I had Steve from Smart Security come out to my home and install cameras for me. He pulled the wire though the attic, which is pretty small, he got the coverage I wanted and even managed to get the DVR system to fit into my on-Q Panel. His work was very clean, picked up after the install and all of the wiring was neatly bundled. Thank you for everything. read more

Fantastic experience working with Steve on the installation of a camera system for my residence. From the first phone conversation - it was clear that Steve is knowledgeable, professional, and very customer focused. Steve explained the different options available (never tried to upsell into something beyond what I needed), made great recommendations for the placement of the equipment and took the time to explain everything to me. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for your home/business security needs - very "stand up" owner; fair pricing and delivers with high quality. His crew was 100% professional as well! read more

It takes forever for someone to answer the phone every time I call. Also they lock you into a 3 year contract which when they originally signed me up said it could be cancelled at anytime. Customer service is the worse! Stay away from this company. read more

Like the reviews state, Steve is a great business man and very professional. I feel he's honest and cares about the price you pay for a system. Overall, I feel he gave me a very fair price. Thank you. read more

Smart Security had the most reasonable and best pricing we could find. More importantly, Steve went above and beyond the call of duty. I was opening a store and hammered with administrative work, Steve worked with my Internet provider to set the things up he needed saving me a tremendous amount of time. Steve was also thorough, followed up days after making sure things were working perfectly. Very good pricing, and even better service. Well be using SMART security for all our store openings. read more

Better than awesome. It was the reviews here that got me to call Steve Richardson and THANKS to all of you, i have a great alarm and surveillance system. Simply FANTASTIC. I dreaded having to make the call but from the moment I spoke to Steve, to shaking his hand as he left the install, I felt at total ease. No hard selling. I have a new friend! If in need, call Steve.. read more

Josh is very honest, professional, and hard working. We love our new security system from Smart Security. I highly recommend using them and supporting local businesses, as they offer various packages with all the bells and whistles. It's so awesome that we can view our cameras from our cell phones. I feel so much safer now that Smart Security has installed our home security system. Thank you Josh!! read more

We had some programming issues with a 15-20 year old system and called Steve because of the Yelp reviews. Spot on. Discovered multiple defective sensors, replaced the motherboard for free, came back for a few fine tunings and all around, great to work with. So impressed I signed up for monitoring because the system is protecting my 90 year old, self sufficient mother. Peace of mind. Honest guy. read more

Best service I've ever had. They are half the price as the competition, and the product is much better. If I can give them 6 stars I would people! read more

What a fantastic company to do business with! Even though I only needed some maintenance on my existing system, Steve Richardson explained what was needed, and quickly took care of it. Recently had Smart Security place surveillance cameras in our dental office. Such a pleasure to work with. Felt very comfortable with Steve and his sidekick. They were both very respectful of our office and anyone they came in contact with. The office was left very clean after the work was completed. They came on time, were extremely accurate on the length of the job, and the cost was exactly what we had discussed. I highly recommend anyone looking for any surveillance system to give Steve a call. You won't be disappointed!! read more

They just finished installing security cameras around my house with a recorder inside, and they did a great job. They were professional, showed up on time, answered my calls and were very hard and efficient workers. They knew what they were doing, and finished the job ahead of the allotted time they had scheduled, and cleaned up afterwards. I wish more contractors were like them. I would hire them again and again. read more

Steve Richardson is fantastic! I called him in the evening regarding repair of a rental property alarm system and an appointment was scheduled for the following day. Steve and Tyler recently installed an exterior video camera system at our home. The wide range of area it captures and the quality of the video is amazing. Steve also setup the apps for our cell phones and IPads for remote viewing . These guys were super helpful and professional. I thought their pricing was very fair for the quality of the equipment and the expertise of the installation. Their recommendation and suggestions for camera placement was invaluable. They were very responsive and I highly recommend them. read more

Seemed to busy to respond promptly to messages. had to call both guys just to try and get appointment. seems like the concept of getting an itemized estimate, setting an apointment, and acting interested in my business is foreign to this company. excuses, lack of estimate appointment time and communication are standard procedure with competitors but not the case here. Seemed like the attitude is you are supposed to hound and chase them for your business. definitely dropped the ball with me I'll choose a competitor and pay more. read more

Steve and Tyler just completed the installation of security cameras on my home and I couldn't be happier!! What a professional and courteous group. Steve came out and we discussed my needs and wants for a system and a couple of days later I had a professional quality system up and running. The camera / picture quality is amazing and the service is even better. They are very prompt and kept me informed on what would occur every step of the way. If you are thinking about having a system for your home, I highly recommend Smart Security Systems. If only every business could do business this way! read more

Called Josh, Steve responded, looked at my keypad, checked the programming, looked at the panel(uab), confirmed all was ok for now, all at NO CHARGE!! These guys are very knowledgeable and awesome to work with, when my contract expires, I am going to smart security, you should too! Recently had high end security camera system installed by Josh and as a result of being very satisfied and appreciative of Josh's going the extra mile and doing quality, thorough work, I took time out of my very busy day to write this review. Josh had a lot going on that day with some very upsetting news during the install, yet he stayed focused on completing my extensive install thoroughly into the night hours. He takes pride in his work and is careful and methodical and high skilled at what he does. He was worth every penny. I would not have been able to come close to installing these camera's. He worked with me on the price and took my lower price range. I will be referring other friends who are getting camera's soon. The other reason I chose Smart Security is the online review and the fact they they are the authorized dealer/installer for HikVision, which is by far the best camera system out there for the money. They are 20 times better than their competition on many fronts. They are heads above the competition in terms of their investment in technology and R&D, camera innovation, features, software which is the most user friendly in the industry. They recently came out with their own version of the h.264 encoding/compression called h.264 Plus. It saves on bandwidth and HD space. I was very surprised and pleased at how well these IP camera's and NVR works. I recommend the 4mp, extreme IR turret camera's such as the one linked below. http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries_159_i5636.html I also have one vari-focus bullet camera for the mailbox across the street. I do recommend an additional IR Illuminator (CMVision) as most of these camera's just don't have the room for all the IR LED's. As soon as you get out past 30 feet, the picture qualify fades from lack of illumination for certain 30m IR camera's. When they say 30m, its actually about 20m of good picture quality. Some YouTube video's confirmed this for me. read more

Smart Security was awesome! We were looking for a company that could remove old system from our commercial business and relocate to another location we were moving too. Steve and Josh did an amazing job and made sure the system was working right. Some of my construction yard lasers were not working properly and they went above and beyond to take care of it. We added additional cameras and other items and they tailored it to fit our needs. Thank you guys, I will recommend Smart Security to everyone. They are full of integrity. Way better than a large company. read more

My wife and I could not be happier from the service we received from Steve at Smart Security. Searching for alarm companies was overwhelming as finding what you get and how much you pay is hard to find outright while researching online. I called Steve and he let me know upfront of any and all costs, which was the best deal I came across for what I got for my money. His knowledge, detail to service, and overall quality of equipment and monitoring has made me an extremely satisfied customers. I wouldn't look any further than Smart Security if you want a home security system. read more

Steve was tremendous! Punctual, knowledgable - not a high pressures sales guy. He installed my system, which had some challenges because of the age and style of the house I had, perfectly. He stayed until the job was done right. I'm uncomfortable with all things technical. He worked with me until I was sure I knew what I was doing. The system works beautifully. Once the work was done they made sure everything was pristine before they left. I could not recommend anyone more highly. (His partner Tyler was fabulous too.) read more

Steve and his team installed video surveillance and a alarm system in our home and it is absolutely fantastic. The install went smoothly, the products work great and the follow up is the best part. If I ever have a question about a camera, a keypad, etc, Steve takes time to answer and help out. I highly recommend Smart Security if you want the best done right the first time. Thank you Steve! read more

Steve has been so awesome! The first time I called late on a Friday it went to voicemail but the next day he called right away in the morning and I asked if he had time to come over that day and he fit us right in to his schedule. It's been really hard finding someone that will come out just to give us an estimate based on my husband & I's schedule since we both work days. Once Steve was at our house he was super informative and passionate about what he does for a living. He even knew a ton about the previous system that the last homeowner had in place. We scheduled for him to come out in the next time slot that he had available at night (Again he was super flexible on working within our work schedule). He installed the system himself and made sure everything worked properly before he left and showed us how to work the system. This was our first home security system so we were a little shy to use it at first. My husband read through the whole manual and started to come up with questions so we asked Steve to come back out and again was super accommodating and come out in person to answer all of our questions and really help us feel secure about using a new system. Steve really knows what he is talking about and loves what he does. We are really happy that we choose to go with Smart Security and get the great customer service that they provide. read more

Josh fixed a bad sensor, sold us the replacement part at cost (despite being out of warranty), and then spent 45 minutes configuring our software and app to make sure everything worked right. These guys are total pros ... totally recommend. read more

Great communication prior to installation and the security system works great. I never felt the dreaded "hard sell" and the price quoted was the price paid. The guys showed up on time and carefully installed the cameras in less than half a day. It is really nice when you can find a locally owned and based business such as this that is trustworthy and prompt. read more

I called several different security companies. Steve called me back right away and was so knowledgable and helpful. We needed something quick and effective. Steve sat down and took the time to find out what our needs were and why we needed the system. We really felt that Steve customized our system to meet our family needs. Steve and Victor spent extra time in setting up our system. When one of the cameras was not capturing what we needed they were willing to come back out again and even switched out the whole camera system. Smart Security was well priced and as I said tailored to our needs. I love to support small business owners that compete like bigger cooperations. Steve thank you so much for all you did for our family. I feel safe and have truly been able to sleep at night!! read more

I been wanting to get a security system for my home for a long time. I ended up calling Steve for prices. After talking to him and answering all my questions I decided to get it done. He took the time to set everything up where all my house is monitored and the quality of the cameras are great. I would recommend Smart Security to anyone looking for a security system. read more

The first thing you look for in a security system distributor is trust, Steve is a guy that you can trust for both price and workmanship. He had the best deal in terms of hardware and monthly maintenance fees. I had a theft problem, Steve worked until 12:30 AM in the morning to get my system installed at the earliest opportunity. That is dedication, he was looking out for my benefit. You won't find that with the competition. Best price, workmanship and dedication, what more can you ask for in a security system distributor. Don't bother checking out the competition, you are just wasting your time, Steve is your one stop security system guy. This is coming from one very satisfied customer. You shall be another very satisfied customer. read more

We had our security system installed by Steve a few months ago and have had tremendous results. We weren't sure where to purchase cameras for our home and I am so glad we found and went with Smart Security. Steve is professional, polite, and downright great at what he does. The whole installation process was very quick, clean, and the cameras are high quality. We had trouble with one camera and right away Steve came over and fixed it for us. Any questions or trouble we had we would give Steve a call and he'd promptly get back to us and help us with whatever was needed.
