Stopped in for a couple drinks before the Seahawks preseason game. It's basically a long tunnel, divey MLB baseball themed bar. Drinks can take a while on game nights, but it's packed and a great atmosphere. Food did not look that great, basically run of the mill deep fried pub fare. This place was crazy busy on a Saturday! All staff, with 1 exception, were super nice. I left my wallet on our table and came back the following morning hoping they had it. One whole wall dedicated to every game, memorabilia from the last 100 years, and big mugs at reasonable prices. I just went here tonight and had an awful experience. We ordered 3 entrees and 2 white claws and 1 beer and our bill was $89. We were confused as our entrees were approximately $15 each. We paid the bill with a 20% tip and then asked for an itemized receipt. The waitress brought us over an itemized receipt that was hand written and accused us of calling them a shady establishment when we'd already paid. We just wanted an itemized receipt for our records. This is a favorite stop of ours before seeing a game and I would give it a higher rating if the blonde bartender wasn't rude to me. My boyfriend and I came here before a Mariners game (like usual) and granted it was super packed and busy. We ordered beers and food. He got the Chicken Wings, I had the Mac and Cheese bites. They were amazing! So tasty! However, the waitress COMPLETELY ignored me and only paid attention to my boyfriend. I cannot STAND that sh*t! I am a Seattle Sounders Season ticket holder and have been going to Sluggers for my pregame Big Boi Grilled Cheese Sandwich and two to three rounds of beer before each hone match the last two seasons. I am leaving this post a 1 star for this review due to the one waitress my best friend had to endure before tonight's match against the NY RedBulls. We decided to eat upstairs this time because we never have in the past. We sat down and after 15 minutes or so I asked the bus boy if we were able to order food upstairs since this was the first time we've chosen to eat upstairs. He asked us where we were sitting then mentioned to the waitress that we would like to order food. She walks over and hurriedly places two napkins in front of each of us and says "what do you want?" in a mildly rude tone. I says "hi- how are you today?" Waitress: "I'm tired" (rude tone) - "err how are you? -What do want!?" (rude tone) Me: "Big BoI Grill Cheese" Waitress: turns to my friend-"What do you want?" Friend: "French Dip" Waitress: "Fries or tots?" Friend: "Tots" Me: " Big Boi comes with fries only right?" Waitress: looks at me "Fries or Tots?" (Rude tone) Me: "Fries" We both were in utter shock for I have never ever been talked to in that manner ever at any pub, bar, dive, restaurant, eatery or cafe etc.. ever. She checked on us one time, "You guys are fine right? and you are both are on the same check right?" (Sarcastic tone as if we've asked her for a ton of service or something) I get the check that came to $32 pull out a $100 to pay for it and she says Waitress: "ugh.. I don't have change for a $100 bill, don't you have a card to use?" Me: "no if I wanted to use my card I'd pull it out and use it, this place is jammed packed with people how can you NOT have change or take a $100 bill? " Waitress: grabs my money, rings up bill and comes back with a smile and nice tone of voice and says "whew - I nearly got chewed out for a $100 bill, have a nice day ok?" At that point I'm like WT??? Needless to say she's lucky I left her the $1.00 tip she did NOT deserve. I get that people gave bad days, maybe she has a migraine or worked a long day, but we did not deserve to treated like dirt nor talked to like my business wasn't important enough to be addressed in a 1/2 decent manner. This is the first time I've ever eaten upstairs and will definitely be the last time I eat upstairs at Sluggers. This review is not ine to dog out on the place cause they have the best pub food around, the service is quick and prices are great. This is a review to let Sluggers Management know their waitress who was serving tonight needs to be addressed for her rude and obnoxious behavior and paying customers do not need to be subjected to this behavior. Did not get her name but her busboy was the tall white kid with the curly Afro who had to suffer and lose out on what would have been at least a 20% tip had the server been 1/2 way decent when taking and serving our simple order w/ relatively low attention needed by us. We came in here before the game based on the name alone, and we're immediately impressed. When you walk in it looks dark and divey, but the narrow hallway opens up into a long, high ceilinged room that feels really open and light. Behind the bar you'll find the autographs of players who have visited and various bobbleheads, which make it clear this is a baseball-lover's bar. Televisions are hooked to the walls on two levels (something I've never seen and LOVED), so that regardless of if you are on the first or second level you can catch a game. We came back after the game as well, and it got rowdy in there! It was a great time. I wish Denver had a sports bar like this, dedicated to one sport and full of people that love it. It really set the tone for the game for us, and is an absolute must if you are catching a Mariners game. read more

I love this place! i always insist on coming here before Seahawks games! It gets extremely packed, I always feel like the upper floor is going to fall through (the alcohol seems to take the edge off that anxiety) and it gets blazing hot when crowded. But I have a great time each and every visit! Its tradition to get a shot of ice cold on tap jager and a 24oz of beer (coors light) or two..three. The last time I was there was for a 2010 preseason Seahawks game, the bartenders are so awesome! It was packed as expected, but not nearly as packed as regular games. This one bartender had complete control over the floor, she got people tables, making drinks, and taking the next order all at once. She got us seated and everyone was happy, she went above and beyond what some bartenders would want to deal with. I can't wait to go back! Next game!!!! I think I ate some fries here a few years back to absorb some of the suds before a Mariners game, so I can't really comment on the food... Very potent and delicious. I didn't have time to sample the food but what I saw coming out of the kitchen looked really good. A very special thank you to the bartender (I never caught your name) that found my credit card that I mistakenly left on the counter as I walked out after paying. After the mariner game we wanted somewhere to drink. As soon as we walked in it was veryyyy loud and very muggy so muggy. Who cares I am here to drink and this place is popping. The bartender mades our drinks with a heavy hand ( his words). One drink ( not mine) was apparently undrinkable. I Would have drank it but he said he spit into it. Not sure why.. my drink was really good and was only one I had all night and I left buzzed so you won't hear me complain. FOOD REVIEW ONLY - I know, why am I reviewing a bar if I didn't drink, but some of you might go there and eat so I'm speaking to you lol. After a wtf experience at the airport (my boyfriend left his wallet on the flight and that took about 1-2 hours to get back, and then my friends husband couldn't find the car for a couple of hours) we went down 1st street looking for some food around 9pm. We didn't venture very far, but there wasn't a whole lot going on for a Friday night and the kitchens were closed at most spots. Sluggers was open and so was their kitchen - so that was good. Just to touch on drinks so you stop being judge-e - there was a full bar, enough of a beer selection, and the folks that ventured in after a sporting event gave the impression that this sports bar gets lots of post-sports rowdy business. Good for them. It's a bar. Food options are 100% bar food, though they had some unique options. We had the corn dog bites, cordon bleu bites, and mac and cheese bites. Yes, all tan to dark tan foods, all fried, but not greasy and overall decent. All bites. The corn dog bites were good corn dog bites. I had them with some mustard and was happy. The chicken cordon bleu was fried lava, so careful when you bite in. Those were fine as well, paired with the honey mustard sauce. The mac and cheese bites were meh. The mac and cheese needed a kick of salt in the pants. And we were served it with tartar sauce (?????). Not a winning combination, as you'd imagine. The spot itself is almost like a bar with seats and a narrow lane behind that with benches against the wall for seating. I would imagine it gets super packed because of the layout, but fun if you're out celebrating with other Seattle fans. read more

I came here to have lunch while waiting for the train. They were open when most places were closed on Saturday morning. The service was great. I had the patties melt which I haven't had in years. It was delicious and it's plenty of onions and cheese. I'm hesitant to ever order tater tots because most places give a soggy, grease laden mush. These were the best tater tots I've had. Crisp, crunchy, not greasy. The salad was good greens, not standard boring iceberg lettuce. The music was perfect and a many TVs to watch sports on. Definitely recommend. read more
