I should probably be writing a "separate" review for each of our Tech's......JP Casas, Will, and Steve. This team took a very complicated situation (the hardline wiring terminal, was hiding BEHIND, the custom installed built-in wine cooler........are you kidding me?) We first wanted to have all of the system "hardwired", meaning we had to get to the control panel. Once we found out that so much was built in front of it in the wine cooler, we then just said, "we will just do a wireless system". But then they played with the hidden control panel, moving things very gingerly so that they could gain access.........Steve was amazing and very very patient handing this end of the project........he had about 1 1/2 inches to work with removing the panel front and then attending to all the little wires....Will was our go-to-guy to get another control keyboard for our master bedroom, and just generally making sure everything was being taken care of. Then JP Casas, our Senior Security Specialist, he made this entire system work, on a home that was hardwired over 23 years ago! It being a Ministrelli home it is built well, and JP made sure everything worked, alarm, keypads, put in codes, answered all questions. This team under JP was outstanding. To be honest, we were skeptical about a "national" company like ADT, but knowing that their work is administered and completed my Smart Tech Security Solutions, we are so very happy with our service and the professional service the two received. What could have been a "whinefest", which frankly I have become accustomed to from so many services, was one of positive professional men, real men, taking care of business, all with a pleasant demeanor and no attitude. To have just done the "wireless" would have probably been so much less work. If you are having a decision as to who to hire for your security needs here in the Coachella Valley, I would give the highest 10 Star recommendation to Smart Tech Security Solutions! We recently purchased a home in Rancho Mirage with a previously installed elaborate security and video system. We contacted the vendor that installed the system to inspect the system and provide instructions on how to operate the video surveillance equipment. They agreed to do so -- for a fee -- even after we pointed out that his company was currently providing the monitoring services. Reluctantly, they agreed to send a technician over, IF, we signed a new 3-year monitoring agreement. We agreed, and the technician arrived, but he didn't know how the video system worked. Even though this vendor [well-known in the area] installed e cameras, the technician admitted that he was not current on video security. We called the vendor's owner who told us "that's the best he would do for us." We decided to investigate other home security options. We learned of Smart Tech Protect and contacted the owner. He personally came over within an hour of our inquiry, inspected the entire system - including the video cameras. We learned that our home had an extensive system, and that with a few minor adjustments to accommodate our active cats, we could count on being well protected. We were SOLD!! We agreed to transfer our protection service to Smart Tech, and cancelled the prior owner's monitoring agreement. Smart Tech sent a technician over to make the service transfer, thoroughly test all of the system components, and patiently instructed us on the use of our camera system. Our only cost was the annual monitoring agreement. One call and our security needs were met - quickly, competently and hassle-free. After going thru a separation, I felt like I needed a security system for personal reasons. I met with 2 other Companies. After meeting with them they really gave me the feeling that they were over pricing equipment price due to me explaining my reasons for acquiring the security system, in which they knew I needed it. I decided to come to Yelp and look to see if there was a company that was local with great reviews. I found Smart Tech and saw their great reviews, I figured I would call them next weekend (5 days away) on Wednesday I received a flyer on my door with a Card from ADT (They had just installed my neighbors alarm) The name on the Card was Jesus (Manager) he had protected my neighbors home and must have dropped a few flyers on the surrounding homes, I noticed he was from Smart Tech aswell in-which I thought was a great coincidence. I called him and asked a few questions and set up an appointment with him to give me an estimate the next day. When he came to my home I explained my situation and he made sure to apply a discount due to it. (Way less than the other quotes and for more and better equipment) I just was installed and can't believe how the universe made sure I went with them and now I feel much secure. The technician did a very clean job and was very knowledgeable. The office girl (Selina) was great and answered a lot of questions for me and gave me great tips, she also helped me get in touch with Jesus for me to have him come to my home after hours (8:30pm) when I forgot how to change my password, he showed up right away in which I was amazed (I made him cupcakes as a Thank you) I give them 5 very deserving Stars. read more

I have been a Smart tech customer since 2010 and have been very happy with their service and ongoing support. I wish I had known about them before our home was burglarized at that time but when I called them after the incident , they immediately came out and installed a security system with genuine compassion for our situation. I really like the fact that they are a local owned and operated business and live in the community they serve. We recently moved into a new home and they actually came over to our house within 30 minutes of calling them. Jesus was very helpful with explaing all of our options and the new technology. When our installer was ready to come over, he called me first 30 minutes ahead of time as I had requested and even held off for a bit longer at my request so that my wife could get the house ready as we were still in the middle of unpacking . I was on my way back home from a business trip. We were having a family birthday that day and Willy, our install technician was extremely accomodating amidst everything going on around him and was able to do the entire house whithout imposing on us or the birtday party. Willy was very knoweldable, professional and had a great attitude. He answered all my questions and was freindly and polite. We invited him to have some bbq and birthday cake with us and he even joined in with the happy birthday song. My husband and I finally got a house in Palm Springs and about a week after moving in we got a knock on our door. We normally don't answer solicitors at our house, but I'm really glad we did. Frank from Smart Tech was at the door and was extremely professional and polite. We made sure to have him show us his ID and called Smart Tech to confirm that he was indeed a salesperson of theirs (He showed up in an ADT Transit, but you can never be to sure! Always ask!) The trust only embedded itself more when my husband found out Frank is also a Marine vet and that gave them PLENTY to talk about. He gave us the run through all of the vulnerable areas of our home and made sure we understood every feature of the system. We also learned a lot of valuable home protection tips about longer screws to secure doors, cut garage door strings, and a few other random little things we never would have thought of. Installation was quick, easy, and painless. We got an appointment to install the system the next day. If you can, do yourself a favor and opt for the security cameras! You will not regret being able to keep tabs on your home when you're out and about. I've noticed that the crime rate has been increasing in the area where I live so I've decided that I want to put up as many deterrents as possible. This is what led me on my quest for an alarm system. I called around and got a few quotes.....because that's the type of person that I am. I finally decided to use smart tech. I can't say they were the cheapest alarm company. If I wanted cheap I would have gone with a do-it-yourself system. But I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and this seemed like a very happy medium. I didn't mind that they weren't the cheapest anyway because I really liked the fact that these guys are local and the girl who answered the phone was super friendly and helpful. When I spoke to the sales consultant He answered all my questions and seemed more knowledgeable than the other companies I called. Ultimately this is what sealed the deal. If I'm going to trust someone with my security they better know what they're talking about! The technician that came out was also super friendly and was smiling a lot. I really don't have anything negative to say about my experience. I got what I wanted with friendly service attached. I'll update should I have any issues in the future. What an impressive group. Highly responsive, professional and competent! Answered every phone call quickly and thoroughly. The "sales" call was not too salesy..... just informational. Frank clearly understood my needs and helped design the system to meet them in the most economic way. As we were under construction on a remodel, we kept delaying the installation date. They were very understanding and accommodating. JP was our installer - what a helpful, happy knowledgeable guy. Because of our remodel, a few things needed to be revised on the fly. He handled that without a hiccup. We were also having internet issues on the installation date. As a result, the system could not be activated on the first visit. I mentioned to JP that Spectrum was coming out the next morning to fix my internet issue. Minutes after the Spectrum tech finished his work, I was pulling JP's card our to call him to schedule the follow up visit when he called to see if we were ready for his return trip to activate the system. When I said yes, he let me know he would be by later that day to finish up. That, on my book, is the definition of responsiveness! Could not be more happy with the interaction and follow up on this. Our recent experience with Smart Tech and the installation of an ADT system was nothing but positive. Very responsive to questions and was impressed with Frank Hernandez who came to the house to asses our situation. Three years ago we switched from ADT to a local company who utilized the ADT system. However, the upgrades that were suggested by Smart Tech have proved to be far above what we had. That includes motion detectors that are pet sensitive and allows us to set the entire alarm system when we leave the house. The new keypads are amazing plus the keyfob offered with the system is a great time saver when locking and unlocking the system. We couldn't have had a better and more knowledgeable installer than a young man by the name of Willy Galippo. As with so many of the younger generation, he did all the programming in a flash and was so patient with a couple of "older" people who are a little slower on the uptake. Very neat and clean and left the house and installation in perfect order. We also love the new Ring security doorbell that was offered with the installation. Selina Sullivan and Tom Grove came to my house and discussed several options for my general needs. Also a Major Shout Out and THANK YOU to GEORGE my installation tech. Because my internet service was not working on the day of installation, GEORGE came back the next day to finish the installation. He was very professional and helpful during the whole process. July this year I was robbed while driving back from a business convention. Not only did they steal my belongings, they also made me feel violated and angry. Now I have a very secure system, complete with cameras that I can monitor on my cell phone anywhere I am. I know I never have to worry when I go out of town. If anyone of my FB friends and family think they are safe or currently do not have an alarm system, I highly recommend ADT. Ask for Selina Sullivan or Tom Groves. I had a 4K surveillance system installed by Smart Tech yesterday. Willy G and Kyle B were the Tech's who did the install. There was a lot of work in my attic and at every location a camera was to be installed. We didn't want them sticking out or drawing attention (of course). Aesthetics of our home was never compromised, in fact Willy and Kyle went to great lengths to insure just that. I was especially impressed with Willy's knowledge and experience in Security. They both brought a loyal, considerate and determined attitude to the job. Their professionalism showed in the quality of their work. Because he is local and his tech staff are local I can call them if and when I have questions or there is any problem with my system. Our experience in having our security system installed was top notch, from start to finish - and our situation certainly posed some challenges. We'd just bought a vacation home in Palm Desert and wanted to install a security system. However, we were in Canada and needed to do everything remotely. Jesus was totally accommodating, even offering to show me around the house via FaceTime so I could see how the painters were doing. The price he quoted for the system was fair and beat others that I considered. The installers were great, even when they faced the unexpected challenge of getting a good cell signal for our system. They spent a lot of time working on this problem and ultimately had to come back another day with a bigger antenna. Despite the extra time this all took, they were patient and kept their sense of humour. Special thanks to JP who had to climb into the attic in his search for a good cell signal. I recently purchased a home in La Quinta, PGA West and needed a security system. My realtor suggested Smart Tech and Ron was out there to see me in one day. The home was already set up for security but had to be checked and certified so he set it up for a few days later. Ron's installer/technician came out and had the whole thing up and running in a little more than an hour. He also took the time to explain everything to me and left me with the necessary reference material to operate and maintain the system. Wow - talk about fantastic service. When I inquired - Carlos called me back within 20 minutes I believe - even though it was the middle of the night and I didn't expect a call until early in the morning at best. carlos arrived on time for his walk-through at 8AM the next morning. He worked out a fantastic deal for me covering all of my needs. And then he returned later that day with his associate Bryan. The two of them set up a large system including multiple doors and windows, multiple motion sensors -interior and exterior - as well as cameras, and touch pads. They got me trained for online computer use and also cell phone and remote controls. They did the install and the training in four hours flat.
