Has a memory like you wouldn't believe regarding locations of moving from and to .. assembling difficult entertainment centers etc.! He was able to get his brother to help and acquire another large truck so that we were able to stay on schedule. The entire move was incredible. The movers wrapped everything incredibly well including many large paintings etc. they didn't damage the house we left or the house we moved to or even 1 piece of our furniture! It was very hard to believe actually with the volume and size/weight of many of the items. I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid…read more We had a small portion of items remaining at our house, sent pictures ahead of time, and they sent out a three person crew. The items were mainly consolidated into main areas, anticipating that it would make it easier for the moving crew to quickly pack and move the items to the trailer. They were here for over 9 hours, packed the truck half full vertically, but filled the 28 foot horizontally. This is something I would expect from college kids who have zero experience as you get charged every foot horizontally you take up in cross country moves. So now, not only are we out $2300 for these movers, we are out an extra 3k because they used twice the amount of space that was actually needed if they had done it correctly. Military and families and federal employees- go anywhere else. This was an absolute disaster.

In the past, I have done a few corporate (business) moves and have a high level of expectation from professional movers. Joe Brown exceeded every expectation I had. Moving is usually very stressful for me as I am a perfectionist, but Joe and his men made the entire process incredibly smooth and worry-free. They were extremely professional, and worked quickly without cutting corners. Joe (the owner) was on the property the entire time (as he promised) and he worked alongside his men. What impressed me most was how carefully they handled everything, especially my numerous, VERY heavy and ornate pieces of Victorian furniture. Every piece of furniture and every box was treated like it was their own. They wrapped and protected items properly, loaded everything securely, and they did not damage a single thing during the move. Additionally, the entire team was friendly, extremely respectful, and clearly very experienced. They communicated well with me and with each other as a team, stayed organized, and kept everything moving efficiently from start to finish. They truly care about doing the job correctly and making their customers happy. They moved me into my elderly mother's occupied house (not an easy task) and were also very respectful of her furnishings and her wishes. Joe has a very pleasant and calming demeanor and is very responsive to email and texts during the process. He provided me with a written estimate and a written "will not exceed amount" well ahead of the move and stuck to his estimate. His business style is rather informal compared to the big, interstate van lines, which frankly worried me a little, but there was nothing to be concerned about at all. Everything went exactly as planned. If you are looking for a moving company that is reliable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to excellent service, Brown's Moving Service is the one to use. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

I was a little nervous about moving because this would be my first time using movers. I also needed movers who would move both mine and my fiancés apartment furniture. I was in contact with Mia throughout the entire process and she answered all my questions. It was a 3 man crew who arrived 15 min. earlier than the scheduled arrival window. They were super quick and efficient with moving all my boxes, disassembling my furniture, and wrapping my larger furniture with blankets. They then went to my fiancés apartment and was able to load everything from his place as well and get to our new apartment with all of our stuff. I did lose my step ladder and broom during the move but after calling the next day they were able to find and bring it that day. I was super appreciative of this. Aside from damaging…read moreseveral pieces of furniture and claiming it was like that before the move (it wasn't; I keep my furniture in excellent condition), the packing experience was terrible. They took original, painted artwork and put it in a box with other framed pictures and metal pictures without protective wrapping. Despite telling them that I had items in two storage units as well as a single-family home, they failed to adequately staff my move, resulting in time wasted at the storage facility for another truck to show up and insufficient personnel to unload the trucks at my new location. The whole move lasted well into the night because they hadn't adequately resourced my move. Regarding the damage to my furniture, I was told I would be reimbursed a certain amount, and I agreed. It was a fair offer. Then I got another written offer that was significantly below what was originally offered to me. The amount that was supposed to be reimbursed to me? Never received. As I unpack more boxes, I'm finding more damage and shoddy packing. I can no longer recommend this company.

First, allow me to express my gratitude to this amazing company and their professional staff. The team consisted of four movers who, upon arrival, walked through the premises to fully understand the scope of the job before getting started. They listened carefully and worked with precision and determination to ensure our move went smoothly. Every member of the team treated us with respect and inspired confidence in their work. They didn't allow me to lift a single thing -- not even a trash bag I had put together. I am so impressed that I can't wait to tell my friends, and I'm sure my husband will be recommending them to his coworkers as well. The movers even offered helpful advice on furniture placement, which made perfect sense after careful consideration. We have purchased our forever home, but if you are looking for a reliable, affordable, and professional moving crew, I highly recommend giving EZ Moving and Storage a call. Mr. Petro reviewed my inventory list, calculated the distance from point A to point B, and provided a more-than-fair quote with no added charges. The price he quoted was exactly what we paid. None of our items were damaged. In fact, they assembled our beds better than the company we purchased them from! I apologize for the length of this review, but that reflects just how pleased we are with this company. Job well done, and thank you for helping make our house feel like home. DO NOT USE! FURNITURE DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. Photos attached…read more Baku gave me a great quote to move a few heavy items (dressers, antique furniture, and boxes of books) on 19 May from an apartment in DC to Alexandria, VA. The two dressers arrived HEAVILY damaged. The larger dresser ($1,000) has a three-inch long scuff mark along its rear edge, and the smaller lingerie chest (new, purchased for $660, intentionally distressed to match my antique furniture) is damaged beyond repair on both the front left and front right corners. When moving an antique trunk upstairs, I asked the movers NOT to use the leather handle, as I didn't want it to break. They ignored me. The movers also forgot to take the marble top of an antique side table out of the moving truck before leaving (I called after noticing it was missing, and they returned). Additionally, the leaves on my handmade antique dining room table are now missing. I reached out to the company and they responded with, "Your claim has been approved and we will issue you a $50 refund for each dresser." Highly disappointed and angry -- this level of damage cannot be fixed, $100 doesn't replace the dressers, and the missing furniture pieces cannot be re-created. Would NEVER recommend this company. Pay more money and hire reputable movers who protect your belongings.
