Connecticut Lobster Roll (half-eaten) and fried mushrooms
    Tiffany T.

Food: pretty good Service: good Ambiance: chill I ordered a Connecticut lobster roll and deep fried mushrooms for dine in. The lobster roll was pretty good. It had pretty good flavor and a decent amount of lobster meat in it. I do think it would taste better with more claw meat though. The fried mushrooms were good too. It tasted good with both the ranch and jalapeño aioli it came with. I would come back and get the meal again in the future.

My sister and I decided to get a quick bite to eat when we were at the mall. I really wanted to get the lobster roll since I have fond memories of it from their other locations but decided against it because of mixed reviews. I decided on the Shrimp basket so we can share. The basket came with tempura battered Shrimp, cajun fries, hot sauce and spicy aioli. The Shrimp were big and succulent, cooked to perfection. Fries were good as well. Service was quick. Had a good experience. Will definitely be back when at the mall.

Don't waste your time getting Lobster Mac anywhere else... 1029 or Smack Shack in Potluck / Rosedale Mall is the best!!! The gooey oooey cheesey creaminess is a major foodgasm. The lumps of lobster are massive and the breadcrumbs and corn give nice texture and crunch. Potluck Food Hall is inside Rosedale and I'm so happy that they have Smack Shack. And they have kept the quality/ same recipe for their lobster Mac. It's beyond incredible. I tell everyone about this! Service was prompt here and they send a text alert when it's ready. The food hall can be a little chaotic, but easier after you've been there. Plus it's adorable inside and has a few fun photo moments. Few spots tend to pocket traffic, but over all good if you can weave around people.

    Lobster roll with GF bun!

THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE BUNS!!! I haven't been able to have a lobster roll with bread in YEARS and was so so happy to find that their Roseville one had options for me! The lobster roll was incredible but expensive My lobster roll with GF bun upgrade and a soda was over $40. Unfortunately I'd probably pay it again since it was delicious! Fun spot and the gentleman working was great!

Here at the mall for a quick bite and bellied up to the bar at the Smack Shack. Quick friendly service and super fast on my food order. They are known for their lobster plates and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Connecticut lobster roll with fries. It came out with lots of delish lobster meat on a nice soft buttery roll. Fries were crisp and hot. Great portion sizes. Def recommend!

Needed something quick for dinner and was at the Rosedale Mall. I've been wanting to try this place. It's attached to the burger place so they share the same menu and wasn't sure if we were able to order but we were. My friend got the chicken burger from the burger side and I got the Connecticut Lobster Roll. The bun was awesome and a New England roll. I was delightfully surprised by the amount lobster in it. It was delicious but a bit greasy - maybe too much butter on the bun. I do like the side of chips too! Good choice. Service is a bit lackluster since it's a "bartender" feel later in the evening but food was great.

We started with the Brussels sprouts, which are flavorful and crispy. For entrees, we tried the short rib (melts in your mouth) and had to get the burger (decadent + delicious). The restaurant itself is really beautiful and it's also very big. I guessed 200 seats plus patio. The space is very elegant, and clearly a lot of attention went into the design. I would describe it as kind of modern steakhouse vibe. Dark wood, faux fur and leather finishes, etc. Elegant. We were seated at a booth by the bar with a big window view of the patio and parking lot. We were immediately slightly offput because the marble ledge separating the booth from the window was dirty - grease and little food crumbs. Not the best first impression. The booth and table were both clean though. Our waitress, Ash, did provide good service but I would say honestly she was a bit too attentive if that makes sense, and she was also too chatty for us. There were several times when she lingered at our table to tell us something we didn't inquire about or to just talk about something. It was a bit annoying honestly. But the service itself was good. We were also visited by a manager during our visit. We each got a mocktail (it was lunch) but they have an impressive drink menu. I got the Red Rose which was really tasty, and my husband got the pineapple drink, which he also said was good. -We ordered the chimichuri shrimp appetizer, which was pretty banging. Four really large shrimp, each on its own piece of bruschetta, doused in chimichuri sauce. Even for me, with a low spice tolerance, it was just the right amount of spice and it was really really good. -We also got a round of oysters. The oysters themselves were fresh - no complaints there. When they were delivered to our table, the person did not tell us which variety was which (pretty standard when serving oysters at any restaurant). Because we eat oysters a lot and one of the varieties was sweet petite, it was fairly easy to tell which was which. But in my opinion, there should have been information given when the oysters were served. The other big issue was the shucking. Some of the oysters hadn't been fully separated from the shell, and we both found ourselves picking bits of shell from our mouths. We actually had a little discussion about the $6 price tag. I felt it was reasonable, my husband felt it was high. But for $6 apiece, the oysters need to be shucked properly and these were not. Ash also made a point to tell us all kinds of information we didn't ask for about their happy hour, which includes $3 oysters. That would be a steal if they learn how to shuck them. -I got the half french dip sandwich, and I was really glad I just ordered the half because what I was served was totally a whole sandwich in my book. The accompanying fries were delicious, crispy, deep golden brown and hot. The au jus served with the sandwich was slightly on the salty side but not terrible. And I do realize it's au jus. In all it was a pretty decent sandwich. -Hubby got the sea bass sandwich, which was also pretty tasty. I'll be honest and say that I think the entree sea bass would have been better. The fish was so good that I don't honestly think you needed the bun. But it was really good and fresh and delicious. We skipped dessert. In all, a pretty solid dining experience and the food was very good. But it was the minor things mentioned that bothered us, so 3 stars with room for improvement upon our return.

That's decent food. We went shopping across the road and I think within 15 minutes got a text our table was ready. So that was a pleasant surprise. The ambience was great. This is a clean classy place. It looked expensive but I was.... I mean my WIFE was all in and Happy Wife, Happy Life so yeah..... we're going for it. Service was well.... it was over the top. The wait staff and others all chipped in to watch the tables. Different people filled our water, brought us more bread, brought out food out when it was ready, picked up our dishes. It was a TEAM effort and it showed. Service was outstanding. My wife ordered the Salmon Sofia. Not sure what that is exactly and I don't care. It's salmon. To me, it's gonna taste bad no matter how great you prepare it but she said she loved it and would definitely get it again. I had the Italian Pasta if I remember correctly. Slightly spicy cajun pasta with sausage, chicken, shrimp, peppers and onions. It was amazing! There was quite a bit of it in the bowl. My wife says, "Wow, that's a lot. You'll have some to take home!" But I'm no quitter. If the food is good, i'm finishing it. And i'm happy to report that i did finish it. It was really good. I did not however get to try the mountain sized carrot cake. I really wanted some of that but I was too full. Oh, the bread. The bread was not warm and it was different than what i thought, but by the time i finished my 7th piece, I really liked it. All in all this was a very nice meal, perfect for a date night.

Positives - good variety on the menu - great wine selection - service - walnut Gorgonzola salad - after dinner drink list - manager took off after dinner drink and dessert due to food problems (see below) Opportunities - hubby ordered the beef tenderloin special. Cooked perfectly, but the tenderloin was a flat piece of meat; interesting cut. - I ordered surf and turf. Very interesting that most of their seasonings are Cajun. I've never been to an Italian restaurant that had only Cajun seasonings on their seafood/fish - my hubby's food was hot, mine was luke warm. I sent mine back. They literally recooked my same plate of food. That's fine; I didn't know you could do that (food safety reasons, etc). Not the best experience for our first time, but we will go back and try again

I lived in the Houston and Garland Texas area all my life where there is a large vietnamese population... and for the past 5 months, I have just been exploring Minnesota and Wisconsin and Illinois for vietnamese food. This evening... I was just craving pho. lets start with the ambiance. Its a pretty hip place once you get inside. I do like the cultural blend of modern and old school, and you see it with the different type people that come in. The staff there was prompt, and unlike my old school favorite in Richardson Texas... the staff to customer ratio was high. So the service was quick and attentive. Now for the pho. I went with the Dac Biet because I never know sometimes if I will get tough precut preprocessed meats... not in this case. I felt that all the ingrediants were fresh...and catered toward the old school viet palette, which I thank you. I understand a lot of pho house have to stay in business and cater to the local palette but this one was spot on. You can just breath in the right mixture of ingrediants. The bowl was reasonably priced, and the portions were similar to what I am used to having in Houston. It was fantastic as I scarfed it down to quick and forgot to take a picture. However, all the pictures that I have seen associated with this location are accurate. Overall, I would come back here. I am interested in trying their Stone pho next time as th emenu advertisement made it look tasty.

Service staff was as expected for a busy day and we kept getting the wrong items sent out but they were nice and apologetic, it was just a busy day and had newer staff. Parking is limited, be sure to pay attention to where you're parking since certain spots are meant for businesses nearby. They have patio seating but I don't know if they actually provide food service outside. Bathrooms are currently out of service so they have two port-o-potties outside. It's a nice space and gets lots of natural sunlight, I do wish they had some tint or blinds though because we were seated next to a window and it was a bit blinding especially with the sun reflecting off the metal cups and laminated menus. I've heard great things about their food but for me it was a miss. We all had pho but the amount of herbs and fresh toppings wasn't sufficient for 6 phos. They were accommodating and gave us additional items we asked for. The calamari was on the greasier end and was bigger than expected. For my palate both the banh mi and pho were lacking in flavor. I put a lot of things into my pho but it just didn't taste like anything to me except for pho powder. The ribeye pho had a generous portion of broth but only like 5 slices of meat. The oxtail stone bowl pho one looked hot and didn't have enough space to add everything in without it overflowing while the other didn't look like the broth was hot enough to cook the noodles. I will say though their ordered drink cups and to-go containers game was top notch. I received a reusable bag with my two banh mis to go instead of a plastic bag. It's probably not somewhere I'd return to unless someone else absolutely had to have it but to each their own.
