Hi, I was not going to leave a review, because I believe…read moreeverybody deserves second chances, even thought they ruined my hair. I hate complaining about a service but it was not fair what they did to my hair. However, after talking to the owner HOLLY about one of her hairstylist did to my hair. Holly's attitude, unprofessional and horrible customer service, left me with no words. Even thought I was really polite since I started talking to her. Unfortunately, my hair was severely damaged during the process to the point where parts of it were burnt, I came in for a specific color (balayage) but the results were nothing like what I asked for. Not only was the color completely off, but my highlights were so poorly done that they've started to tear and break my hair while I brush it. This has caused me a lot of stress. While I appreciate that the salon gave me back half of what I paid, because I had to beg for it, not fair what they've done to my hair. I believe this level of damage should never happen in the first place at a professional salon, emotional damage isn't something money can fix anyways. I'm sharing this review not out of malice, but so others can make an informed decision especially if you're considering chemical treatments. I hope the salon takes steps to ensure better safety and training in the future. FIRST PICTURE IS THE BEFORE, second picture THE AFTER. No difference at all, only the damage, and orange color.

I wish I knew the stylist's name but she was the only African-American woman there. At first, I'll be honest. I was skeptical, never having had my hair cut by a black person in my life (and I'm 74 years old), but she was TERRIFIC!!! When I go back, and if she is still working there, I would wait just to have her cut my hair. Thank you so much. Lou S.

My worst experience ever in getting a haircut! The only reason why this Great Clips is getting a 1…read morestar was because the manager that reached out to me was empathetic and she was nice. I was in need of a haircut and was short on time before I had a meeting. I lived around the area so I decided to go to Great Clips. This wasn't the first time I've been here. The first time I was here, my hair was cut by the said manager and it was a great experience. I was hoping she would be there when I I go in but she wasn't. I walked in and wasn't greeted. I observed a female employee (Roseanne) looking like she didn't wanna be there approach me and ask me my name. After waiting for about 5-10 minutes, she called my name and asked me how I want my hair. I told her to fade the sides and trim the top. Throughout the whole time I just felt uncomfortable because of the negative vibe she was radiating. I wanted to leave as soon as possible. After finishing my haircut, I went to pay and I didn't tip her because a tip in definition was given to someone as a reward for their services. Realizing that I didn't, she THREW the receipt at me. I was shocked because what employee has the capacity to do such thing to a customer?! I walked out and vented on my social media (I have over 1.2 million followers) and received a reply from Great Clips via Twitter about the incident and was told to e-mail someone. Not only was I assaulted (legal definition) by an employee, her co-worker (Mary) made a public post on Facebook of how I'm a piece of sh*t and I deserve to be beat! Apparently, this Great Clips supports violence by hiring these two. A couple of days later, the manager of the Antioch location contacted me and asked me to come to resolve this incident. Before I talked to the manager, I got a haircut and Mary cut my hair. She seemed friendly and pretended she didn't know who I am because she knew her job was hanging on a thread. She did a decent job and I did tip her. I went to the back to discuss the incident and was given the information that this wasn't Roseanne's first incident! I was dumbfounded by this. She offered me a free haircut but I declined. This was the last time I stepped into that Great Clips. *Note that this experience happened in July 2014 (my pre-Yelp days). It was such a bad experience I still remember it to this day and am an advocate against going to Great Clips ever because of 2 of the worst experiences I've ever had in customer service was with them. 2 strikes and I'm out! Second time was when the employee mistakenly heard me and buzz cut all of my hair the day before my 21st birthday!

My sister scheduled my appointment months in advance, she lives in TN. Cristi used to frequent this salon, back when she lived in IL. I live in WI and honestly just thought my sister would end up doing my hair. She made appointments for us and requested the best person, to do my hair, for my special day. I rarely do anything with my hair. I didn't even have a picture to show, or anything special to suggest. I just told Maddie do whatever you think will look good. I really wanted to utilize my long hair somehow and put up the sides. I brought special rhinestone barrettes that she placed in the back of my hair. The salon was so wonderful they gifted me the best keychain with a ring attached to it, it's beautiful and will hold my car keys. I also loved how the music playing in the background. It was all wedding songs while I was getting my hair done. It brought such a smile to my face and was so thoughtful. My first dance at my wedding was even played, At Last by Etta James. That was pure coincidence since they didn't know that. We also had fake eyelashes put on too and that was absolutely something I will do again. Thank you Octagon for alleviating any anxiety and stress I had on my Wedding Day. Thank you for blessing my day, by making my sister and I, look like movie stars!!!!!!
