Beef Carpaccio - Excellent, Rich, Delicious Heirloom Tomato Caprese - Fresh, Indulgent, Crisp Cacio E Pepe - Seasoned Well, Slightly Aldente - Sumptuous Intimate yet bright. Feels like mom's kitchen if it was in Amalfi. Completely Charming.

This place is quaint! It's a tiny little space on Park Ave that serves up some delicious pasta and offers fresh pasta and cheese for sale. The concept is fast casual - walk up to the counter to place your order and they bring it to your table. The dining room is small, but we were lucky to get a table. The pastas are fresh & simple, with high quality ingredients. I resisted the urge to buy some fresh pasta to take home, so I'll have to go back soon!

A lovely little place that has fabulous Italian food. Had the homemade spaghetti w San Marzano tomatoes and the bread, oh the bread was so damn good w pesto and olive oil dipping sauce.

I've been on a best of St Louis pasta kick lately, so I'm super excited to try Vicini. Atmosphere is absolutely lovely, kinda quaint, a few tables and a lovely selection of drinks and complementary wine pairings. The woodsman's pasta was delicious, however , the flavors seemed muted to me. Granted, I do prefer spicier cuisine in general, but I've developed a recent appreciation for Italian flavors. I didn't get a big impression of spices or classic Italian flavors (parsley, basil, etc). Most of the flavor of the pasta was the various meats and mushrooms. They were advertising a happy hour on selected days each month. Super friendly at the counter. I sat outside in the park nearby and enjoyed my fresh pasta and house made focaccia. I'll try a different pasta next time.

This pasta tastes like being in Rome! Tiny place without a ton of seating, tables are first come first serve and they do have a few large tables people seem to share. They have a menu that changes often available at the counter. They also sell lots of grocery items as well as some vintage goods. If they are packed you can always get it "to go" and eat at the park nearby (Lafayette Square!). They also offer classes, I will definitely be attending one!

In-restaurant experience was incredible. Felt super cozy and authentic inside, like you're having a meal inside someone's home. Space is limited, communal seating mostly throughout. Best way to describe the food was that it was exactly just right. Not doing too much, not doing too little. Everything tasted fresh, very light, and cooked with intention. Favorite dishes: Bread service is a must (Be sure to add the truffle honey butter), Pasta al pesto w/ asparagus, Prosciutto, Wedding Cookies

5 on food 100%, service as well. My only beef is they don't serve the lunch menu after 3 - they close at 6. We got off a 11 hour road trip and stopped. Owner is sweet, food is delicious- focaccia sublime... If you are in the area, you are missing something really, really special by not stopping in!!!

I went there with four of my besties for our birthdaysliterally we all said this might be the BEST pasta we ever ate. I had the pepe, I tried my friends tortellini in the brodo.. best communal service ever, cutest shop with food-exotic & fresh to go and angel items for sale.. Italian wedding cookies omg!! Delicious with amazing personal chef/family experience.. hidden gem

This little cafe/store with communal seating (first come first serve), cozy ambiance, delicious food and plenty on shopping opportunities was the perfect place for lunch on a Sunday during a Lafayette Square neighborhood event. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the olives and the arancini were really good. The sandwich super filling and tasty. The service was great, even during a very busy day. Totally recommend to check out this place.

If you're on the hunt for a truly special Italian dining experience, this restaurant is it. Tucked away in St Louis, it's not just a place to eat--it's a love letter to authentic Italian food, with cacio e pepe that'll feel like you're in Rome. The vibe here is cozy and charming, like stepping into a rustic italian deli and restaurant combined. Seating is limited, we were lucky to come here when it wasn't too busy. We started off with house-made schiacciata bread service. It came with homemade pesto and olive oil from Italy for dipping. Now, about that cacio e pepe. It's absolute perfection. Just a handful of ingredients--pecorino Romano, black pepper, and pasta water--come together in a way that's downright magical. The pasta is cooked just right, the sauce is creamy without being heavy, and the flavors? Bold, balanced, and completely unforgettable. Every bite makes you close your eyes and wonder how something so simple can taste this good. They put a little touch of themselves in the dish by topping it off with breadcrumbs and a slice of freshly baked focaccia. The people here really make the experience, too. Warm, welcoming, and totally passionate about making sure you're having the best time. They'll even help you pick the perfect wine to go with your meal--whether it's a crisp white or a rich red, they've got you covered. We chose to pit our meal with a lovely Vermentino. Whether you're a hardcore Italian food fan or just looking for something extraordinary, this place is in a league of its own. Trust me--you'll leave planning your next visit.

I moved to Lafayette Square a few months ago, and I am mad at myself for waiting so long to try this place. First of all, the space is extremely charming. Most importantly, though, the bread service and pasta is unbeatable. The bread service comes with the most delicious pesto. The pasta is made in house, and the sauces are just right - not too rich and also not lacking in flavor in the slightest. As a cheese lover, I love to add burrata to mine. You can also buy pasta and sauces to prepare at home, which is amazing. I can attest that it makes for *almost* as good of a dish at home. The only downside is the odd hours. They are open for lunch, and I feel like the pastas would make for such a great dinner option. Still, I will be coming back here again and again for lunch.

This is THE hidden gem of Lafayette Square. I only knew about it from walking around my neighborhood and saying to myself "oh, what is that?" and then proceeding to drag my neighbors and friends to check it out. The restaurant is open lunch hours Fri-Sun. It doubles as a shop, which has longer hours. Every week they have different specials (which you can check on Instagram) or you can have one of their staples, which are always available and always delicious. If I had an extra $50 to blow I would bring a friend and eat here every weekend, but alas, it is a bit pricey at about ~$20 per entree but that is to be expected when it is all cooked from scratch.

What a gem in the Lafayette Square neighborhood! This tiny shop & restaurant packs a punch with lots of unique and special gift items, handcrafted pastas and sauces and local Salumi and imported cheeses. I scored a beautiful terra cotta wine chiller from Italy for my Aunt and Uncle that live in Augusta and they were so pleased to receive this at Christmas. I also scored some "gluten conscious" pasta which my sister with celiac really enjoyed. The owners mother has celiac and she assures me she is able to enjoy this pasta. My sister and her daughter didn't have any issues either. What a blessing! It was a little pricey at $24.99 per pound, but it was a nice splurge and well worth it. The chef/owner and her family were very welcoming and provided a lot of information about the shop and their food while I was there. I will update this review once I have tried the restaurant section which is just a couple of small tables. Nice and intimate! I can see why this has quickly become neighborhood favorite. Sidenote, the chef will do a private pasta making session in your home if you like!

The menu follows right along with their creative, seasonal, and whimsical creations. I was here was a very last minute planned birthday gathering after a series of unfortunate events leading up to my birthday kept planning from happening sooner. There were only 6 of us, but they still made sure the dinner was spectacular and special for my birthday. The food was phenomenal and I need a whole series to go over the plethora of wines, beers, mocktails, cocktails, and more they offer! Having a mocktails list for my bestie was just an added bonus on top of everything else! I can't wait to come back again and try more deliciousness! Open the door, follow the hallway labeled "The Bellwether" to the elevator, select floor 3, enjoy the experience!

The parking lot had spaces available. We walked in and there was an event space on the right and a large sofa and chairs against the back wall. Signs indicated where to go for Bellwether so we went around the windows showing the climbing wall to the elevator. Upstairs we were greeted promptly and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We opted for inside and she led us down one level to the second floor. I think the building is really cool, and the restaurant is well appointed, exposed brick, cool lantern hanging lamps, bookshelves filled with books and odds and ends, Waitress was friendly, there were only a couple of tables on the floor, but she wasn't intrusive and let us take out time. It filled up more by the time we left. The menu had several things I wanted to order but ended up deciding on the breakfast fried rice. We also ordered the cinnamon roll for the table. Coffee was hot and kept refilled, but it was just ok. The cinnamon roll was tasty. The fried rice was great and the fried egg on top was well cooked and tasty. One of our party ordered a side of sausage, it was four links and they were good, another ordered the pork belly sandwich and that was one of my other choices, I tried it and was impressed! I thought it would be too sweet, but it was perfect. Viewing the pictures of dinner, can't wait to go back for that and sitting outside!
