I loved this hole in the wall!!! Such a cute spot and very roomy so you can certainly do remote work here. They have a great menu and many vegan healthy options which I loved. The service is fast and friendly too! I ordered the hummus plate and the cauliflower pita chips where absolutely delicious! I was so impressed I'm literally still craving them. My coffee was made with love too it was yummy and I appreciated their diverse milk options and replacements. At first it was a bit hard to find this location giving the parking lot looks sketchy too but it's down a hall and you'll see it. I overall just can't get over this place I really loved it and would say this is my top 5 for fav coffee shops and a new go to place for me to work remotely :) your doing a great job slowpokes! read more

One of my favorite coffee shops. Laid back ambiance, great coffee, I'll even order their avocado toast since it's high quality. Baristas are passionate and knowledgeable, will talk your ear off about different roasting and preparation techniques. Helps that their prices have been kept reasonable. Thnx to Afif, Mazin & family. Slowpokes - flat white in the am - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

LITERALLY THE BEST. I come here way too freakin much. I very quickly became a VIP customer -- or at least FELT like one -- as evidenced by the speed with which the counter LEARNED MY NAME. Let's rave for a moment. I love the fresh-roasted coffee. The beans are acidic, but in a good way -- not overdone/oversteeped. Roasted fresh about twice a week and aged. One last thing on the beans: They're top-tier. I'd even pick them over Katz's fresh coffee from their HQ. Quiet and tucked away between a business hotspot near Jersey Village and a nice neighborhood, Slowpokes hides from large crowds. I'm pretty sure they rely on their crazy amount of satisfactory Yelp content to bring in so many loyal customers. This is the best place I've ever found to study. And I'm a student in Austin. This beats every single cafe experience I've had in Texas. Get the Ube coffee, the new hibiscus lemonade, or the espresso for maximum returns. Pro tip: ask for the counter's HONEST opinion. That's how I learned to love this counter, they knew the menu and were totally honest and even humorous. 10/10, a must-try if you drive through the area on a commute. read more

Great coffee and great place to study and work buuut the food needs a major overhaul! I went last weekend to have a coffee and breakfast. Since I don't eat eggs and am vegetarian, the only savory breakfast item I can eat is the spinach and cheese kolache. We arrived at 9 and were told that the kolache vendor hadn't arrived with no estimation of when he would. Apparently, "he arrives when arrives." We waited 2 hours and the vendor never showed. I specifically chose to patron Slowpokes this day specifically for the Kolache. Horrible to not have expectations and requirements for your vendors. This was a major let down. I left disappointed and hungry. P.S. the quality of the new kolache vendor is also subpar to the previous kolache you had available. read more

First time trying slow pokes. When I walked in I was greeted right away by staff. They were very nice and helpful with navigating the menu. I got a hot latte and the salmon bagel. The salmon bagel was recommended to me and it was awesome. The cream cheese to bagel ratio was perfect. I really enjoyed my latte, I know next time I really want to try the honey and lavender latte. There is plenty of seating and it was super clean. I will definitely be back! read more

Cute place by Hilshire Village and Long Point with ample parking, generous outdoor and indoor seating, friendly and fast service, good music, nice vibes. Coffee adequate for caffeine fix and the croissant sammies ok- it lacked flavor and the texture was crunchy on the outside and not flaky, more like toast on the inside. Recommended for outdoor hanging out and plenty of plants! read more

Our son surprised us with a special breakfast treat that Uber Eats delivered for our 53rd wedding anniversary. Mind you, he lives in Paris, France! He selected Slowpokes based on reviews. OMG, so delicious! Tea for him and a lavender/honey latte for me was hot and amazingly good. The salmon bagel, breakfast flatbread and churros type donuts were full of flavor, hot and just tasted incredible. The sauce with the churros tasted like apple butter with honey and cinnamon. We just wanted to let you know how happy this treat was for us and your food presentation was clearly a testament to how much you care about your customers. Thanks to our son for finding you. read more

A hidden gem, literally, it is tucked away in the back of a strip mall. The chicken pesto panini and churro donuts did not disappoint. We had a purple rain latte (vanilla and ube) so good if you do not like sweet coffee, and the slowpoke latte, so good if you do like very sweet coffee! Servers were friendly! Can't wait to come back!! read more

I enjoyed my visit to this location. I've been to another Slowpokes, but it was my first time here. Went around lunchtime and while it wasn't packed when we arrived, the line to order ended up extending immediately after we ordered. Perfect timing I'd say. I ordered the B. S. T. Sandwich with no bacon and it was so good. Unless I was really hungry? Well two things can be true at once so yeah. The wine was wine, I'd return and order another glass of the Sauvignon Blanc. The process to order was quick and easy. We didn't have to interact much with anyone so the service was fine. All in all, I'd return to Slowpokes. They have outdoor seating on the patio and I can see this being a nice place to stop by and get some work done. Chill vibes. read more

(3.5 stars) I enjoy coming here to do work or read with my friends. While the back parking lot has very few spots, if you park in the parking lot near Long Point (the lot that shares space with Feges), there's ample parking. There are a lot of tables with very comfy cushions which allow you to study for a long period of time. It's not noisy at all (no background music if I recall). Lighting is alright, definitely not dark like some of the cozier coffee shops but I did struggle to read my book a bit. Not sure about the outlets- I didn't see many but I also wasn't looking very much. As for their menu, they do have some specialty lattes that I've tried - the flavors were pretty unremarkable in my opinion. Their drinks are definitely pricey compared to other shops and also for their size- definitely not worth it alone but you're also paying for that study spot! I'd come here to hang out with friends or get work done. Wi-fi is free but they do ask for your receipt #. Also, staff is very nice!! read more

Slowpokes - Affogato ($7.50 before tax) - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

I ordered breakfast delivery from here and everything was not good. I had bagel dog, ham & cheese kolache and a beef empanada. The only thing I enjoyed was the spicy fruit dip and the cilantro dip. The food flavor was great but it lacked for me. If you think yourself bougie and above and like wasting money then by all means go for it. I can think of several better, less expensive places with amazing food, quality, presentation and flavor. read more

It's not in the front of the shopping strip, it's hidden inside and it's a mystery to find. So if you don't go here, be ready to hunt for it! Inside is a good vibe. Plenty of seating. Not the brightest place but it's fine. I told the barista that I want a sweet drink. She recommended the caramel cold brew and it was NASTY! Tasted straight like medicine! I had a couple of sips and I was done. There goes my $7! It's a shame that this place was garbage. I've heard great things about this place but obviously those were lies. read more

Very interesting experience I had a few months back. Ordered a few things off the menu, and when I looked at the screen to pay, I see an item I did not order. I was confused so I asked the woman at the register why she had put an item in my order I didn't ask for. She responds "Well we were out of what you wanted." Since when don't employees relay simple information regarding your order? It's disrespectful and inconsiderate, and I count that as a racist experience. I haven't returned and never will again. read more

The name may be Slowpoke but the service is anything but that! Okay so my GPS took me on quite the tour of the neighborhood trying to find this place. It's tucked back behind the strip mall. The parking lot is small but there's plenty of free street parking around. This place is A WHOLE VIBE and I was ALL ABOUT IT! First every single person I interacted with was so nice. From the guy who took my order, the woman who made my drink, and the guy who delivered the food to my table- all of them wonderful people! The line went from literally the counter all the way to the door but they kept the line moving quickly and the turn around time from placing the order to getting the order was impressive! There was PLENTY of seating between the bar seats and multiple tables both inside and outside. The breakfast biscuit is PERFECTION and it comes with spicy jam on the side!!! You need a fork and knife to eat it. I got The Slowpoke Latte- iced because it far too hot for hot drinks right now. It was so smooth. The cold foam was truly just the cherry on top. Also the bathrooms are adorable with all the art work plus LOADS of shelving so if you have your backpack or something you don't have to put it on the floor. This is probably my new favorite spot. read more

I've lived in the Spring Branch area for practically my whole life, but have never heard of this neighborhood coffee shop until my good friend from church told me about it! This place has a great mix of dine-in, bar, outdoor and mixed seating! Definitely has a chill vibe with board games to play, a TV to watch some games, good internet to do your studying/school work, and great staff to help make the experience more memorable! I've only had two drinks there, it was the Lavendar (or Ube) Latte and Iced Vanilla Latte, and I am very impressed by both of them! They are certainly delicious and would definitely get those items again! read more

On a Sunday afternoon, my daughter and I stopped in for lunch. It was our first time hanging out in the area. The gentleman at the register was pleasant and the staff seemed nice. We enjoyed the patio, my daughter is two so she had enough space to walk around. I ordered her a breakfast taco and I ordered a pizza...turned the brie and prosciutto sandwich into a pizza! It was delicious and will visit again! There was ample amount of parking and not packed which was a plus with a small child. read more

TL;DR Pricey coffee, but a great environment for hanging out with friends. Also, have selection of local brews. Location - the shop is located behind the shopping center. You will need to go around. We were blaming the Apple Map for doing its thing again, but then realize the shop is behind the shopping center. Because where it is located, it feels like a local neighborhood coffee shop where you take a stroll on a lazy afternoon. No cars are involved. Food/Drinks - love the breakfast Taco that I ordered. The taco came out fresh and HOT! Worth a try! It was enough to fill me with the taco and my macchiato. Also, there is Happy Hour!!! Only from Monday to Friday . read more

I just live this location the food and ambiance is amazing !!! Exelente servicio y una comida deliciosa el mejor cafe de la zona !!!

One thing that will quickly make me dislike a place and never return no matter how good it is... is the SERVICE! First off what's with the ignoring people? You work in customer service how hard is it for you to not treat your customers like they don't exist? The people who work here act as if you shouldn't be here. How dare I come into a business and actually want to spend my money!? I will NEVER come back here today after the way I was treated. I waited at least a half an hour for a latte! Apparently it was made but no one could be bothered to tell me that. So instead they let me stand around while the place was empty and ignored me until I had to ask. When I did ask where my order was the server gave me a response as if it was my fault that I didn't hear my order called out. I like slow pokes but this spring branch location isn't worth it. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop PERIOD! They have a wide array of selections and my favorite is there seasonal strawberry white chocolate latte, vanilla latte, and snickerdoodle. They also have amazing food and can't go wrong with any of them. The vibes of the coffee shop are also cozy and it's located in a nice park so if you need a study break you can go on a stroll. Great food, drinks, and atmosphere. The baristas were super sweet and friendly too. Went to grab some coffee with a friend to catch up with each other and ended up getting mimosas instead of coffee when we realized they also served wine and other alcoholic beverages as well. Loved how cozy it was inside, just definitely busy with lots of people working on laptops (so perfect if you want a peaceful spot to work or study at). First time I've ever had a salmon bagel and it was soooo good with all the cucumbers and capers and cream cheese Yuuuuummm. Also went back and got a raspberry berry cream cheese danish and I'm so glad I did bc it was so delicious. Hopefully we can get a slowpokes in Webster area to have one closer! read more

Slowpokes is a little hit or miss for me but I lean more towards being a fan. I honestly can't recall every drink I've tried, but I've had several lattes from here and the stand out for me is the black and white latte. I recently tried the ube latte, but it did not have any noticeable sweetness and the flavor was very subtle. I'd definitely recommend the black and white, as it's been excellent every time but it is on the sweeter side. There's parking in the back of the building, albeit limited. I love the vibe here though and their branding is pretty cute. In terms of food, I haven't worked my way through the menu but I'm not a fan of Sinful Bakery's stuff, so I'd avoid that. However, they have a lot on the menu in terms of specialty lattes, so I'll keep coming back to try more. read more

I didn't know slowpokes was near my apartment and always thought it was closer to town. This location is super hidden (right behind KURE wings) and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood too. I like when you walk in, the interior has those college vibes where you can meet friends for a study sesh or take someone here for a cute date. Their outdoor seatings are available and they also have a canopy on top in case it rains too. Their menu isn't extensive, but man the items are ordered were so dang good! The meat and cheese board is shareable up to 2-3 people and I love their variety of cheese and meats available too (depending on the time of the year they alternate items as well) Let it Brie flatbread - this is HIGHLY recommended ordering. I'm a Brie lover and man this was such an enjoyable item! The pear wasn't overpowering to the flatbread so it was spot on Purple rain latte - a blend of coffee & ube with a perfect balance. I liked how they put the ube on bottom so that when you drink it, the ube is what you taste and then the nice coffee blend on top. Smart move on their part because that's how I like drinking any coffee with ube in it~ Can't wait to be back for more! read more

Was able to stop in to Slowpokes on my last day of a recent cinco de mayo trip to Houston to visit a friend. Wanted to try some local coffee and boy was I sent the right direction!! Slowpokes coffee was exactly what our group needed to power through the day. Nice menu of your standard coffee drinks and flavors, plenty of food options, and definitely a very hip, lo-fi vibe to the place. Some very cool, colorful decor and a great backdrop for studying, reading, or just getting your coffee fix. Even brought a bag of beans back to San Diego. Definitely recommend. read more

Pretty much boycotting this place due to its new internet rules that are not posted anywhere in the shop. There is a 2 hour limit on internet use. Not only is this ridiculous considering we are in Houston and not New York. They do not make u aware when you show up and when you do make additional purchases the timer starts after you bought your additional items to keep internet. I knew I had a conference call that would last longer than my Internet was lasting so before my meeting I purchased an additional item to be proactive. Only to lose service and not be able to reconnect because I had to enter the details within 45 min. Why the hell am I spending 15 dollars just to work at this coffee shop located in this developing part of town when I have tons of other options where this is not a problem. Never coming here again to work or study. read more

By all means, Slowpokes is a unique cafe with delicious coffee. The iced oat milk latte was one of the best ones that I've had in Houston. However, it ended up being a terrible working spot for me. The music was loud and distracting. I saw multiple flies flying in the air. The place also got super loud around lunchtime. It was so bad that I had to go to a different cafe. Again, the coffee was great, and I've read good things about their sandwiches. I just don't think this is a good spot if you plan to study and be productive. read more
