I have always been a fan of the super juicy and thick burger, until I tried the Gooey Louie burger at Mac's Local Eats. It turned me into a fan of the smash burger. The fries are always crispy and super fresh. Possibly best fries in St. Louis as well. The service is amazing. All the staff members are super friendly. Entry into the Restaurant and the order counter is straight ahead with a bar and bar seating to the right. Open, large dining area. If there is a line to the counter you have a great little area full of local goodies. Cute little books like Goodnight, St. Louis, foods like Louise's Granola, drinks like Southside Alchemy Bloody Mary, and so much more. Service behind the counter was superb! He was friendly and helpful, patient with our group. We were given a number after we all got our order in, and we found a table. We chatted while we waited for our food. Food runners/servers were also outstanding! Dropping food off, inquiring if we needed anything and assisting with questions. I had never had the onion rings before, and we had ordered the regular and the ripped. I liked the flavor of the regular, they were on the bigger side and I usually like skinny ones but these were delicious and crunchy. The ripped ones had a kick, if you like that. I got the pimento burger with cole slaw. I had also never had the cole slaw and it was really good! Crisp and tangy, more creamy than vinegary. I get the pimento burger that comes with 2 patties, pimento cheese, and fried green tomatoes with every intention of cutting it in half to save for the next day, it was so good with the gooey pimento cheese and the smash burgers with the crispy edges I could not stop eating! I also got a side of the sweet potato tots and the "Oreo Speedwagon" milkshake. My burger was cooked perfectly and loaded up with toppings, and their special sauce is light and mustardy. The sweet potato tots were warm and crispy, and the milkshake washed everything down perfectly. I'd absolutely recommend this spot to visitors and locals alike.
