My favorite sandwich. Melt in your mouth chicken with all the perfect toppings

This is my favorite chicken restaurant. The cayenne ranch chicken sandwich is a show stopper! Plus the fries are pretty great too

I'm very confused about the low stars on this place and I'm choosing to assume it's because of when they were new. If the food and service today has been this way, there should be a line to eat here. 1st visit, opted to go inside vs drive thru to have time to view the menu and surprised to see such a variety of options. The gentleman working the counter was also bringing food out to the patrons and keeping the dining area clean. As he hustled, he was so friendly. Off his suggestion, I ordered the Chicken Club on Toast vs the Bun (do this), Fries and Mac n Cheese. Side of Cayenne Ranch plus a drink. The space is comfortable and inviting to eat in, several table options depending on your group size. Beverage station is self serve and I went with 1/2 Cut Tea, sweetness on point. My food was brought to me and at 1st bite of the Mac n Cheese, I already knew I'd be getting a 2nd one to go home! Chicken seasoned and cooked well, the toast was great and the bacon was crispy! Dip your fries in the Cayenne Ranch, it's actually not spicy but it just taste good! I live no where near here, maybe a 25 min drive, but I will come back on purpose!

Really great catering!! We had the food catered for a company lunch, and everyone was really happy with it. All the lunches were packed and included sauces. The only note was every container contained a different (2) sauces but none of the packaging was labeled to know what was inside. It would be awesome if the boxes could have the sauce stickers on them to know what's inside given some are spicy, etc. This was my first time trying, and I definitely want to try on my own!

Late evening I wanted some food. I hadn't been to Stim Chicken in quite some time. They are open inside until 10 pm and the drive thru till 12am. It wasn't busy when I got there. But a rush soon came. The young lady took my order with a smile. I decided to try the tender combo. The chicken could have been seasoned better. The fries were good. The dipping sauce made up for the lack of seasoning. There were tvs to watch. I got a chance to see some of the game. The well kept restaurant is a nice place for yelpers to eat. The place is very inviting and comfy.

    25 Tenders

We have the Slim's app and had been texted a deal. The deal was: 25 tenders for $25 if you order on the app. Since we are cheap AF, we ordered just this to feed everyone on our way out of town. The online order said it would be 10 minutes so I ordered in the parking lot and we headed in to get our order. The "10 minutes" turned into nearly 30!!! After waiting for a bit I went up there to check on our order and the guy at the counter was like, "Oh, you're the online order." And still continued to wait some more. We finally got our order, it was hot, so that's good. Most, if not all of the tenders were teeny tiny. 25 for $25 means $1 per tender and in our opinion, most were not worth this price. The MORE shocking aspect was that the normal price is $39.99 for 25. So normally they are $1.60 per tender. I don't know if maybe when they have these "deals" they give you the tiny tenders to cut down on their "profit loss." We were expecting with 25 tenders, we wouldn't be able to finish them. Not only did we gobble them down, we broke into our road trip snacks to feel full. Other than the lengthy wait and the tiny tenders, the sauces were not accurate either. Instead of 4 of my favorite cayenne ranch, we were only given regular ranch. (Sigh) I was looking forward to the spice. So all in all... the whole experience was something less than desired.

    Fried Mushrooms
    Madison N.

I've tried the food three times now and it just isn't good for the price, and the portion sizes are super small. This is the side of mushrooms, which is almost 7 dollars. This was the entire order...I haven't touched any of it. It feels really crazy and unacceptable to be charging that price for this quantity.

Grabbed lunch with the family at Slim Chicken. Chicken and fries were well seasoned and they have a big variety of sauces. Staff were busy but efficiently took orders and called out orders as they came up. The lobby was clean and the drink station had everything stocked.

    Buffalo 8 Wing Meal

We ordered chicken tenders and Buffalo wings. The chicken tenders were delicious, seasoned and tender. I am not a chicken tenders person as I prefer bone in but will order again. The milkshakes were also very delicious. The Buffalo wings were okay but I will be back for chicken tenders. Nice, spacey and clean venue. The service was very friendly as well. Definitely worth a stop.

The only real warmth we encountered came from the female host; the rest of the staff delivered service that hovered somewhere between disinterested and "we're doing you a favor by being here." We kicked things off with the fried deviled eggs, which arrived neither fried nor particularly deviled -- just cold little reminders that hope is fleeting. Cocktails landed squarely in "General Public" territory. My Squatty Potty showed up lukewarm, like it had been loitering at the bar contemplating its life choices instead of making it to the table piping hot. A chicken Caesar salad was perfectly fine... if you enjoy playing hide-and-seek with the chicken. The breakfast burger came on an English muffin with what might be the most emotionally unavailable portion of hash brown casserole I've ever seen -- tiny, distant, and gone too soon. Then there's the Scream Burger. Marketed as ghost-pepper spicy, priced like it's the main event, and delivered with all the heat of a polite Midwestern handshake. Dry, bland, and somehow bold enough to charge me an extra dollar for more mayo -- because nothing says "premium burger experience" like a condiment upcharge to make it edible. My husband's Pork Pountine? Imagine fries sprinkled with a few bacon bits like confetti at a party nobody wanted to attend. We came in excited because Eat Crow in Soulard sets the bar high. Unfortunately, Crows Nest feels like it's cooking for someone driving in from Chesterfield who asked the kitchen to "tone it down." If you're craving the real deal, do yourself a favor: go to Soulard. This nest still needs a lot more feathers. And to the influencers calling this place "amazing" -- do better. It is a Trojan horse for one of the best burgers in St. Louis (my wife says I'm being dramatic for calling it THE best; I say I am not NOT going back for another). We enjoyed everything we order: the pork belly burnt ends and cashew chicken wings, and a coffee & cardamom old fashioned that sounds like a personality disorder but tastes like a vibe, smoky, a touch sweet, and very drinkable year-round. The Sam Elliott burger, BBQ sauce, bacon, crunchy onions, brioche, is named for a man who has never disappointed anyone, and neither does the sandwich. And the meatloaf is NOT your grandma's brick: tender, charred at the edges, laid over silky mashed potatoes with broccolini, perhaps closer to a chop steak than a loaf in the best possible way. Vibe is farm-chic: old church pews, repurposed interior doors, a proper bar up front, plus a patio and rooftop for when the weather cooperates. Fun fact -- it's named after the blue duck Billy Madison paints in elementary school, which is a fantastic piece of trivia and tells you absolutely nothing accurate about the actual restaurant. 4.7 Stars. Picking Nits: the counter-order setup is efficient, but it sets expectations in the wrong direction for the first 90 seconds, you brace for fast-casual and instead get something considerably more ambitious. Food comes out fast once you've ordered, which is great if you're hungry and slightly jarring if you wanted a slow, lingering dinner. And the Billy Madison naming is charming trivia but entirely misleading as a vibe preview, no complaints about the actual restaurant, just the branding expectations it sets. If The Blue Duck were a character: Ron Swanson. Hear me out. If Ron ate here, he'd be suspicious of the entire experience until his first bite of protein -- the counter ordering, the repurposed doors, a burger named after a fellow mustachioed American, all of it registering as potentially too clever. Then the Sam Elliott hits his plate, he takes one bite, and the skepticism dissolves into the quiet respect of a man who has found his people. Looks rustic. Has strong feelings about meat. Secretly sophisticated -- plays saxophone in a jazz club under a fake name, builds his own furniture, would 100% approve of the farm-chic decor once the protein has spoken. Presents as simple. Isn't.

Dishes may change day of based on what is available. I recommend all of it, but if you've never had a tasting menu this is the spot to do it. It's 6 courses with the option of adding wine pairings and it changes so frequently you don't need to worry about it getting "old". Dillon and Kevin will introduce you to flavors and textures you never expected and it will always exceed your expectations. I've attached some photos of the last standard tasting experience I did (about two weeks ago) but I will admit I'm here about once a month to do the tasting simply because it gives me a chance to try so many items off the menu. That said, I do personally believe the menu is VERY reasonably priced for the standard menu as well. It's a wonderful spot for dinner too, not just the tasting menu. I always have extra portions and I try something new nearly every time I'm there. Pro tip: ALWAYS order the empanadas as an app. Tasting menu or not, you must start with these. Pro tip 2: always make reservations. Pro tip 3: always get dessert. (Pot de creme is a staple in my life). Please note, it's a small restaurant, I'm seeing some reviews speaking to the pace of the establishment. I strongly encourage folks to be present and don't rush through this meal. OH! And always order dessert. It's small, it's local, and when they are busy, keep in mind many parties may be having a 6 course meal. Join in the fun and show this cozy neighborhood hotspot some love. I don't personally consider this a slow dining experience, but I don't rush through meals either. Just some food for thought.
