First thing to note: Reservations are highly recommended, or expect a wait. Especially for brunch. This cute cafe is in - what looks like - a cozy bungalow -style home that has a large patio courtyard, playground for the littles, and a few bnb container homes. When the beau lived in this area, it was one of his favorite brunch spots that's known for their lemon ricotta pancakes and "THE" grilled cheese sandwich. I opted for the quiche of the day (not the greatest, the quiche could have used a lot more ingredients, like herbs or spice).; and the beau got the grilled cheese AND the quiche of the day. We topped it off with a bottle of champs and a side of a three-juice flight (pineapple, OJ, and a mystery juice I can't remember). Oh, and a turkish coffee!

So this past Saturday, my family and I were in the Pittsboro area and starving. This place has some solid reviews and is just beautiful. When we got there the kitchen was resetting and we had a bit of a wait, but it was so worth it. We had some refreshments and just enjoyed the atmosphere. My son inhaled a piece of strawberry cake. Definitely a great and cozy place for brunch. It reminds me of a breakfast place in Asheville, I use to love. The only think missing was them greeting you with namaste, lol. You do have to bus your own table and get your own water and coffee, so worth it.

The deviled egg sandwich and split English pea soup. As you see it was good.

Excellent brunch. My wife and I found this new little cafe after it showed up on Yelp. Tried the Small B&B cafe for lunch today. I had deviled egg sandwich on sourdough and split English pea soup. They toasted the sourdough just right. Both were 5 stars. My wife had the half order tench toast and her favorite bacon week done. Some people would say burn bacon. But, it was perfect and she ate the entire plate of food. We will definitely go back to try the other items in the menu.

I love this cafe!! My boyfriend and I have visited a couple of times but I think about it A LOT. Their outdoor space (pictured) is very lovely and cozy. I love the idea of their "Brunch around the World" menu, not to mention their commitment to local food and ZERO food waste! They have great values and a commitment to quality food. Lemon ricotta pancakes were delish and the handcrafted drinks are fun and yummy. Dog friendly too! Would be a super cute place to weekend overnight.

Amazing absolutely amazing! This is such a cute spot with truly homemade style cooking. The potatoes are uni as they are boiled, then smashed on the grill until crispy. You get this thick potato that is crispy outside and soft inside. The lemon ricotta pancakes have so much flavor and incredibly fluffy. This place is worth the drive and I will come back!!!

The inside is small but the outside is spacious and quirky. We stopped in for breakfast and had a great experience. I ordered a half order of lemon ricotta pancakes (you get 3) with bacon and smashed potatoes and my husband had a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich with an iced coffee. It was all so tasty. Small B&B Cafe is a must visit if you are in Pittsboro.

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Regardless of your intentions for visiting the Heights House, I am quite confident there will be no disappointments, unless they have a private event. Cheers!

Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.

Weeks in advance, we asked the owner, "How long can we have the reception?" to which she responded we could have it as long as we wanted because it's the "saddest thing in the world" to cut someone's wedding reception short. Well surprise, at 9pm the night of the reception, while dancing outdoors, the owner informed my mother that we had to turn off the music due to an Apex noise ordinance. We later found out from Apex police there is no such ordinance (my dad called). Also, this inn is on a huge piece of land, and the music was not that loud. When we asked to move the dancing inside the inn, the owner told an elaborate story of how a honeymooning couple had been dropped off, checked in, and they immediately went upstairs to their room. Of course this sounded fishy; why would a honeymooning couple be dropped off at an inn in the middle of nowhere while a wedding reception was going on? We found out later there was no such couple, but the owner planned ahead with her story and had even put a "do not disturb" sign on the "couple's" door. We should've been told upfront, when we initially asked, that we could have the reception until 9pm instead of being manipulated by such unethical tactics. We could've planned things better. It still doesn't make sense to us. If the innkeeper wanted to go home for the night, aren't there nicer ways to plan this ahead instead of not being truthful about multiple things? It was embarrassing to skip over many planned songs and suddenly announce that we had to play our last song. Our guests (and we) were shortchanged. They traveled from across the country to be with us, and our time with them was awkwardly cut short. I want to warn future brides to get every detail regarding your wedding planning in writing so things like this don't happen to you; we were too trusting. Also, some food served at dinner was tasteless and unacceptable. Six years later I still remember that dry beef. Future brides, you would be wise to take your business elsewhere!! Sure, the suite we stayed in was comfortable, but how can we recommend a place run in such a manner?
