I just got there four piece tender meal, and it's so good, whoever made my food needs a raise. They ate, but I actually ate it

I don't understand why Slim Chickens has such a low rating on here! We're not from the area and needed to grab something at Walmart. I smelled the fried chicken from the parking lot and decided to grab some food to try out. I was excited to see chicken and waffles on their menu and knew instantly that's what I would be getting. The waffle was light and fluffy and heart shaped. Their fried tenders are seasoned nicely and, compared to other fast food fried chicken I've had, these were so good I didn't even need any sauce. When you think about other places for fried tenders, I always get their "special" sauce or something like Buffalo. I was bummed I forgot to ask for a sauce, but I didn't even need it. We also got a banana jar dessert, which is banana cream pie in a cute mason jar that I get to take home as a "free" souvenir. The banana dessert was really sweet and a nice blend of each ingredient. The girl helping at the drive thru was really nice and welcoming, and it was a great experience. We will definitely need to stop by again before flying home. read more

First time at this location in Maricopa, Arizona. I've been to Slim Chicken in Owensboro, Kentucky and had great experiences. So I was thrilled to see that there are locations here in the Southwest. The service is always outstanding! Warning greeted, far, professional and fresh. The restaurant is always very clean and presentable. Clean bathrooms, tables, floors and the diner smells good. I've NEVER had wings that somehow managed to be dry, cold, overcooked and tasteless all at the same time. I've been going to Slim Chickens since it opened in Maricopa and it's been steady good quality food. The staff are friendly and the inside is nice. I usually get the slims meal, my boyfriend has tried other things and the only compliant we have are the portion sizes being a bit small. read more

My fiancé got the chicken and waffles and I got the salad both were amazing... the waffles is melt in your mouth soft and the chicken was very flavorful. The salad is a flavor a never had and very much so a party in your mouth with friend onion, pepperoncini, finely diced carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers. You get two sauces so I got balsamic vinaigrette and ranch... Both were amazing as well when lightly drizzled. They also had this cheesecake in a jar, which was to die for. The staff were amazing and very nice and the restaurant is so was very clean and spacious as well as outside sitting area. The second time we went through the drive-through and it was smooth with what seems to be an easy process. This is definitely my go to now.. 10/10! read more

Absolute failure. Bought a chicken club sandwich meal and buffalo Mac n cheese. I got home, opened the bag and it was wrong right away. They gave me a tender Mac bowl without the buffalo sauce. (A completely separate menu item) So I take a bite into the chicken sandwich and despite being LOADED beyond belief with mayonnaise to the point my bun was sliding, I was physically unable to bite through the chicken. It was the same consistency as the sole of a used goodwill shoe. It seems odd to me that a place with "chicken" in their name is an absolute failure at making a chicken sandwich. Single handedly the most disgraceful and worst chicken sandwich I've had. Ever. In 33 years.. Literally anywhere else has better chicken. Stay away. read more

First time here since the restaurant opened in November. Back then, the lines were insane, so I couldn't go until the hype settled down. The exterior was hella clean, and there are two drive thru lines as well as a covered outdoor seating area. There was no line, so the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. I felt bad for having so many questions but Hayden was super sweet and patient as she offered suggestions on food to try while going over the dipping sauce options (there weren't numbers on the menus for meals, so it threw me off a bit). The food also came out pretty quickly, so I was in and out all in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the honey barbecue 8 piece wing meal, which comes with fries and two dipping sauces. I also got the fried pickle chips. The signature Slim sauce is okay, but I wasn't really a fan. My adult son also preferred the ranch over the signature sauce. The wings were actually better than I expected, based on the reviews prior to visiting. They had the perfect amount of sauce, and they weren't dry. The pickles...they taste like sour beer batter. You can hardly taste the pickle, which is weird because the sourness is there but the pickle flavor itself is overpowered by the breading. It's also kind of soggy instead of crispy, and there's this weird aftertaste that lingers long after trying to wash it down with two glasses of water. I didn't try the Texas toast (that's too much bread for me), but my son liked it. Also, this establishment seems to have missed the memo that styrofoam is bad for the environment. I don't personally drink non diet soda (and I don't touch coke), so I gave the drink to my son. I kind of really wish the company would have used paper cups instead, and it sticks out as an unusual choice in the world we live in. Second time here. I went on opening day. The drive through was backed up the 347. I decided to stand in line, after 30 minutes. I left. I went back today andI got there around 10:45. I was on my way, with my food by 11:00 . I ordered the Tender Mac Bowl with french fries. I chose the buffalo and Cayenne ranch for my dipping sauces. The bowl came with their toast. The French fries were piping hot, the mac & cheese sauce, not warm enough. The chicken tenders were perfectly crispy and hot too. The Toast was cold too. The sauce for the mac & cheese is good with a little tang to it. The pasta perfectly cooked. I'm usually not a fan of Buffalo sauce, but I really like theirs... not heavily, salted or too much vinegar. The Cayenne ranch is amazing Great on the french fries too. I would definitely come back and try some thing else. Did I especially one of the deserts in the jar. The patio is dog friendly, which is nice because they're not a lot of dog friendly establishments in Maricopa. The patio is really nice especially that the weather is cooling off. I look forward dining out there. Opening day they did over $36,000 in sales. This is the first franchise x30 to be open in Arizona. Next one will be opening in Happy Valley. read more

The fries were so salty I couldn't eat them, it was like giving a salt lick to a horse. The wings, what can I say, in never saw anything that small before. This was our 3rd time of coming here. First 2 times I got a chicken sandwich, the flavor for those was good but they use chicken strips for the chicken on them so was not impressed at all. Our first time going was opening week and I left a review for that. They were awesome then but of course they had another experience store running it that week. This visit we ordered ahead on the app but ate in store. My husband had a coupon on the app so that's how we had to order. I decided to get the chicken strips this time and while the flavor was good, I had to laugh. It actually looked like what should have been a kids meal. I've never seen chicken strips so small and skinny. The fries were too salty but the toast was good. Forgot, on our second visit i got the chicken sandwich and asked for the sauce on the side instead of on the sandwich and they then charged me for a side of sauce. Who does this? If it comes on the sandwich but you ask for it on the side instead you should not be charged for it. If they had told me that ahead of time I would have just said forget it. read more

Another new fast-food restaurant popped up in town since I've returned from Hawaii. Of course we had to try it, even though the line was hella long. But it moved fairly quickly. It definitely gave us time to browse the menu. We decided to dine-in and ordered the 3 x 3 (3 tenders, three wings, fries, and Texas Toast. For dipping sauces we asked for Blue cheese, Ranch, Slims, and Gravy; yes, gravy! We also ordered a Crispy Chicken Sandwich with added tomato and lettuce. For a side we ordered Mac n Cheese. I decided to order a chocolate milk shake, which I rarely do. They gave us a numbered placard and we grabbed a table. We waited for a good 15 minutes before the food was brought out, but we expected it due to the amount of customers. We were asked if we needed anything else before he left. Management and other team members also came around a few times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. That was nice! Now to our food. The chicken tenders were good. It was lightly breaded and seasoned well. They were more moist than dry. The fries were really good, seasoned and crispy. The wings were kind of on the dry side. They must get them precooked then frozen. They definitely were not cooked fresh. They were edible. My chicken sandwich could've used more breading. When I think of a crispy chicken sandwich, I imagine a good seasoned thicker coating of batter to complement the meat. The chicken was thinner than I expected, but for $5.99 it wasn't bad. The Mac n Cheese pasta was really gummy to the bite. I really wasn't expecting much and it's basically your standard Mac n cheese you'd normally get from a fast food chain. Now the chocolate shake was a stand out. It was one of the best shakes I ever had. It was perfect! It wasn't too sweet and it didn't leave me coughing in between slurps like others I had. Others I tried left a chalky feeling in my throat. This version was a straight-up chocolate delight. So, although the food overall was about a 3 1/2 star experience, the Slim Chicken team made it a solid 4-star experience! read more

Walked into establishment to dine in with my Son. While getting our soda before sitting down we was swarmed by flys that was all over the soda counter. As we went to pick a seat all I seen was flys on tables on windows. Store was filled with flys. I spoke to some man sitting by a table on a lap top that works there. His response was well we sprayed and this the season. So you mean to tell me as a paying customer we have to put up with this because it's the season ?? Then a young girl behind the counter with fake eyelashes looking at me like I got 100 heads because I spoke up about the situation. All around disaster. The first thing that stands out to me here is the excellent and thoughtful service . We were checked on several times to make sure we didn't need anything, and when we did, they were incredibly fast - especially considering how busy they were. The food was great - and the sauces recommended by the staff ended up being a really great addition to the food. We ordered the chicken tender baskets, with the toast. The toast was also really unique, and great! A bit garlicky, a little bit of salt, a different take on the usual tender basket texas toast. We really enjoyed our experience here. Even though the crowd was massive, luckily there was enough room for us out on the patio which was definitely comfortable enough for several parties. Ordered the kids 2pc kids meal for my daughter, asked for not toast end up with extra toast. Ordered potato salad and fried mushrooms with a side of ranch. Mushroom was soggy and the ranch was watery. I would think if they make the slim sauce thick so would the ranch. Amazing! I use to go to the one in Gilbert before it closed down and was sad they never reopened one close to me in AZ. Then went to Texas and stopped at the Slim chickens there just so I could have it. Once I heard they had one built in Maricopa I knew I had to go (drove from Chandler just for it haha) Brought back so many memories of when I was younger and would go with my family as a nice outting.
