I'm slightly obsessed with this place and I always wonder why it isn't busier. I eat here at least two days a week. I'm a low carber and I find Slim's to be very accommodating. I can order the tenders ala carte, the sandwich without the bun or the Slim's salad. They are super cool about letting me add bacon to it; which I do regularly. I've found the tenders and sandwiches to be my absolute favorite items (the wings were just OK). The dressings on the side are homemade and that alone makes me a fan favorite. I have mixed feelings. This location just opened up so I am keeping in mind they don't have their kinks worked out yet. However, the lady taking orders was extremely unfriendly, abrupt and rude. Kind of a turn off for your first experience. We didn't wait too long for our food, maybe 10-15 minutes, however when it came to us it was cold. The chicken patty to the chicken sandwich was extremely small and didn't even provide enough meat to the bun. The wings had barely any meat and we ended up throwing most of those away. The chicken tenders were just okay, partly because they were cold. I wouldn't mind trying this place out again once they have everything worked out and hopefully some kinder employees at the front end of their business. read more

My kids really like their chicken! The kids meal are substantial My kids are 9 and 10. They love the fact that they offer fresh fries and tons of dipping sauces not to mention nice piece of toast. My husband enjoys their Cayenne chicken sandwich and I love their Belgium chicken and waffles. They are always consistent and professional. Yes they are not the fastest but I don't mind that. They do offer deals of coupons from time to time and get extra perks with their app. This place is most definitely better than Canes in our opinion! read more

I want to start off by saying I would never leave a review, but after enduring this horrific pain, I have to. I ate at Slims Chicken on Friday April 1st. This was no April fools. I got food poisoning and was unable to even keep water down. Finally on Monday I went to the hospital and after several test and bags of IV fluid, they confirmed food poisoning. I hope that Slims pays attention to how they handle the food and making sure the poultry is cooked properly. I will never eat there again and just wanted to give others a warning. read more

I have been here twice since they opened and I enjoyed the first time much better. Got the same 3 tender platter each time. The first visit the fries had a nice seasoning on them and the second no seasoning at all. The second vist there were about 15 loud, obnoxious high schoolers eating at the same time we were. I know this isn't the restaurants fault but it was so loud in there we almost took our food and ate in the car. Service was friendly and I like that they let you self serve your iced tea and lemomade. They says their sauces are homemade but.my husband wasn't impressed with the mango habenero or the siracha sauces. read more

Our first, only & last time coming here! No one acknowledged us in the drive through so we went inside thinking the microphone was broken! Nobody said hello upon entering! There were 5 kid employees huddled in a corner laughing at customers at a table! We should've left, but it was fairly new to our area so we wanted to give it a chance. When someone finally came to take our order, they were all still laughing while we waited for our food. Unfortunately, it took several minutes & the employees were no where to be seen! We thought this was very odd for a restaurant! We asked the first person we saw behind the counter if they knew how much longer our order would take? They were carrying some type of equipment & just kept going without replying! It seems as if they forgot about our order! The person who took our order eventually brought us our bag of food & didn't even apologize for the delay! We checked our food before leaving, everything appeared to be in the bag. We chose to eat in the car instead of inside of the establishment because it was dimly lit & not clean. Napkins were on the floor & the floor was sticky. We were hopeful that our food would at least be worth the wait, but it was not! The chicken had no flavor at all & it was too greasy, even the sandwich had excess oil! Went there for the first time today for linch. The place was very busy on the inside as well as the drive through. We were there at 1245 on a Thursday so no surprises in that category. Our plan was to eat inside facility and we were lucky to have found a booth open. Only that booth and one more table were available The wife and I ordered the 5 piece chicken tender lunch with fries and slaw as sides. You pay extra for all your sides. The cole slaw was the largest portion I have ever experienced. The fries were fresh and hot. The chicken tenders were large, hot and moist The manager took the time to go to each table and chat with the customers which I thought was a nice touch. Plenty of parking. Would work well with kids. Competitively priced. Personnel seen cleaning up around tables etc constantly and in spite of being very busy the food came out piping hot and quick enough. About 8 minutes after ordering If you are a fan of fast food chicken then check this place out. I am a first time customer and I will definitely be a repeat customer. I like the meal offerings of tenders and wings. The chicken wings and tenders are delicious as well the sides of coleslaw and potato salad. I also love the peach and raspberry teas. The dining area has a nice decor and vibe, the big screen TVs are a added bonus. I haven't tried all of the menu items but will soon. Man where do I start! I'm a regular lol just want to talk about their slim salad. So good! They put onion rings inside which I was like why at first but now it's such a great touch to it! And if your a ranch lover it goes great with this salad. Their ranch is phenomenal. Their chicken is fresh and tastes great! I did get a cayenne chicken sandwich for free for downloading their app which I wasn't too found of. But their salads are great, their potatoe salad is something to talk about as well! So good! Not for us.. for what you get very over priced. We tried this place twice. We waited a long time and it was dead. The chicken tenders were way too chewy and tasted too bland/cold. Both the times the chicken was not cooked right. The fries were really bad as well.. not a good flavor & just too old not even fresh. The toast..well that's all it is. Not even Texas Toast but plain ol toast that's bland. Do not agree with the other reviewer at all. The only thing I thought was ok was the chocolate jar dessert. My wife and I stopped in for lunch for the first time. We were greeted as soon as we came into the restaurant. We each ordered the 4 piece chicken tender meal with fries. I asked for the fries to be cooked extra crispy. No sooner had we filled our drinks and got to our table, the server was right behind us with our orders! (HOW DID THE COOK THIS TO ORDER SO FAST?) The chicken tenders were very tasty and hot however the fries were lukewarm. The floors were very greasy giving the restaurant the appearance of being dirty. Bathroom was ok. I should have checked YELP before I went in. This restaurant has a total of 22 - 1 star ratings with similar issues of what I experienced. (lukewarm fries, dirty floors.) I gave it a 3 star rating because the chicken tenders and dipping sauce (cayenne ranch) were quite good! I don't anticipate returning until I see improvement in their ratings. read more

Ok!! This place is awesome!! Totally worth trying. The cayenne ranch chicken sandwich is the best fast food chicken sandwich I've ever tasted!!! Plus, the drive thru attendant, Brandon, gave the best drive thru experience we have ever had. Kudos slim chickens, you just beat out Popeyes, raising Cane's, and KFC and maybe even Chik fil A. Very good chicken tenders and fries. We live a few minutes from this location and it satisfies our taste for fried chicken once or month. North Plainfield needed a chicken restaurant with a good price point, and this is it. We have noticed that the tenders have decreased in size and that the breading seasoning seems to be less flavorful since we started going there six months ago, but it's not a dealbreaker. My only suggestion regarding service is that the drive through speaker makes the employees difficult to understand. Or maybe they are talking to closely to the microphone. All in all, a good place for a quick meal and is much better quality and flavor of chicken than they competitor next door. read more

Everyone always says Chick-fil-a has the nicest chicken staff around but this place is genuinely awesome. I take my sons here every Sunday for the kids deals and the crew is always so nice. New chicken spot. It has been open 2 weeks still adjusting. Friday nite 7:30p. Saw the drive thru decided to try inside. Tight quarters. The entrance and restroom are too close to the front counter. The dining area has maybe 15 - 20 tables/booths. Maegan at the register was very helpful & informative. Nice variety of chicken options & several sauces, as well. Food came out relatively quickly. It was hot and fresh. I ordered 5 wings & 5 tenders. Tenders had flavor they were not bland. Not complaining, but yes wings could use some more meat. Had the mac 'n cheese. It was ok. The toast/bread should be changed or done w/o. I overall had nice experience will try again in a few months. read more
