For the main event, we ordered the Mixed Grill for 2, and THIS is absolutely the move if it's your first time. You get St. Louis ribs, chicken, brisket, cornbread, and your choice of two sides. We chose mac and cheese and fries. Everything was really good, but the brisket was one of my favorites. Tender, smoky, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted from a BBQ spot. The ribs were also very good, the chicken was solid, and the fries were crispy and delicious. But let's talk about that CORNBREAD. I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be the best cornbread I've ever had anywhere. Whatever they're doing back there, PLEASE don't change it. For drinks, I tried the Not A Marg and an Old Fashioned made with Woodford Reserve Straight Bourbon. The Not A Marg was my favorite of the two and paired nicely with the meal. For the money, I definitely think the Mixed Grill for 2 is the way to go. It gives you the opportunity to sample several of their meats and sides without ordering half the menu. My go-to sauces are Little B's BBQ sauce (which has a little chipotle for a nice kick), Jamaican jerk sauce, and roasted garlic mayo. I always get the brioche bun even though it has a tendency to fall apart, resulting in a deteriorating burger that looks really sad after two to three bites. The wings are tasty and the skin is nice and crispy. The maple habanero wings could've used more sauce, but the Jamaican jerk wings were spicy and flavorful. I'm a faithful fan through and through. Now bring some of that customization to more burger joints in NYC!

Last year I also tried their Pineapple Sweet Chili wings and Jalapeño Cilantro wings. Pineapple Sweet Chili was a mix of sweet pineapple flavor with a mild chili sauce. More sweet than spicy, kind of sticky and tropical. Jalapeño Cilantro was a fresher, herb forward flavor with jalapeño heat and cilantro brightness. Not super heavy or saucy, more of a lighter, zesty wing. Overall, Hudson Grille is more of a vibe spot than a dedicated wing destination.
