This is delicious for a burger spot, 4 stars just cause it can get a little claustrophobic when it gets busy but that can easily be solved by ordering take out. The service was very friendly and patient to explain what they had to offer and what might be best suited for you. Overall their sauces and their menu are yum. I would come again. read more

Wow, this place has seriously gone down hill. Stopping by for a quick yuck late lunch, I asked for a double bacon club cheeseburger on a lettuce bun. What I saw when I got home definitely did not match the picture of what it should look like at all. Let's go over everything that went wrong here... - one single small leaf of lettuce on top and barely 1 enough to cover even half a burger on the bottom - old, barely recognizable bacon, looked more like bacon bits assembled to look like half a piece of bacon, which brings me to my 3rd point - where the bacon??? You get barely 1 slice of bacon on a double bacon club?!?!? - the patty tasted old, like i got someone else's order from an hour ago and they didn't feel like cooking up a new one - last but not least, i asked for cheese damn it! How do you screw that up? I'd say the only saving grace on my order today was the brussel sprouts. Thankfully I had those cause I would've starve otherwise considering I tossed my meal in the garbage. read more

Came here for dinner recently with the family. I ordered the bacon avocado club burger bunless, my son had the smash burger and my bf had the triple double. Burgers were decent, you can definitely tell it was made from fresh beef. what I would definitely order again are the haystack onions now those were delicious! Nice, tasty, thinly sliced onions with a side of ranch. The boys also enjoyed their food, bf would order an extra patty next time because they are a bit smaller for his liking otherwise he liked it. Customer service wise was decent as well. It was our first time ordering and we didn't feel rushed or annoyed by the cashier taking out order which I appreciated. read more

Never again...they are too slow. 20 minutes for a burger with cheese and fries. One girl was hustling, getting orders together, one cashier, and 3 people in the back cooking - 9 customers huddled smh read more

Absolutely the worst burger ever from Smashburger! Below is my order with a comment next to each line: DOUBLE COLORADO TURKEY BURGER * Add BBQ Sauce - didn't get * Add Pickles - didn't get * No Mayo - ok * No Tomatoes - ok * No Lettuce - ok * No Grilled Anaheim Chiles - ok * Substitute Pepper Jack Cheese * Substitute American Cheese - didn't get * Substitute Bun * Substitute Classic Bun - ok Their website makes ordering messy ... it should just have you choose what you want, not have to click off what you don't want and then add what you do want. All I wanted was a double turkey burger with American cheese, BBQ sauce, and pickle on a classic bun. What I received were two over-salted turkey burgers with liquid melted cheddar, and nothing else. The sweet potato fries were tasteless and soggy. I used to be a huge fan when I worked across the street from one of their stores but this food was unrecognizable. I could have bought something similar at Wendy's for 1/2 the price and probably would not have been at all disappointed. It is truly shameful what is happening to this brand. Maybe I should have read the reviews before ordering myself, but who knew this could possible happen??? Lesson learned ... FYI: Smashburger Customer Service, I already provided feedback through your website so no need to ask me to do that for you as well. Thanks. read more

Came here with the family. We ordered two burgers and french fries. Everything was pretty decently good except for the fries. The fries were lukewarm, dry, and tasted like it's been sitting out for a long time. Not sure if the problem is only with this restaurant or that it was just a once in a blue moon occurrence. read more

Overall: Great family like spot. Will be back! Motivation: I decided to try this place out for lunch because someone gifted me with a BOGO coupon. Food: had the New Jersey burger sans blue cheese and it did not disappoint! It was hearty and full of flavor (the beef was a bit too salty but not enough to take away from the overall taste value). Not sure if this burger is specific to the location or the entire region but it's definitely worth the order. The spicy mayo paired with the bacon and fried and grilled onions was delicious! I also got a small order of the rosemary truffle fries. Another solid win for the day. The actual fries are a little skinny (not quite Steak n' Shake skinny but smaller than standard). I didn't even need ketchup or hot sauce. The butter, salt and seasoning was too yum. Make sure you order these, even to share! Service/Marketing: Upon checkout (they bring the food to your table after the order is made), my receipt included a $2 coupon off my next order in the coming 2 weeks. And though I'm thankful and pleased with today's order, it's unlikely I will be back that soon. Perhaps a 30 day coupon is more realistic. Just a thought. Cleanliness: there were a few tables that needed to be bussed but I give them as pass because it was lunch rush. Overall, the place is pretty spotless. Location: The entrance is a little hard to get to because this strip lives directly off the highway (my GPS was abbot confused) but a parking lot is available once you make it in. read more

If I could give this DUMP 0 stars I would. I ordered from here on Tuesday night, 4 burgers, 2 fries, 1 tater tot order. Here's the breakdown: FOOD POISONING!!!!! there was 4 of us that ate, & 4 of us projectile vomiting and had to go to the hospital because of this food. So what do I do? I call the location and ask if I could speak to the manager. Hi can I speak to the manager "Hi who's calling?" I placed an order yesterday and just want to speak to the manager " okay how can I help you " What's your name? "HELLO my NAME is CHRIS I am the MANAGER" -- The attitude was SO bad I thought he was trying to film an episode of the bad girls club. After telling him three others and I had food poisoning from their food he proceeded to ask what I would like him to do about it. First of all, AN APOLOGY!!!! SOMETHING NICE!!! I said to him he needs to check his restaurant and clean it or something and that I wanted a refund, again he got nasty with me and when I kept getting snappy back, he got angry and said "I'm not dealing with this" and hung up. OK Chris, I couldn't care less if you care about your job or not, but when me & my family's health comes to the table, I'm gonna be a Karen. Who even hired this guy as a manager? Chris if you see this-- you a bitch -- @ the end of the day, this place is dirty and their customer service is so trash it might as well be a skit for a new tv show. Get your burgers somewhere else. Your stomach will thank me. read more

Oh Smashburger... It's really a 2 1/2 for me but I'm rounding up. So I want to like Smashburger because it sounds cool and the restuarant has a cool vibe and the staff are all friendly and all.... but the food is just NOT good. I always think it'll be better next time and try it again but....time after time it has disappointed me. The burgers are just....dry and not juice and the toppings are just.... average. I mean, everything about this place's food is just average or below. It's got a lot of seating and I'm sure it's great for a quick lunch hour run.... but overall, the burgers are just not good and there are just much better burger places in the area to try instead of going to Smashburgers. read more

Love the burgers and the shakes (especially when they give you the leftover from the mixing cup). Personally, if I were the employee making the shake, I'd probably keep the leftovers for myself. As for the fries, they need to do something about them. They're thin and tend to come out super crisp. I prefer a thicker, more limp fry but maybe that's just me. read more

We used to go to the one in Montclair, but my wife works near this one, so she picked it up for us last night. One of the reasons why I love their burgers is because they are really flavorful and not greasy at all. Add a little ketchup and you are good to go! Last night we got a buffet! I tried the French onion burger, wife had the chicken sandwich, her dad had the triple double. For side we got fries, we were supposed to get smash fries with extra sauce on the side, but they forgot to put it in the bag. I wanted to call them up and say something, but it was $3.50 and we weren't going all the way there for just that... We also got the onion straws and Brussels sprouts. My burger was pretty good. I added some ketchup and it was amazing! Not sure how other burger chains get it so wrong, but atleast they do it right. Wifes chicken was pretty good also. It could have been dried a little better before being put on the bun, either that or they need to change their oil. Her dad really enjoyed his burger. All the fried stuff we got besides the fries were super greasy! Like bad! It almost had enough oil on it that I could deep fry them again myself! Fries were the exception. I really wanted their smash fries, but the plain ones were pretty good. Tots were super soggy on the bottom. The ones on top were edible. Brussels sprouts could have been drained better, but good. The onion straws used to be so amazing, but last night just dripping in oil.... I've been to several smashburgers and usually have a good experience, Last night must have been a bad exception... read more

Another chain pumping out above average burgers and shakes? Yup. Damn tasty French fries with a nice salty crunch? Yup. Nice selection of buns you don't see at the other places? Yup. Solid portion size for a combo, roughly $10 a person like their competitors? Yup. We've tried both the beef and the black bean burgers and both were mighty good. (We went with the various speciality options - all were excellent.) On the "Burger & Shake Scale" Smashburger ranks way above Mooyah (who doesn't?!) but falls short of the almighty Shake Shack. Only complaints: the parking lot which verges on madness (thanks to Trader Joe's) and how the heck can you offer a 'New Jersey Burger' and NOT have Taylor ham as one of the key ingredients?! read more

I like smashburger because the burgers taste similar to shake shack burgers. I've been to this location multiple times and never had a problem with the food or service. I recommend getting smash fries instead of regular fries because they taste much better! Just okay. Got a lettuce wrapped burger with sweet potato fries. While the burger was good, the sweet potatoes were very poorly done and not worth the $3.25 or whatever it costs. The fries were cold and soggy. Definitely not made in the last couple hours. It was a buzzkill as the burger was freshly made with good ingredients. It would have been much better and likely healthy to have gotten a double burger or a separate burger in lieu of the fries. read more

Really annoying, not being peddy just annoyed!!! First time to this Smash burger btw parking sucks!!! First off the cashier super bothered to be interrupted while having a convo with her peers!!! While placing my order I wanted a float but instead of Rootbeer ($4.29) I wanted Coke. She proceeds tell me that she would have to charge me for the coke separately. This really upset me only bc it seemed trivial ($2.29 vs happy customer). You charge me $4.29 for two scoops of ice cream, lol. My favorite is in Riverside mall Hackensack, super chill and non confrontational. They also make my Coke float with out charging extra for Coke...Totally ridiculous! Btw will never be back here! My drink total $6.58 NOT FAIR!!! read more

Overall this is a good burger joint. I usually get the classic smash with cheese and it's really good. The fries and haystack onions are very good as well. The shakes are delicious and worth every penny. The servers are always friendly but sometimes the line gets a bit long and there is a wait. First: the wait was long. Only one cashier Lebron (who was nice), but if a busy time they should have had two cashiers. Second: I had a coupon from online (on my phone) that did not expire until 3/31/17 and was told they were no longer excepting them because it didn't have a bar scan, when it clearly it had a plu code. And they should also take down the coupon if they are no longer excepting it or else honor their promotions..... and that's why this time your receiving two stars for this visit. Third: the food was okay. Nothing to really complain about with the food. read more

This Smashburger is the worst. When you walk in, you're completely ignored, even though staff is walking around and seemingly available. I've gotten here 3 times and never once has my order been correct - today i ordered a regular burger with smash fries - get into the car with sweet potatoe fries and wrong sauce on my burger. How?? The food isn't even good. Super greasy, weirdly cooked, fries are definitely old. I've learned my lesson here, this was the last time for sure. read more

Been here twice so far and I definitely would say it's slightly better than 5 guys...although I do love five guys French fries. The burgers at smashburger are pretty delicious. And they have a wider variety of burgers and toppings to choose from as well as chicken sandwiches, salads , and milkshakes than most burger joints . You could either create your own burger or choose one of their specialities. The first time I went I created my own burger and the second time I went I had the bbq, bacon and cheddar burger (specialty burger) which consisted of bbq sauce cheddar, bacon, haystack onions straws on top of a juicy burger. Oh and it's served on an egg bun, very soft and fluffy. The smashfries are garlicky nommssss. Free refills on soft drinks! read more

Smashburger - My own creation , topped with fried egg bacon aged cheddar mayo and ketchup. With smashfries. - Burgers Near Me - Clifton, New Jersey

So I think this is my third or fourth Smashburger review...I will keep this short and sweet. I love the burgers here...yes, they smash them thin so you can't get them cooked medium or medium rare, but they're delicious and the toppings are fresh. Go with the New Jersey Burger if you like bacon and bleu cheese, you won't be disappointed. I will say that today they were a little skimpy on the bleu cheese, but I will give them a pass this ONE-TIME only because everything else was great. I love the fries-thin, rosemary and salt on them...Just.SO.DAMN.GOOD. Finally, today I had a shake that was excellent. I've been on this sweet and salty kick recently and they make a salted caramel shake. I could have ordered two and probably been good with my caloric intake for two days...but every sip was worth every step I will have to take on the treadmill or elliptical. I still say they are better than Five Guys...and SO much better than Bobby's Burger Palace. read more
