We stopped by on a Sunday morning and the place was buzzing--I'm guessing many diners were coming from church. Thankfully we made a reservation because every table seemed to fill up quickly. To kick things off, we each ordered a refreshing Lone Rider wheat beer along with two appetizers. The Shoestring Okra Fries were a fun twist on a Southern classic--crispy, lightly seasoned with chili citrus seasoning, and even better dipped in the tangy lime mayo. We also shared the Artichoke Dip, which arrived bubbling hot, creamy, and perfect for spreading on the toasted bread. For brunch, we went with two very different dishes, and both were excellent. The Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet was fluffy and packed with flavor from the goat cheese and pickled onions, while the buttery biscuit with jam on the side was a nice Southern touch. The Fried Green Tomato & Bacon Benedict was the standout of the meal. Crispy fried green tomatoes, perfectly poached eggs, smoky bacon, and rich hollandaise came together beautifully without feeling overly heavy. We couldn't leave without one more treat. The Strawberry Kiwi Margarita was bright, fruity, and balanced with just enough tequila and a zesty spiced citrus rim to keep it refreshing. To finish, we shared an Affogato, the perfect ending with creamy ice cream and a shot of hot espresso. If you're planning a Sunday brunch in Cary, make a reservation--you'll be glad you did. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

I just wanted to update my review of the Yard House. We went back last night after I received the…read moreemail for their Oktoberfest. You could purchase a Stein and get five dollar refills with a food purchase. Through October 25, however North Carolina according to the bartender and his manager does not participate in this for some liquor lol. Which I find strange because you could purchase what the Yard House cause crawlers which is a 32 ounce can of beer so I don't really understand why they don't do the refills on the stein. So we opted not to get the Stein because that was the whole purpose of having the Steins is to get the refills on the beer. So if you're seeing this review before you go and you're in North Carolina or at least in the Raleigh Durham area yeah that's what we were told. So last night we again got the Miguel's queso dip. It tasted a little different last night. It didn't taste as good as it normally taste so I'm not sure if they had a different Chef in last night or if they changed the recipe or something, but it didn't taste nearly as good as it normally taste. Also, we got the chicken pizza it came out. Let's say a little on the overdone side so we sent it back and asked for it not to be cooked as long and it came back the total opposite. We got the Oktoberfest sampler so that we could try all their Oktoberfest beers to see which one we were gonna go with. I ended up with Paulner Oktoberfest Bier, it was really nice. Had a nice refreshing taste to it and my friend actually just got The Samuel Adams Oktoberfest. As always they were packed because it's football season and they have inside and outside seating it can also get loud because everybody's having a good time and enjoying each other. If you're sitting at the bar, you are gonna meet people , talk to each other and have a good time. We did meet a gentleman and he bought us a couple of drinks and we just had a good time so if you're in the area, give them a try.

We weren't able to make the reservation for 12 because it only goes up to 10 on OpenTable. We ended up having to make the reservation for 6 at one table and 6 at the other table. To tease us, they put the tables right across from each other and put a table of 2 right in between us. To make matters worse is that we were celebrating our wedding so it would've been nice to have us all together. The restaurant gave me and my husband champagne to try to comp this I suppose but would've been better if they could've seated us all together. We started with the crab cakes and arancini. The crab cakes were fine. The otter crust was crunchy and perfect. The arancini was stuffed with cheese, rice, and meat and it was delicious. They were also crunchy on the outside but so soft and good on the inside. I had the tagliatelle. The noodles were prepared perfectly. It was almost as if I was in Italy. Something I noticed in Italy was that the noodles were never cooked too softly. They were still more firm but edible and delicious and that's how they were prepared at this restaurant in Raleigh. The dish was excellent and very tasty. My husband had the medium rare Ribeye with peppercorn sauce over mashed potatoes with sautéed seasonal vegetables. This dish was prepared perfectly. The ribeye was delicious and mashed potatoes had a great consistency about it and seasoned well.

I adore the bar top design. After my date arrived and a few drinks later, we decided to sit outside for dinner at a table. It was a chilly night, so they had heaters facing the tables, and the outside matched the loveliness of the inside. I had the lasagna, which had that delicious classic Italian taste. The meal, cocktails, and wine were all perfect; my only gripe was the customer service. I felt like we were being rushed out, especially when the server interrupted us to ask if we were done.

I almost always order the Rigatoni Rustica, but we've also tried the pizza, breads, vegetables, and Eggplant Rollatini, and everything has consistently been excellent. The portions are generous too, so you definitely feel like you're getting a satisfying meal. Their marinara is especially good. It has a great balance of sweetness and acidity, with a bold tomato flavor when the dish calls for it, but they also know how to mellow it out beautifully in their creamier marinara-based dishes. It's also a great family-friendly restaurant. One of the little things we appreciate is the sizeable fleet of Hot Wheels they keep around for kids to play with while you're there. We've ordered takeout as well, including a larger order, and everything was packed correctly with every item accounted for and no issues. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. Really glad Anna's is an option here in downtown Apex. Whether you're looking for pizza, pasta, classic Italian dishes, or an easy family dinner, I'd absolutely recommend it.
