they were like "oh, ok." Then the person handing out the orders was not being loud enough so nobody could hear when their order was being called. With a small tip, the total was $26. It was expensive but that's nothing compared to the highly overpriced food I had at one of the sit-down restaurants in this airport a few days ago. read more

The woman who took my order was very friendly and clearly informed me my order would take 10-15 minutes.  I appreciated that because if I was in a rush to my flight I could have declined ordering. It also let me know everything is made fresh--no heat lamps. There was a long line of customers that wouldn't end, and it was 1:45 in the afternoon. My chicken strips and tater tots came fresh and hot, and I was glad they included ketchup in the bag. But the strips were over cooked, so they were dry. Did they fry too long? Was the oil too hot? Don't know.  But major disappointment.  The tots weren't bad. I guess I shouldn't expect much for chicken at a burger place, but this was a kids meal, so I think care should have been taken. read more

What a wonderful spot to grab a hearty meal between flights! The reviews made me a little nervous however I was really craving a Turkey burger and their rosemary fries. Another perk is the gluten free bun! To start the line was short and the wait less than 5 min. You can also place the order using the AA app and they will have it ready if you do not have much time between your connecting flights. The atmosphere was loud and it was hard to hear the Gal at the register, thankfully she was patient with my clogged up ears... ha! The Turkey burger was moist, flavorful and all around hit the air. The gluten free bun was warm, moist and light.... Not the hard cardboard or fall apart bread most of us celiacs are used too. I did tell them I had a gluten allergy and while they can not guarantee cross contamination they did do their best. The fries are one of my favorites at smash burger so you can imagine my excitement to get some rosemary fries while I waited during my 3 hour layover. All around I am giving this spot a 5 for location, time prep, flavorful food and friendly customer service.
