Montfort Hall, originally owned by William Montfort Boylan and changing hands several times since…read morehas been fully restored into one gorgeous boutique hotel and event space. The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Regardless of your intentions for visiting the Heights House, I am quite confident there will be no disappointments, unless they have a private event. Cheers!

Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.

We got to bottle feed the babies and mingle with them. We also got to tour the Inn and saw a glimpse of the original log cabin. It was a very educational experience and they had goat cheese; gelato and fudge for sale too! The staff was so welcoming and answered a lot of questions. I want to go stay the night at the cozy inn now. Next year, when the new baby goats are born as then I can spend as much time with them as I want :-) I am looking forward to the monthly dinners returning as well.

They have a LOT of beautiful goats, all ages, all colors and personalities, but they also have chickens, llamas and horses. The goats are very friendly and love to have someone pet them. They are born and raised right there on the farm, so they love people. Although the lunch was very good, I loved spending time with the sweet goats. Lunch was lemonchello chicken, a nice salad, rice pilaf and roasted veggies. We had a lemon tart for dessert. The table was set so nicely and we really enjoyed our meal. We had a great tour of the facility and our guide answered all of our questions with her super knowledge and huge amount of patience! A wonderful place to take children...I will bring my grandchildren here for sure. Call ahead before you visit. Thank you Celebrity for a wonderful time!

Definitely a change in scenery from our dry Colorado climate. The rooms are quaint and cozy and have a unique story for each of them as they are dedicated to a family member. Definitely would recommend especially for the same price as a La Quinta, Holiday Inn, etc.

Please beware of this business. We had our wedding reception here over 6 years ago and I am still…read moreupset regarding how I felt we were misled. My new hubby and I also stayed overnight. Weeks in advance, we asked the owner, "How long can we have the reception?" to which she responded we could have it as long as we wanted because it's the "saddest thing in the world" to cut someone's wedding reception short. Well surprise, at 9pm the night of the reception, while dancing outdoors, the owner informed my mother that we had to turn off the music due to an Apex noise ordinance. We later found out from Apex police there is no such ordinance (my dad called). Also, this inn is on a huge piece of land, and the music was not that loud. When we asked to move the dancing inside the inn, the owner told an elaborate story of how a honeymooning couple had been dropped off, checked in, and they immediately went upstairs to their room. Of course this sounded fishy; why would a honeymooning couple be dropped off at an inn in the middle of nowhere while a wedding reception was going on? We found out later there was no such couple, but the owner planned ahead with her story and had even put a "do not disturb" sign on the "couple's" door. We should've been told upfront, when we initially asked, that we could have the reception until 9pm instead of being manipulated by such unethical tactics. We could've planned things better. It still doesn't make sense to us. If the innkeeper wanted to go home for the night, aren't there nicer ways to plan this ahead instead of not being truthful about multiple things? It was embarrassing to skip over many planned songs and suddenly announce that we had to play our last song. Our guests (and we) were shortchanged. They traveled from across the country to be with us, and our time with them was awkwardly cut short. I want to warn future brides to get every detail regarding your wedding planning in writing so things like this don't happen to you; we were too trusting. Also, some food served at dinner was tasteless and unacceptable. Six years later I still remember that dry beef. Future brides, you would be wise to take your business elsewhere!! Sure, the suite we stayed in was comfortable, but how can we recommend a place run in such a manner?
