We like this place very much and go here regularly. Our visit Sunday was not up to par. The place was fairly empty; the bar area busier. Ordered cocktails and waited... Server came to take food out order and we asked about our drinks; be here in two minutes. Our food order was in front of us before our drinks ever arrived. Lesson learned, don't let them pressure you into ordering food until drinks in hand or they add bar staff. Burgers were awesome as always, as are the fries. Another pet peeve: one diner is finished with their meal and they come to clear dishes while the other person is still eating. This was not necessary; there was no wait and the place was at least half empty. Haven't experienced this at Tavery before and hope this was a one time off afternoon. Your service experience shouldn't overshadow an otherwise good experience. read more

3.8. First ever visit to The Tav'ery in Bronxville. The former Coals restaurant is nicely decorated and the menu can be called eclectic as it offers a wide mix of different types of cuisine. I thought the mahi mahi tacos were good and the reaction to other dishes ranged from good to ok. Calimari was just ok- not crispy. Service was fine. Pricing was fair and even a bargain, $13, for a good glass of Pinot. We skipped dessert. The hostess was sweet. Hard to say if it would be an addition to our dining rotation but for Bronxville it just might check enough boxes for success. We will see. read more

So i honestly forgot to take pictures. But I could not say enough good thjngs about the food and the quality was amazing. I had the pat Freda hamburger and it was amazing, the cheese and the aioli and everything else was great the price was in line with what you would expect anyplace else The service was great and on top of things. The ambiance is perfect for a date night or a romantic evening out without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this place. read more

Came here for happy hour, but we actually ended up paying full price. It's fine though. The food was good. The pretzel bites were a little bit stale so I wouldn't get those again. The flatbread was pretty good but a little bit soggy. The wings were delicious and the calamari were delicious. The service was very fast and hovered over us a little bit but they were very accommodating so that was nice. We sat outside and the outdoor seating is very nice. Not sure if I would come again, but it was good for a quick happy hour read more

We decided to try something different close to home and checked out The Tav'ery in Bronxville. To our surprise, the road was closed off for a live music event sponsored by the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce. The band, a group of young guys, played a mix of low-key rock. The generous outdoor seating was a pleasant surprise, with tables set up on the sidewalk for two or four people. Because the street was barricaded, larger tables with tablecloths were arranged in the street, seating six to eight people--ideal for groups. Initially, I was hesitant about ordering a martini because the drinks are served in plastic cups when dining outdoors. A dry martini straight up in a plastic cup didn't quite appeal to me. But on the bright side, I decided to try one of their cocktails--the Coco margarita. It was strong, tasty, and even had a piece of coconut in it. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up having two! There were a few appetizers that caught our eye. On the waitress's recommendation, we went with the coconut shrimp, and it did not disappoint. The shrimp were fried to perfection with just the right amount of coconut flakes and batter. I loved how the batter stayed put when you bit into the shrimp. The sake soy sauce dip was next level--it was so good that I saved it to use with my fish & chips after we finished the shrimp. My entree was the fish and chips. The batter was lighter and much airer than the shrimp . Both batters equally good. The fish batter had a yellowish tint--perhaps from a touch of curry powder, though it wasn't noticeable in the taste. The fish was cooked perfectly, moist on the inside. I wasn't a big fan of the the chips. They are called sidewinder's. I prefer a more classic "chip", but that's just personal preference. The dish also came with a small side of coleslaw and tartar sauce. The menu described the coleslaw as "zesty," but it wasn't tangy, which I didn't mind. The tartar sauce, however, had a real zing to it, which I didn't care for. I ended up dipping my fish in the flavorful soy sake sauce instead. My husband ordered the skirt steak with vegetables, and it was a hit. The steak was nicely marinated and tender, while the vegetables, including small sliced baby potatoes, were cooked to perfection. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant itself is quite charming. However, when we return, I think I'd prefer to dine inside so I can enjoy real dinnerware and proper stemware for my cocktails. While the casual setup is understandable for outdoor dining, (plastic cutlery, paper-like plates and bowls, plastic cups) I prefer a more traditional experience (glass stemware, real plates and cutlery) when I'm paying for a higher-end meal. read more

Food is great. The burger rivals the best I've ever had. Pricing is reasonable and the staff attentive. Highly recommend

Ordered door dash and was so HAPPY with the food I can't wait to either order again or go to the restaurant! They've got nice sidewalk tables that look nice for a sunny day. Got the burger, was great and the fries were soooo good. read more

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch here with my God Daughter after a busy day running errands. I had to try the Pat LaFrieda Burger as recommended by the magazine "Westchester." That burger did not disappoint. My Goddaughter had their cod, which, although was lite and delicious, but after she had a bite of my burger, she had to eat the rest. I promised her we would come back and order their burgers again. I remember when this place was "Coals." The interior is stylishly decorated with a bit of a modern and bright flair. This place is definitely worth multiple visits which I will most likely fulfill read more

Having enjoyed being a regular at Ta'very since it opened, inc its always delightful staff, we were dismayed by the surliness of the waitress who served us at lunch today -- no greeting, no welcome, no smile, no charm, mo thanks for our business -- although we were almost the only patrons. I assume this is attributable to the change in ownership. We won't be back unless this changes. read more

Five Stars Isn't Enough! The Tav'ery is an absolute gem! I went yesterday and I still can't get over the food and service. I grabbed a table outside on a perfect day, and the atmosphere couldn't have been better--relaxed, vibrant, and ideal for enjoying great food. The calamari? Off the chains. Perfectly crispy, seasoned just right, and easily some of the best I've ever had. The sauce with it was incredible! And there's a reason why the Pat LaFrieda Original Beef Burger was voted Best Burger in Westchester--because it absolutely deserves it. Juicy, flavorful, cooked to perfection... it's the kind of burger you think about days later. I also tried the Chicken Francese--not bad at all, solid dish, but the burger definitely stole the show. Also I judged the fries on the look early but they proved me wrong. The fries were actually incredibly. This is the first time in my life going out to eat and being this shocked of how good everything went where I needed to leave a review to explain it. You need to get the calamari & Pat LaFrieda Original Beef Burger! Shoutout to Emma, our server--she was incredible! Super friendly, attentive without hovering, and made the whole experience even better. If you get a chance to read the review and go to eat ask for Emma if she's available and you won't regret it! If you're looking for great food, next-level service, and the perfect outdoor setup, The Tav'ery checks every box. Already can't wait to come back. read more

Ordered Waffle and Fried Chicken for brunch. Everything was good except that the fried chicken was not fresh. It was luke warm and meat was greyish. Nice restaurant and lovely staff. I had the Pat Lafrieda burger and it was delicious! The patty was juicy and I loved the sauce they used. I wish they had more burger options so I could try more. This is a toughy. Service was outstanding. Wine suggestion terrific. Food was good-just a few nits. Burgers weren't cooked to request-in fairness my friends didn't say anything. Beer battered cod was delicious! Fries were interesting and the dips/slaw were tasty. Brownie sundae was....ok. Brownie seemed a little stale although the ice cream was yummy. All in all I would return. read more

Great brunch spot! Came here on a Sunday afternoon and had a nice time with some family. I was still in the mood for breakfast so I ordered the steak and eggs. A tasty menu of excellent choices coupled with outstanding service. A neighborhood gem!

I had the unfortunate pleasure of going there for lunch last Friday. The restaurant was not busy, but it took the waiter over 10 minutes to come to my table. I ordered the French onion soup and the Chicken Francese. The onion soup came quickly and one taste you knew that it was microwaved. The soup was so hot it burnt my tongue while the cheese was not hot. After the second taste, i realized the the soup was spoiled. Had a horrible sour after taste. The the chicken came to my table. While the Francese sauce was good the chicken was so hard and tasted old. This was the worst meal I ever had in all of Bronxville! I will never go there again and encouraging all of my friends not to go also. read more

Stopped by 9/13/25 around 4:45 to enjoy a drink with my husband on a beautiful day after having a late lunch elsewhere, and we were turned away -- despite the empty sidewalk seating. We've been here few times before inside for dinner and at the bar so we thought it would be nice to stop on our way home for just a drink. Instead, we were told we had to order dinner in order to sit outside. Really disappointing and unwelcoming. If a place is comfortable turning customers away, they clearly don't need the business -- and if they have to force food on people just to fill tables, that feels pretty desperate. Won't be recommending this spot." read more

I LOVE this place located on "the other side of Bronxville". The Tav'ery has a newly comfortable feel about it, the food is DELICIOUS and the staff is friendly. This past Sunday's visit to the Tav'ery with my husband and my friend, had us all ordering my favorite, the Plain Burger, with our own favorite toppings. The burger was, as always, delicious and perfectly cooked. The 3 of us agreed, The Tav'ery's Plain Burger is THE BEST BURGER IN TOWN!!! Thank you to Francesca and Elvin for another enjoyable day out at The Tav'ery! See you again soon! read more

Stopped by for a quick drink and small bite around 9 pm last night. Staff was nice and the place is cute. They have some outdoor seating but we sat at the bar which had ample room. I loved my drink (healthy whale), my husband liked his (other paloma). The chicken Empanadas were minis but im not complaining - I liked how bite size they were while still being crispy and hot. Owner not customer focused. Came for a quick beer before catching train in quaint Bronxville. 14 of the 16 outdoor seats were empty but the owner would not let me sit there as the tables were only for dinner orders. I offered to leave if there were any arriving tables when I was there and she reluctantly said I could sit for a few minutes but that I would be moved promptly at 5:30 pm! I guess she showed me! Shocking, really. Perhaps it explains why the restaurant was empty and the wait staff seemed appalled. I ended up sitting until me stated removal time of 5:30pm. When I left, initial 14 empty seats were still empty. Oh, and while I sat there for my allowed 20 minutes, no one from the restaurant approached me to ask if I 'd like anything. Yikes! read more

So impressed with the Tav'ery which looks totally different from the restaurant that was formerly in this space! It has had a bright clean fresh remodel and looks beautiful!! I was looking for a healthy satisfying meal. Usually, when people hear healthy, it's not associated with good food. However, I had a cucumber and apple soup, served cold, similar to a gaspacho. And mahi mahi tacos. Both were excellent. The staff are very nice and professional. There were plenty of seats outside. A treat in a pleasant sunny day. Some seats offered shade with umbrellas. We sat under the shade of a tree. 5 stars. read more
