I eat at Slims at least 3 times per week and spend between 15-30.00 each visit. My last 3 visits my fries were old and room temp. Tonight I asked for hot fries and they were warm and way too salty, my toast was burnt. The toast was so burnt I couldn't eat 1/2 of it and couldn't eat any of the fries b/c of all the salt. I absolutely love the Cheesecake jar which is always amazing. I think from here on out that will be the only thing I order (the jar). Your food is not worth the money I'm paying b/c it's always sub par. read more

We are new to Texas and so far this was the best tasting sauce and chicken we've had so far. Not to mention how fast we got our delivery order. Everything tasted good sides , sauce , and chicken. Wings were perfectly seasoned and not too salty like some places. I usually don't get tenders but I think Slims is the place I'll run to for my new found craving of tenders. Okay, Slim Chickens, I see you and your plethora of options and delicious spices. This quick counter service restaurant with a drive thru has chicken any way you want it in any kind of sauce you want. You can also get chicken and waffles... in a drive thru... at the snap of your fingers. Need I say more? Inside feels less like a McDonald's and more like a trendy farmhouse sports bar (minus the alcohol). Overall it's got a good vibe with quick service. It's totally perfect for tailgating fare, a quick meal and even if you're trying to be somewhat healthy (you can ask for your chicken grilled instead of fried). As we walked in, an older gentleman walked by and said "this place is loud, but the food is good." Think Chicken Express, but with better food. Think Zaxby's, but cheaper. Think Raising Cane's, but with more food options. I reallly like the price to food ratio. $6.99 gets you a drink, a side (and there's like, 6 options or something, fries to mac n cheese to fried mushrooms), buttered toast, and tenders. You also get two choices on the dipping sauce. I don't personally recommend the mango habanero. Think thin and sticky, not unlike sweet and sour sauce-- was hoping for more of that thick, opaque, volatile orange mango habanero sauce like Buffalo Wild Wings' has. BUT their honey dijon mustard was much better than anticipated. I kept eating past fullness just to dip everything in it., They have brewed flavored tea (raspberry and peach) in addition to the standard sweet and unsweet. Like Chick Fil A, Slim's isn't dripping with grease and you can tell it's actual chicken and not some deep fried chicken waste from the slaughterhouse floor, rolled into a white meat tender and left under a heat lamp all day. Technically, that's still 100% chicken. And you think God rested on the 7th day, but nah, he was making chicken and waffles for his crew and behold, Slim's came kneeling before him with a Texas state waffle iron and completed the chicken trifecta: lightly breaded/properly seasoned chicken tenders, a Texas waffle and syrup that doesn't require a restraining order. That being said, the sultry teenagers working at this particular location, clearly don't realize that speaking INTO the microphone at the drive-thru turns "woeirjlas asdjfwibghb asklerbgnxpwye" into "No, the sauces are on the side" when you ask them if you can sub the second sauce for extra syrup. There's so many good chicken strip places in Dallas, it's hard to compete. Slim Chickens was good, but probably my least favorite of any serious contenders. Price wise I compared it to Super Chix, but the portions were smaller and it just wasn't as good. The strips were similar size as Raising Canes, but more expensive and not as good. Honestly, it's barely a 3 in my book. It's new, so I don't know, maybe I'll try it again. read more

Seen this place on Yelp months ago for another location, thought I'd never pass one but as soon as I seen this location I knew we had to stop. And I'm glad we did. I got the Cayenne Ranch Chicken Sandwich. (only down side was the size of the chicken) kinda small didn't cover the whole bun, but dang, it was delicious and the flavors were great together. My Boyfriend got the 8 piece wings, and one great thing here they do that most wing/chicken places don't, they let him choose however many sauces he wanted to try on the wings. We upgraded our cups to the larger size which was a souvinier cup and that was .50 cents a piece and our total came to like $17 something. Next time I have to try the desserts that come in the cutest mason jars stacked inside. They have different choices to choose from so that's cool. read more

The service was a little slow, not sure why but they seemed to be taking advantage of the slow customer base to clean so I can't be upset about that. The food was great! They have an amazing selection of sauces so you really can dress your chicken how you like. On my first visit, I was recommended the chicken & waffles. I like chicken & waffles, so I gave it a try. Went through the drive-thru and parked immediately to eat (sleeping baby in the back). The waffle was just a standard waffle, like one you'd get at a hotel complimentary breakfast. As a pair, I didn't like the chicken with the waffle. It just wasn't that good, at all. The chicken was really quite good on its own and I liked it dipped in their house sauce (Slim sauce). The second time I ate here, hubby picked up food and brought it home. I just got tenders this time (and of course fries and a drink because make you order a whole meal...). The Slim sauce wasn't as good this time, but I did like the honey mustard. The tenders themselves were a little ...off. For being as pricey as it is, I think I'll let them work out their kinks before I try to go back, and then hopefully I can get a better read. read more

I went back and gave Slim Chickens another try. I am glad I did! This time I went through the drive thru and ordered a Slim Plate. I ordered Slim sauce and gravy with that. The drive thru process was very good...quick ordering and a short wait with 2 cars in front of me. The staff at the window were friendly and everything in my order was correct. The chicken strips were good size and very fresh and hot. Just the right amount of breading. The strips are not very seasoned so you really need something to dip it in. The Slim sauce was good. Slightly sweet and salty at the same time. Gravy was great and. And in slightly larger cups than the Slim sauce which was good. The Texas toast was ok...a little dry but nice addition. The iced tea was AWESOME. I will be back again to give the wings another go and will post again when I do. read more

We decided to go on opening day to try the new Hurst store. We have eaten at the one on Tarrant Parkway a couple times without incident. I ordered the chicken tenders with mac and cheese. It was average. The chicken tenders were bland and the mac & cheese slightly cold. The slim sauce was watery and tasted metallic to me. The big problem was with my wife's order. She had the wings and fries. Fries were ok m but the wings were a huge problem. 4 of the 8 wings looked undercooked (see pictures). The manager justified how they were cooked and didn't seem to understand that is incredibly unappetizing. We have been to many wing places and never seen this in anybody else's wings. To conclude average chicken and nothing outstanding about Slim's, I will stick with Cane's for tenders and anywhere else for wings. BE CAUTIOUS WITH THE SLIM'S WINGS!! read more

Slim's chicken is pretty great chicken, I ordered the 5&5, which included 5 chicken tenders and 5 chicken wings. It also came with Texas toast, fries and a medium drink. One of the best parts is that you can choose the type of sauce for the wings and you can choose 2 dipping sauces for the tenders. I highly recommend trying the spicy bbq and mango habanero if you love having some spiciness in your meal. The chicken wings were fresh and hot, but a little bit dry. The chicken tenders were extremely juicy, but I would like for the chicken tenders to be more crispy. All in all, I would highly recommend trying out this place if you're in hurst because the food is extremely fresh and is a great value. read more

Slim Chickens was the first place that came to mind. So I placed an online order and was told that it would be ready by a specific time. When we got there (a few minutes later than the ready time), I went inside and was BARELY greeted by a worker named Mercedes. I told her I was there to pick up an online order and gave her my name. She tells me it hasn't even been cooked yet. I assume I had a concerned look on my face, because she proceeded to show me all the receipts of everyone else who was in front of me. If you were behind, just say that. Showing me other people's orders with an attitude is uncalled for. Needless to say, 20 minutes later, I got our food... with cold fries. The food is pretty good, better than Canes in my opinion. However the service has not been consistent. Dine-In : Quiet environment, clean tables, etc. My basket always looks full and yummy. Employees occasionally come around and ask how things are, very friendly. (more than half the time) Drive-Thru : Missing items from my order, wrong drink, and no receipt. I shouldn't have to check my bank account to make sure I was charged correctly.... (all on multiple occasions since opening). Overall advice : If you have time to go inside, it's way better. But if you're doing drive through make sure everything is right before you pull off and make sure you were given a receipt. read more

This is directly in front of the office that we have in Hurst, Texas. Thus, it is a quick and easy lunch when I'm visiting. Normally, I would take advantage of being in Texas to have some nice barbecue or Mexican food, but I have grown to really like this place. I'm a big fan of chicken and waffles for pretty much any meal of the day. I finally decided to try out their wings and tenders on my last visit. The tenders were pretty standard fare, but fortunately they were moist inside as I really hate dry white meat chicken. But the wings were definitely better than I have had in some time. I highly recommend trying the wings with the garlic sauce. And please be mindful that you don't have to have french fries. They don't charge extra for swapping out the french fries for any of their other sides. I find that the fried mushrooms are much tastier and go with just about every one of the dips that you can choose with your meal. I also appreciate that this place has good beverages. I'm not a big fan of Pepsi products so the opportunity to get a bunch of different beverages here, including root beer, is welcoming. I have tried a couple of the desserts, but nothing was super amazing. Compared to the very affordable chicken meals that they have I found the desserts to be kind of expensive as well. But don't go for the desserts, go for the chicken and waffles. That's where they really Excel. read more
