Yes, its fatty but who cares, every good tasting burger/fries/shakes are fatty. Just hit the gym, LA fitness is right there (planet fitness is even cheaper). I have to give this place 5 stars primarily for the quality & taste of the food and the clean restaurant and bathroom. I never had the burger because I'm not a "burger-girl", I usually have the fried or grilled chicken sandwich, normally the feta & spinach option or avocado and bacon. So last night I had the avocado and bacon fried chicken sandwich, regular fries and strawberry shake (YUMMY!!!). Their shakes are top notch and the chicken sandwich was good too, hot and cooked to perfection, tasty and crispy lol. As for the service, well I am satisfied with it. I usually love coming to smash but today was a total disaster. I ordered online because I was rushing and when I got there I waited 20 minutes only to learn that they already had my food ready and it was pushed to the side. The cashier was so rude. She gave me and my friends so much attitude when we asked simple questions. For example: I ordered fries with my burger and it wasn't in the bag so when I told her about it she just rolled her eyes and said "okay we'll make them" like it was a burden! One of my friends has a gluten allergy so when we saw that the bun in his burger was different from the normal and we asked if it was a gluten free bun she literally ignored us thankfully the cook jumped in and assured us it was gluten free. Stopped in for lunch. It was my first Smashburger experience. I ordered the Baja burger. The burger was tasty and juicy. The bun was fresh and had nice flavor. The toppings all tasted fresh as well and the guacamole, chipotle mayo, and jalapeño gave the burger some nice heat. The construction was a bit odd in that the toppings were piled in the top half of the bun which made putting it together a bit messy. The fries were a big disappointment. I ordered the regular fries since I was not in a mood for the taste of rosemary. It said they had sea salt, but there was no salt on them. They were fairly bland and not crisp enough for shoestring fries. I also treated myself to a cookies and cream milkshake which was very good. It was thick but drinkable and made with real ice cream. They also give you the stuff that's left over in the shaker so it's basically two portions. The meal was fine overall and the setting is nice, but the food is not out of this world. Other than that the food here is typical fast food fair, with the exception of how smashburger season's their beef and fries. Smashburger has their seasoning down. The burgers are decent- the smash burger with the zesty sauce is my favorite. The fries are a little skinny for my taste- the sweet potato are better than the regular. What I get when there is NO on premise manager & NO on premise supervision is burned bacon & burned grilled chicken resulting in a bad tasting Avocado Grilled chicken with bacon smash. Their cooks have not yet figured out how to burn the avocado. So, anticipating that the cook will burn the flavor and taste out of the 2 two inch pieces of bacon & 1 very thin flattened chicken patty, I specifically order it with instructions to NOT BURN the bacon & chicken. But the Smashburger cook(s) do not care. They have no skills and do not care how poorly they perform their job. The absent owner, nonexistent manager & nonexistent supervisor have no clue what their employees do or don't do. Since I or someone else drives to pick up my take out order, calling & attempting to get a replacement is double work for me, my car & more gas. And when they put tomatoes on it, which because I am allergic to them, & tell the ordering person NO TOMATOES, the cook adds tomatoes anyway. There is no quality and no control. I absolutely dread the service here, notably from a few of the cashiers (Lebron and Ashley, I believe). They are like the stereotypical fast food employee who absolutely does not want to be there....multiplied exponentially. It almost seems like they make an effort to be as rude and unhelpful as possible to drive away the customers. They recently increased the prices as well. I picked up a plain salad (no chicken), and it was almost 8 bucks for a salad slightly larger than a side salad. It's a nicer, fresher version of a burger joint. I usually get the burger with the avocados (I love Avocados/Paltas!), fries and their iced tea and it's pretty good. Similar to Bobby's burger palace, except slightly cheaper (barely), and similar options as the nicer burger joints. Actually it's more like bbp as opposed to zin burger. You order up front and they bring the food to you - just like bbp. And then you have the value aspect- similar to bbp, not really worth what they charge. Decided to go on a dinner date to Smash Burger after me and the lady had an underwhelming experience with fondue the previous friday. Cashier was notably stoned, which I didn't mind because if I were stoned I'd want to be at Smashburger too. Ordered a Jersey burger with no blue cheese or mayo and letuce and tomato on a whole wheat bun and fries along with a root beer (soda machine as out of order that night). He offered to give me a frosted mug at no charge (not to keep) which was pretty cool. She got a BBQ bacon & cheddar burger with fries as well. Overall it was about $21, not too bad. They give you a number and you bring that to a table (self seating) and they bring your food out shortly thereafter . Stoned dude forgot to mention I didn't want blue cheese or mayo because they came with alot of both. BBQ bacon burger came out perfectly though. I was so hungry that I decided to eat it anyway, and it was still really tasty. Burger has alot of seasoning and flavor, and the bun never got soggy, which is a huge thing for me personally. Had crunchy onions along with bacon (A little chewy), and in general was delicious. BBQ burger was slightly messy but great as well. Fries were standard shoestring, nothing special, didn't really have flavor (although they have an option for "Smash" fries which have rosemary and olive oil). Overall both burgers were really tasty and well worth the calories. Would definitely go again, would love to try one of their shakes. So frustrated with this location. I started ordering online in the middle of the March pandemic shutdown. At the time they did a decent job. The last four recent orders were all a mess. First the driver didn't show up to pick up my order, so I had to go there personally and the staff seemed completely bothered to help (though they got the manager who was helpful). The next three orders have all been RAW. Not basic undercooked raw but completely raw. They basically threw them on the grill long enough to look cooked on the outside but the inside was completely pink. Meh-there are so many burger places that exist, especially in the tri-state area that Smashburger pales in comparison. I've had 2 experiences at Smashburger. The first experience was enough to make me not go back again, but I was famished the second time I stepped into Smashburger and hoping that the next experience would be better, but alas that was not the case. The first time I was in Smashburger I ordered a cheese burger without the bun, since at the time I was dealing with dietary restrictions that would not allow me to eat the bread. The patty itself was so thin it was not even close to adequate meal. I was really put off my how little meat there was and how heavily SB relied on the bread and toppings to really complete the meal. It was super disappointing on top of which the burger itself seriously lacked seasoning. I found myself back at SB a few years later, desperate for something to eat. This time I only ordered the fries and a drink. Fries were super tasty and well-seasoned and thin, but the line to order was ridiculously long. Waiting in the line almost wasn't worth it, because there are so many other places out there to get fries and for a fraction of the cost. Regardless of the fact that the fries were really good, there are so many better places out there to get this type of food. I don't see myself venturing back anytime soon.. read more

This is the go to burger spot for my boyfriend and I. They have a 10% discount for military and emergency medical services, which has always been applied to our transactions (my boyfriend is an EMT and we regularly eat here after his work shifts). Today we decided to grab our usual smash burger meal after one of his 12 hour shifts. He was in FULL UNIFORM (EMT patches, work uniform) and the young woman behind the register said " the 10% off is only for military". Although the sign outside says military AND emergency medical servicemen. She was adamant that the discount was ONLY for military, we are not ones to argue so we just paid the full price, received our meal and were on our way. I don't know if this young woman is new to the job or what but she couldn't even double check or maybe ask if EMS is included? The staff here is very friendly, they truly go above and beyond for customer service. For someone that knows how to eat out, depending on how and what you order some of there items are healthier then 5 guys and zinburger put together. They do have a large section burgers and chicken. Good food. Honestly, this is my favorite fast food burger. But, terrible customer service. My husband and I ordered delivery through the Smashburger website. Apparently, when you order online, your order gets passed off to either Grubhub or DoorDash but they have no way of tracking which service picked up your order. Hence the issue when the delivery person either stole our food or delivered it to the wrong address. Now, this is not Smashburger's fault, but the fact that there's no way to know who picked up your order is ridiculous. Also, no refund or compensation of ANY KIND was offered. The least we asked for was a refund of the tip I added for the delivery driver who screwed us. But nope. Nothing. The best they could do was offer to call one service while we called the other. Another one of our go to burger place. I go here frequently especially when they have promos in the app. Although not much recently. Burgers are very good although the is patty always bigger than the bun especially if you order the big option(you get a bigger patty on the same bun) fries are always perfectly cooked...they have the shoe string size so i guess its easier to make it crunchy outside. Onion rings are just ok...its the haystack type so depends on preference...i personally want the big breaded onion rings like the ones in red robin. Their sweet potato fries are also good. For burgers, I recommend the new jersey(with blue cheese) and truffle mushroom swiss...and their triple double and classic smash is a good basic option as well.
