The food was so good we decided to order take-out on this lovely taco Tuesday. The food is flavorful. They offer authentically good spicy sauces and great Mole sauce for the Enchiladas and Fajitas. Portions are substantial and delicious! We are happy to know an authentic Mexican restaurant closer to home. 4 stars (minus 1 for greasy fried empanadas that tasted like the oil was old) Sorry. My friend and I went to Burrito Poblano for an afternoon lunch on September 26, 2025. We started off with Queso Fundito with Queso de Chihuahua, and we added Chorizo. As our main choice, I had the Frajitas with Chicken and my friend the Enchiladas with Mole. The food was fabulous! Fresh ingredients, very large portions, and very tasty. Yes, yummy! This is an authentic style Mexican restaurant. I ate my leftover Frajitas for my Saturday breakfast... WOW, delicious when reheated! I have ordered take out and delivery before, yet what a great sit-down restaurant. Great music, not too loud. The service was excellent. Those that complained about high prices... these are the times we are in, yet the portions are large and very generous. We both ordered a burrito to take home. I believe in supporting local businesses, and Burrito Poblano is absolutely one of them. This restaurant is a must for great food! read more

First off, I've been supporting BP since they opened and I love their food. It's consistently delicious hence why I keep coming back. So why the two stars? I've had a few bumpy experiences when dining there but this time was really unacceptable. Upon ordering drinks we asked for chips n salsa but were told they are no longer complimentary. Bad move BP!! Every Mexican restaurant in the area gives complimentary chips n salsa (except for La Casa!). Then, my order was wrong and the waiter just told me sorry and walked away!!!! Didn't offer to correct it or anything else. Despite being wrong, I still ate it but I left feeling very upset and let down. This is not how you treat your customers. I'll stick with the other Mexican options available in the area when dining out. read more

The restaurant is very old school. It has an extensive menu and the food is nicely prepared. The service was very nice and efficient. We enjoyed a quesadilla and a bowl. We would return as the food is good, not great, but good. read more

Very cute neighborhood. This cozy restaurant feels like you're in Mexico. Loved the wall paintings. The service was out of this world. These beautiful cocktails have to be made by a professional mixologist! I would just go there to taste all the delicious cocktails on the menu. I really loved this authentic Mexican food. The Queso Fundido, Chihuahua queso with chorizo was yummy. My favorite was the Tamales with shredded chicken. These were probably the best Tamales I've ever tried. They incorrectly charge sales tax on gift cards purchased. I do not mean the 3% credit card fee, I mean the 8% sales tax. Gift cards are not considered goods for sale. Instead, it is a purchase meant to be used for payment in the future. Therefore, gift cards should not have sales tax charged on them. As an accountant I explained that to the manager but he did not understand. So in short he taxing the purchaser of the gift and the person who uses it.. I assume he pockets that extra tax charged. I recommend he checks with his accountant before he gets audited. read more

Get takeout! Service was mediocre at best (the guy was not too bad to me, but pretty darn rude to my husband), but the food was pretty darn good. The salsa verde was fantastic, and I loved the enchiladas I ordered. Tuckahoe is lucky to have 2 pretty amazing spots for great Mexican American food one A chain & Poblano a family friendly local Spanish spot I love to grab some favs from. The Burrito I had was superb filling & blessed with great flavor. The Guacamole Yum Yum & the nachos with the Jalapeños oh my!!!! You will never go wrong at The Poblano. The drinks are amazing even though the food was ready I had to have a good Tequila based margarita & wow was I happy I did. This restaurant USED to be a great local place with terrific sangria and very good food. I would go there at least twice a month. However, it has changed... I'm not sure if it's new management or just a re- do of their business. They have changed everything- the food is just "ok" - the sangria is definitely cheaply made and tastes like fruit punch - and the ambiance is not as authentic, with very NON Mexican/Hispanic music. If they are trying to be "trendy" they lost me as a customer. There are many other Mexican restaurants nearby and this one WAS special .. but there seems to be PROBLEMS with Poblano . They should return to what made them so popular and stop cutting corners or they will find themselves empty of their customers. read more

This is not the same Burrito Poblano we used to frequent. I only went there because it was a place we used to love to go to, but that tailed off over the last few years. So today I went back to have a familiar favorite. The staff was nice. I had a burrito and one unsweetened iced tea and the bill after tax was 24.50. I basically got a burrito with some spinach on the side. No chips and dip and the food was not really that great. It was not worth the lonely burrito on some flakes of spinach. I was charged $6 for an unsweetened iced tea. I was also charged a credit card fee of 3%. After tip, it was $29.50. I basically spent $30 bucks for a lonely burrito with spinach flakes and an iced tea. I'm not going back. read more

The worst service I've had in a while. There was only one person seated at the bar and no other patrons in the restaurant. When I asked for a table for two the waiter just stared at me so I asked if they were still doing indoor seating and he grudgingly led us to the furthest table in the dining area. He never responded to any statement we made even when we thanked him. He made me feel uncomfortable so I didn't order anything. The salsa looked like it had water added to it, my fiancé said the chicken empanadas weren't very good (had huge chunks of wet stewed chicken) and that the chicken tacos were decent. This place is awesome! The food is great and service as well. I've eaten at the restaurant twice and ordered takeout multiple times. Always great. Margaritas are good and strong. My favorite foods are ground beef tacos, shrimp tacos, guacamole, and the salad dressing and green sauce are really good. Even my kid's cheeseburger was delicious! I used to love coming here!! Came here a few months ago with friends and the waiter WAS HORRIBLE! I asked for a tequila mule which is not a big ask at a Mexican restaurant and the waiter was like "ah what ah what" in my face and basically told me to go somewhere else and once i said i did not want a drink and was ok with water he continued to try to get me a drink EVERY time he came to the table. Makes me very uncomfortable. Do not go here unless you want your night to be ruined. read more

I came here to celebarate a friends birthday party on a Monday night. I was incredibly excited as there are no small time Mexican restaurants near me. There were about 20 of us, but the rest of the restaurant was empty. I saw this as a positive in that service would be much faster. Before we ordered our food the waitress came by to take drink orders. Without exaggeration, one of the guests asked 3 separate times to 2 different employees for a drink and it didn't come until someone else pointed it out after the fact. I ordered the steak burrito with guacamole which was extra, but that's expected. Food came after about an hour of wait, which was odd considering that the restaurant was empty. I wasn't a fan of the burrito for a number of reasons. The biggest issue was the quality of the steak. It felt as though I was getting the ends of the meat and it did not taste great. One of the other guests had actually made a comment to me about how his chicken being incredibly stringy and not tasting good. The next issue was the amount of guacamole on my burrito. The first bite had a bit of it, but it was nearly empty in the rest. It was as if it was quickly smeared on with a knife. Overall, I wanted to really enjoy this place as it seemed like an authentic Mexican restaurant and something that wasn't like one of those chain Mexican restaurants. However, Burrito Poblano fell short and I really wish it hadn't. read more

Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. When ordering, I wanted to exchange one of the items in my order due to the fact that I had selected it accidentally on Doordash. I called for my concern and I was yelled at repeatedly while trying to explain the story in a proper manner. I will never recommend nor go to this spot ever again for how they treated me. read more

We ordered from here pretty regularly but stopped after repeatedly getting chicken that was rubbery and stale chips.

They have the salsa and hot sauce, but this is the second time in a row the chicken in the burritos is odd - sort of hard and rubbery at the same time. Also the guacamole was expensive and didn't taste very good this time. It has been better in the past. We love this restaurant but in the last couple of months the quality is going down. Burrito Poblano recently renovated and expanded. Here are the great things about the new and improved Burrito Poblano: 1. Margaritas! And they are terrific! 2. Great food! This is not new. We always loved the food at BP but would often go to a Mexican restaurant in the next town because we couldn't get margaritas at BP. So happy I don't have to go to that place anymore. This place is great! Food is so yummy! Normal sized portions, delicious food, perfectly seasoned. I am a snob when it comes to oversalting food- and this place hits the sweet spot. I had the tacos (best was the shredded beef Mexican style on a soft shell- so good I ordered another after I ate my first two). My husband ordered a steak quesadilla with jalapeño and onions- he said it was spicy and delicious! we shared a large order of rice and beans. Sangria was delicious, full of fruit, and strong! He loved the coconut flan! Best part was the service! Wait staff was the happiest group of servers I have ever seen! They inquired multiple times regarding our food, and quickly brought anything and everything we asked for! We even watched as a waiter happily cleaned up a spilled glass of water a baby had knocked over- all while smiling and talking to the baby! You really can't get much better than that !!! read more
