Check out the photos of previous meatloaf servings to other customers posted on Yelp. It was tasty meatloaf but was a crunbled spoonful which is out of character with the usual normal sized generous serving, but the mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and fried okra, were good tasty comfort food. Rolls were good but for some reason very small tonight. The garden salad was fresh and crisp tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, grated cheddar on top, with Italian dressing. Ivey, our server, informed us the advertised delicious banana pudding was not being served tonight for some reason. Big disappointment to hear about not having the advertised banana pudding but in lieu of that I was offered two complementary chocolate chip cookies. The chicken and dumplings was good but almost no chicken on the plate and lots of dumplings. Also take a look at previous meal photos to see the usual generous serving of chicken and dumplings. Green beans and broccoli salad were good. Hershey bar chocolate cake was good dessert. Southern iced teas were perfectly refreshing. I recommend their Southern Style Country Food which is normally some of best comfort food but tonight was an off night according to Ivey, our server, the small portions on our plates was in contrast to the normally generous portions of the specials for some unknown reason Tonight was an off night for some reason with few cars in parking lot and only two other people in the dining room. What a lovely restaurant - we will be back, soon! Our server Mary Beth provided outstanding service…read more- personal, tuned-in but not hovering. The food was perfection. I had the flounder tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, beautifully seasoned but not hot or overly spicy and included fresh corn, slaw and magic. My husband had a summer vegetable risotto with pan seared salmon and he raved about it. We each had the classic old fashioned with the restaurant's signature bourbon and we shared an exquisite peach and bourbon bread pudding for dessert which was surprisingly light, but a large enough portion for us to take some home in a to-go box. The vibe is beautiful. The owner Hali stopped by to chat with us and the host, John, was a pure delight. Relaxing evening, great ambiance and service and delicious food. Obviously - highly recommend!

If it's a beautiful day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside instead. Still, the inside has a cozy, laid-back feel that works well. Shoutout to Qua, who was both the hostess and our server. She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.

I had no clue what to expect being a first time patron. My spouse had been here several times and was always raving about how good it was. The stars aligned and we finally made it during a meal time. We came in and ordered and paid at the counter, found our seats, and then waited while our food was being prepared. There's something to see on every wall, and you can tell they know what they're doing with all of the trophies on display that they've won throughout the years. The indoor seating isn't too ample, so don't plan a family reunion, but it can hold a few families at dinner time. There's not a bad meat on the menu. If you're a vegetarian, this is not your new favorite spot. We got their brisket, chicken leg, and smoked turkey. The sauces at the table were tasty, and everyone found a favorite. We were thankful for the ample supply of paper towels, because our littles chowed down and needed to be wiped clean. This Redneck BBQ Lab knows what they're doing. On this particular night, they had too many leftover chicken halves towards the end of the evening, and were selling them half off, so we ate our food, and then got chicken to go for a future meal. Stop in and try it sometime.
