I will NEVER recommend this company...following is my story as pieced together after my nightmare with Speedee Movers, also doing business as SM&S Relocation, located at 140 Lewis Rd, Ste. 6, San Jose, CA 95111, finally ended...this is a long story, but if your belongings are precious to you, read what happened to me and DO NOT HIRE Speedee Movers/SM&S Relocation.
Speedee Movers/SM&S in San Jose, CA, picked up my family's personal belongings in December 2015, in Sunnyvale, CA, and took them to their storage facilities in San Jose, where they stayed in storage till mid January. Then, unknown to me, Speedee Movers/SM&S sub-contracted to a third party, F-rated by the BBB, moving company, known as Top Cat or JBJ Movers, owned by Joseph Lopez, out of Denver, CO (look him up on YELP and the BBB), to pick up our personal belongings in CA and deliver them to our new home in Florida. (I specifically asked Speedee Movers/SM&S weeks earlier about the crew that would deliver our belongings and was never informed that my belongings would be sub-contracted for delivery.) On Jan 24, our belongings were loaded into an Enterprise Rental Truck, rented under the name of Joseph Lopez, to be delivered between Jan 29-30. On Jan 30, the driver called to say they were running late and would deliver on Sunday morning, Jan 31...this was the first of many lies! On Sun, no delivery was made and no communication was received from the driver. On Mon, Feb 1, I called the office of Speedee Movers/SM&S and spoke with Lea Volfvosky, who in turn 3-way calls me back with Joseph Lopez, who proceeds to tell me that the truck carrying our belongings broke down and was at a repair shop...these were both lies! On Tues, he told me that the closest available replacement truck was 128 miles from where the original truck broke down as that was the crew was on their way in a rental car to pick it...both those statements were lies! On Wed, I finally get back in contact with the driver and find out that no replacement truck had been gotten on Tues and was told that one would not be picked up till that day, Wed, in the same city as the original truck "allegedly" broke down, not 128 miles away like Joseph Lopez stated. All this time, Lea Volfvosky, who states she is the owner of Speedee Movers/SM&S, could not/would not tell me where my belongings actually were! The real story: On Jan 30, the Enterprise truck carrying our belongings was pulled over by the Conyers, GA, Police Department because it was deemed stolen by Joseph Lopez due to not being returned, and our belongings were impounded in Conyers, GA, for 5 days!!! Then Enterprise retrieved their stolen truck, including our belongings, from impound and took them to an undisclosed Enterprise location. Only due to the driver, who decided to come clean with me and disclose the entire situation, was I able to get put in touch with Enterprise's Fraud and Recovery Department. When I found out this information and confronted Lea Volfvosky of Speedee Movers/SM&S with the facts she offered to have a different moving company pick up our belongings from Enterprise. Guess what? The moving company that contacted me was another one of Joseph Lopez's entities!! I told her that I didn't trust her and would not continue with any services she offered. She conceded to not charge me for the remaining $3,239 balance due, however, to date, has not agreed to refund me for the $3,345 that I paid up front. For six agonizing days my family had no idea where all our belongings were. I had to have multiple phone calls with Enterprise's detectives; email them my 8-page Bill of Lading to try and prove that the items in the stolen truck were mine, and finally our belongings were released to us on Feb 5, for personal pick up...which then required my husband, and other family members, visiting us from NC to help us unpack, to drive from Central Florida to Georgia, rent a moving truck from another company, as Enterprise doesn't rent across state lines, hire people in GA to unload our belongings from the stolen truck to the newly rented truck, self-drive our belongings from GA to FL, and then hire more people to help us unload the truck in FL...all at our own expense.
This was a huge nightmare for me and my family...caused by Lea Volfvosky and Speedee Movers/SM&S Relocation. read more
