Orange Blossom Coffee: Polished Pop-Up with Signature Flavor…read more I discovered Orange Blossom Coffee at the Edwardsville Fall Makers Market and was thoroughly impressed. Despite being a mobile, events-only coffee shop (they've only been around since the summer of 2025!), their setup was incredibly polished and trendy. They clearly put a lot of thought into their presentation, making the mobile espresso bar feel just as professional as any brick-and-mortar shop. I ordered the Man in Black latte, one of their signature drinks--a combination of blackberry and vanilla. The description promised "timeless and classy," and it delivered. The espresso was smooth and pleasant, thankfully lacking the sour notes I often find at other local shops. The blackberry flavor was wonderfully forward but was beautifully rounded out by the creamy vanilla notes. It was an absolute delight to sip on this hot latte while enjoying the crisp fall air. The service was charming. While the speed was about what I expected with a line, the two women working the tent were incredibly welcoming and engaging. They happily shared parts of their business story as I gushed about their cute and professional setup, answering all my questions with a smile. Their genuine enthusiasm added a lovely personal touch to the experience. Their pricing is quite reasonable for a high-quality, specialty drink. Lattes are a standard price point at about $6 for, I believe, a 12-ounce size. If you're looking for value, their Americanos are only $3, and their lemonades are a steal at $2. Chai lattes clock in at $4. I highly recommend seeking them out at an event and giving them a try! I'm already wondering if their pop-up espresso bar would be a great fit for my organization's next event, or even a wedding or shower brunch. If you have them at your event, definitely send me a message--I'm eager to try the Salted Maple Latte off their fall seasonal menu! One of the best Filipino restaurants that I've been to...why did it have to be so far away…read more My wife and I were in St. Louis to visit old friends, and we needed to find a place for lunch on this Saturday. We had a choice of two Pinoy restaurants in the St Louis Top One Hundred, so chose this one in the Gravois Park neighborhood. Parking is all street but wasn't too hard to find a spot and it was unmetered. The inside has been lovingly remodeled with a giant mural depicting a Filipino marketplace, and a set-up that supports a coffee shop atmosphere. It hadn't yet got too busy, so the group was able to find seating while we stood in line to order. It's a casual style, where you order and pay first (they use Square so got the receipt via SMS), and the food is delivered to you as it is made, with self-bussing. They have both a lunch and dinner menu. The Fattened Caf. (abbreviation for cafe NOT cafeteria) is marketed as bbq, so our group focused on the meat dishes, all wanting to make it shareable. Bistek ($22) - my wife's go-to when eating at a Filipino restaurant, this simple dish of beef pieces flavored in a strongly soy sauce based marinade was good, much better than most versions I've had restaurants in LA. The presentation was fine-dining, with enough gravy (sawsawan) to pour over the white rice that accompanied. Lechon Special ($20) - this was an off-menu addition, and was the one dish (presentation and taste) that would fit in to any fine dining restaurant, a must to be eaten on-site. It's a great introduction to show how awesome pork belly can be, if prepared this way. The texture contrasts hit in each bite, and the curry based sauce was different but worked really well with the meat. Housemade smoked Spam ($15) - This pork product is house-made, so not sure if they got permission from Hormel to call it this. In any case, it was delicious and the grilled pineapple slice that came with it was a perfect accompaniment. Spicy Chicken Longganisa ($15) - I had given up finding a good Filipino sausage that I liked until this one..and it's chicken based! It had the right amount of spiciness to counter act the slight sweet, and loved how the natural casing had been crisped to produce the snap that I adore. Plus the meat grind wasn't so fine...really loved this dish. Most of the dishes came with garlic rice and red cabbage atchara, which I liked (they also sell the green papaya version as well). Ube Banana Pudding ($7.50) - this dessert really worked with the mixed flavors of the banana and ube, with the one bite that I took enough for me to finish the meal. My wife also got the San Juanico Mango Bourbon ($11) - a mango bourbon kalamansi lemonade, which she enjoyed. Other drinks were offered in cans, along with a self serve water station. Service was OK throughout, as it was more of a fast casual restaurant. I think the quality of food deserves a more formal sit-down experience, mainly because we had to place multiple orders as we found the food to be so good. This meant getting back up to stand in line which is fine if dining alone, but not so much when with old friends. But the price reflects this fast-casual way, and can definitely appreciate the proprietors doing what they can to keep prices down.

I ordered baked chicken, dressing and greens. I know everyone has preferences to how greens and dressing are prepared. Well, the greens were just the way I like them. They were cooked with turkey. They were flavored and not soggy. The baked chicken was really good as well. The dressing was not the way I prefer. It was more dense than I like. I mixed it with my greens and that got it to the consistency that I prefer. My friend ordered the salmon bowl and although I was happy with my order, I will try that on my next visit!

So Awesome!! - - - -…read more- - - - August, 2026 Visit Yes!! This is our second time here, and our daughter has been here countless times. Today we needed to fuel up before starting out on a road trip and we did just that - fill up with tasty goodness!! It was a mid-afternoon departure; I debated on how much to each; we filled up just enough, and had leftovers for later in the evening; a fantastic dining experience, in-restaurant and in the hotel once we arrived in NW Indiana. Tim was a great help, welcoming us, helping with the order and delivering our food. We enjoyed: - steak wrap with side of veggies - Steak and Asian veggies - a side of brisket - oh so good! - Steak wrap, which was as good 5 hours later as it was in the restaurant The lemongrass pesto sauce is so amazing you can drink it and just enjoy the goodness as it overwhelms you. We also enjoyed the fountain drinks... 80% cherry cola with a 20% mix of the lemonade - quite nice!! Thanks, Lona's Lil Eats!!

Have heard about this place since it opened and had to try it! This location is in a different area…read moreof Kirkwood, away from downtown, but near a bunch of neighborhoods. Great spot to walk to on a nice day! There's also a lot of parking beside and behind the building, so no excuses on having a tough time getting there. There are 2 doors in, 1 for pickup orders and 1 for dine in. The dine in door leads to you a line/maze that ends at the front counter (where you order) this gives you time to look over the paper menus, or the tv menus boards. I went with the paper ones since the boards were hard to see from that distance. (Old eyes I guess!) It was odd that the dine in door maze went past a cooler and soda station for pickup orders. Ordering was easy and the young lady was helpful in explaining what was spicy or not. We got the big Thai wrap and a seasonal noodle bowl. They also give you a number for your table and directed us up a ramp to the dining area. The ramp/floor isn't consistent in its slope, so pay attention when walking up there. The dining area is painted in bright colors, with funky light fixtures and chairs. Very bright and colorful. There was a musty smell in the area that we sat, which reminded us of an old basement. The food came out pretty quickly and looked great! We enjoyed both dishes and agreed that the spicy eggplant was our favorite flavor. The plan for next time is the seasonal noodle bowl with chicken, spicy sesame sauce and chopped spicy eggplant on top. If you have the opportunity, give this a try!

Peacemaker Lobster and Crab was absolutely amazing. We ordered a ridiculous amount of food because…read morethere were so many things on the menu we wanted to try, and somehow, nearly everything we ordered was a hit. We started with Stella on tap, which just felt appropriate while visiting St. Louis, especially after touring the nearby Anheuser-Busch brewery. It was easily one of the freshest Stellas we've ever had. For food, we tried the lobster mac and cheese, lobster bisque with pieces of lobster, a pound of steamed crab legs, fried green tomatoes, and the warm lobster roll. The lobster roll was phenomenal. We shared it, but I honestly could have eaten the entire sandwich myself. The real standout, though, was just how perfectly the seafood was cooked. Both the lobster and crab were juicy, sweet, and tender with just the right amount of chew. Nothing was rubbery or overcooked, but it wasn't soft or mushy either. I genuinely don't think they could have cooked the seafood any better. The fried green tomatoes were also cooked perfectly and something I was excited to try since you don't see them on every menu. Unfortunately, they were a little too spicy for my personal taste, so we didn't finish them, but that's definitely more about my spice tolerance than the quality of the dish. The atmosphere was another plus. It's a really cute setup with great ambiance, and our server was wonderful. We also walked right in without a reservation and had no wait at all, which has honestly been one of our favorite things about eating our way through St. Louis. Coming from California, we're used to having to plan ahead for popular restaurants, sometimes weeks in advance. Here, we've been able to discover some fantastic places without having to plan our entire trip around restaurant reservations. I will say, this was probably the most expensive meal of our trip. The one pound of steamed crab legs was $65 market price, and the lobster roll was $37 market price, so Peacemaker definitely isn't the cheapest place we've eaten. That said, considering the quality of the seafood and how much we enjoyed everything, it was absolutely worth the splurge. From the crab legs to the lobster roll to the bisque and mac and cheese, everything we tried was delicious. Combine that with the atmosphere, great service, and being able to walk right in, and this was easily one of our favorite meals in St. Louis. I'm actually hoping I can convince some of my coworkers from my training class to go back with me before I leave Missouri. I think that probably says everything you need to know about how much I enjoyed it.

The outside is very unassuming, as are most restaurants along Sidney St. in my opinion, but upon walking to the table for our reservation the first thing that caught my eye was the wooden plank ceiling which really fit the expected vibe of a seafood restaurant with more of an upscale feel. After being seated, our server brought us some water in these cool colored mason jars which added to the character of the entire restaurant. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed as she checked in quite a few times throughout our dining experience and answered our questions in full. We started off with some cocktails: the Port Royal as well as the seasonal slushie, the Yodermelon. Both of them were quite delicious, with the Yodermelon tasting exactly like a refreshing watermelon slushie; you could barely tell there was any alcohol in it! The Port Royal was very good as well and fit the seaside vibe with the rum & pineapple mixture. For the food, we got the seasonal salad which was a Tomato Salad with tomatoes (obviously) beneath a bed of arugula, peaches, pickled red onion, feta, croutons, dill, & a pistachio pesto. Although I really enjoyed all of the different flavors, I do wish the salad was mixed a little bit more as most of the pesto dressing was at the bottom which made it difficult to coat the rest of the salad as we ate. I ordered the Snow Crab Legs as my entree which came complete with a bucket & bib. The clarified butter & roasted lemon to drizzle really complimented the crab. There's something really satisfying about having to work for your food after you're already paying for it since, at the end of it all, you feel accomplished! Despite my love of crab legs, I can't help but feel like I should've ordered something else, though. They were delicious of course, but a side wasn't included despite the somewhat steep market price which meant I was left with a pile of crab legs and nothing else to snack on (besides my girlfriend's lobster roll & chips, thankfully). I was still left feeling hungry after making my way through the crab, so even a recommendation of ordering a side may have swayed me into having a more satiating meal. In short, it felt like I ordered one of the things on the menu that didn't have much character at a restaurant filled to the brim with it. I guess I was just hoping for a differentiator in the preparation or presentation that made this meal feel more unique, which I didn't really get. In summation, I was very pleased with Peacemaker Lobster & Crab and will definitely be finding my way back in the future, likely for a coveted Lobster Roll, but I will be passing on the crab legs next time.

My wife had the shrimp and crab cakes with the tomato mozzarella salad and I had the fish and chips. The crab cakes lacked any color to them, appeared more microwaved cooked than cooked/finished on a flat top. The salad was obviously store bought pre-sliced mozzarella, haphazardly sliced tomatoes, and one leaf of basil per tomato. The fish and chips, one of the most basic dishes you can find on the menu was the star disappointment. It was advertised as beer batter fish with fries and crispy onion straws. The plate was dominated by onion straws that were floppy and batter falling off all over the place. The onion straws were hiding the fries of which there was maybe 10 and all of them over cooked. The fish lacked flavor and the center of each piece was mushy. Credit to the bar tender for knowing how to make a highball and doing their best, but overall a very disappointing experience. Overall for a first visit there it was not enough to excuse as a possible bad day and to try again, I would recommend staying away and going to a better seafood restaurant in the area.

Pappy's has a large staff that were constantly clearing tables and delivering food. The manager (?) even stopped by the dining area and checked in with how our meals were. He also told me about the fried corn on the cob cooking process. Very interesting. I had a half slab of the ribs and chose the fried corn on the cob and baked beans as my sides. I filled by drink and found a seat and my meal was served shortly afterwards. The tables have 4 sauces to choose from if needed. Honestly, I loved the flavor of the ribs just the way they were served to me although I did try the sauces as I love to try these things when in a new place. The ribs had a glaze of sauce already on them and man were they good! The ribs were perfectly prepared with the iconic smoke ring around the edges. They were meaty and fatty just like they should be. These rate in the top 5 ribs I've ever had. I enjoyed the fried corn on the cob as it was super unique and finished with a sugar and salt coating but not too much. The BBQ beans were also good with pieces of pork mixed in. I highly recommend trying Pappy's when in the St Louis area. They really do a wonderful all around job.
