Terrible experience! Will never purchase or recommend SleepNumber anything! Totally misled about 100 night trial - told no financial risk if returned in 100 night trial. Actually cost us the $250 delivery fee and $250 return fee!. So the "no risk 100 night trial" cost us $500! Sent us an i8 split bed that was incomplete and unfixable because the part required to keep the bed from sagging in the middle had been discontinued! Buyer beware! read more

It could not be possible to be more distressed at hearing from my elderly parents about their experience at this sleep number location, and with Sleep Number as a whole. I just got off the phone with my mother and she mentioned that she wanted to write a THIRD letter to this company. "Why?" I asked. It turns out that after they survived the trauma of the Camp Fire in my hometown of Paradise, CA, they had splurged on a sleep number bed to help them get a good nights sleep. The salesman at this location assured them that it was FULLY refundable (except for the mattress topper). After a month trying it out, they decided it was not really helping them to sleep better, and began the return process. To their dismay, the fine print of the contract stated that the base of the bed ($1,800!!! Cost) was not returnable. Granted, they should have read the fine print. But the reason for my one star review is: 1) the salesman knew my parents were elderly. 2) the salesman knew my parents had recently experienced a traumatic event. (AKA their town had just burned up and they barely escaped the flames) Is there any excuse to wheel & deal two senior citizens by guaranteeing them something verbally while hiding fine print in a contract that contradicts what they're guaranteeing? I could not help but share their experience with others, and I'm sure that any reputable company would want to make things right. Thanks for the quick response, Chris. I understand you think it's important for your customers to know that...after purchase. My main issue is the lack of transparency PRE-purchase, which led to this misunderstanding. My problem is my parents paid to have the old bed taken but they didnt due to all this covid stuff going on, not taking the bed is fine and totally understandable at this time but it just seems disappointing that they wouldn't even get a partial refund for only taking the bed when they were told multiple times it would be. So now they are out on the money they paid for a service that couldn't be provided. Just an update in case anybody was wondering about the return process for sleep number. Absolutely horrible. No less than a week for them to come pick up bed, give you a 3 hour time frame in middle of day during week so you have to take off from work. Your money does not get refunded until 7-10 business days after they pick up, return to factory, and inspect it. I know I'm gonna be taking pictures of everything they take cause I definitely do not trust this company will be fair and will be getting full refund. Also customer service very rude. This store is the worst. We ordered a queen double S3 size bed. We worked with Mary for three days and she placed the order. We just received the bed from UPS and it was not what we ordered. The company told us the store ordered the wrong bed. When I called the store and spoke with Peter the manager he blamed us. I told him "why would we order a single bed when there are two of us?" The boxes aren't even open and they are charging us to send the bed back and saying it was a trial. WHAT, are you kidding we NEVER even opened the boxes or put the bed together! Totally mislead by salesperson. mattress failed after only a month of use. When I first asked about twin XL I was told it would work on a hospital type bed. Wrong!! After contacting customer service I was told they would send someone out to repair it. I have no need for a extra mattress that will not fit any of my beds. My Husband wanted a cooling Pillow like I have, and went to sleep Number because we thought that's where I got my pillow. Well to get to the point the pillow he got was not like mine he had it for 1 night and brought it back, the salesman told him we can exchange it for a different one if that's what he wanted, he asked if he didn't like the new pillow could he return it, the salesmen told him that they would not take the second pillow back and so he asked for his money back for a refund. They told him that they would not give him a refund only an exchange. If they can do an exchange then why not just give the money back since the customer is unhappy with the purchase, now we are stuck with this pillow that we will never use. NOT Happy at all, poor customer service, and when we asked for the number to contact the manager they rudely said " I'm not giving you my managers number" We will never go back to this place and will tell everyone we know about our experience and tell them not to shop at this place read more

DO NOT BUY! I repeat don't buy this bed. If I could give zero stars I would. We were hoping to get the best night sleep but all we got was pain. We were so excited for our i8 flex top king bed to arrive. Took over 3 months to have it delivered. Slept on it two weeks and woke up every morning barely able to walk. We called to exchange and they insisted we give it 30 days. So we waited until the 30 days was up. Called again, was informed that our adjustable base was non returnable. Was never told that in store, in the store all you hear is 100 nights to try it out. Lies! So since we were already stuck with a $4000 base we decided to upgrade to the i10 full spilt king. I asked multiple times that if we were not satisfied with this mattress after sleeping on it what could we do. I was told we could do one more exchange or return but that would be the last one. Took another 6 weeks for delivery and right away we knew it wasn't the right one, bed slides apart, feels like it only fills up in the middle so the sides slope down. IT IS A GLORIFIED AIR MATTRESS! Just called to make a return and was now told after our exchange it was a final sale. WTF! So one person can tell you that you can exchange and then the next says nope. So now we are out $12,000 and get to put these air mattresses in storage. This company is a scam. Have you slept on a camping air mattress? Yes that's what it is. Do not waste your money! read more

Update: After talking to a customer service about the pillow situation they are sending a brand new pillow (hopefully lol) this week. Also, a representative from the company by the name of Shelly called me back and I told her the whole story and we all laughed at the ridiculousness and chauvinistic undertones of "Pete." I'm sure he'll be spoken to or written up and it will have no bearing on his career whatsoever, but maybe if he's lucky, he'll get to sit in one of those 8 hour seminars that teaches men of a certain era how to speak to and treat women in the year 2020. Although I would still give the Chico store zero stars, that is strictly based on their power-tripping, mansplaining, sorry excuse for a manager "Pete." Everyone else I've dealt with has been great. After informing me their trucks had been cross contaminated with covid19 their position was still not to refund anything. I bought my elderly mother a bed here and after it didn't show up on time they informed me it was because their trucks had been cross contaminated with covid19. Obviously I wanted a refund and was told no they would only refund the mattress, why would anyone want the stuff that goes with the matress without the matress who knows. Clearly sleep number is a scam and they do not care about the costumer. Now I will say Chuck and Mike were likeable guys but did nothing to try to help and when I went into talk about the matter the lady yelled over to Mike "that's Chuck's something" so clearly I had been the topic of discussion at at the store and clearly an annoyance to them. The things I wanted to return had not even been delivered yet and they very easily could have helped me out but they decided against that even during a pandemic they stated was was the problem. Who many of you want your parents in a bed that the company says has been in a cross contaminated truck? Probably none right. Well don't shop at sleep number Chico then. After i made the original purchase they no longer wanted anything to do with me (they already made they're sale) Chuck never returned calls. He also said he'd have Mike call (he never did either) and the product itself is a gimmick unless you don't role over when you sleep. I was extremely let down by the sales people at the Chico store. Our bed was delivered on 9/27 and has had problems staying aired up since the first night. The first available apt they had for a technician to come out was today, 10/11. The technician showed up looking for a piece that was supposed to have been delivered, which we of course were told nothing of. Then proceeded to try and fix it with what he had in the truck. He wrapped up saying he didn't know if it would work or not and that we would need to contact customer service to schedule ANOTHER technician to come out. I went down to the Chico store to deal with them and they basically broomed me with a "here's a card to call customer service, they'll come pick it up." What a waste of time and money. read more

This is one of the worst companies I have had to deal with. They will not honor their warranty, even after I contacted their corporate offices. The most interesting issue I have found with this company is that they don't seem to keep records of sale. If you can't place your hand on your sales receipt, they wash their hands of any and all responsibility. Horrible customer service and warranty. I purchased a very expensive foam support pillow from the Chico store, in December 2014. Around September of 2015 the pillow failed and compressed so much that there was not any support for my head, so I contacted the store and they told me to bring it in and they would take care of it. I brought the pillow into the store and they told me that no, I needed to contact customer support and they would send me a replacement pillow and maybe have me send mine back. After numerous attempts to get through, I spent 20 minutes on hold waiting for assistance from Christina. I explained my problem and they told me that it is not a manufactures defect and they would not warranty the pillow under the 5 year warranty. "Is the material that the pillow is made from not manufactured by the company!" Then, I called the local Chico store back and was told by the manager that he did not realized that it wouldn't be covered and there was nothing that could be done. I asked for the district manager to contact me and I was also told that there was nothing that they would do, so they would not contact me. Here are my grievances: 1. Employees at local store do not know their product line and how to manage a claim. 2. Sleep Number does not have any means to convey a problem. 3. At first everything seemed to be great. We bought a sleep number bed and was told if we don't like it, then we can return it. They wanted us to try it out for 100 days. I have a bad back so I thought this was fair. Needless to say, it didn't work out for me. No matter what setting I put it at, I woke up extremely stiff. I never had a bed that did that. We called to return it and they told us the bed can be returned but not the base with the adjustable mechanism. That was ours now and not returnable. What kind of scam is that? Why would that part not be returnable? We went along with it because I couldn't keep the sleepnumber bed since it was killing my back. They did tell us on the phone that the base can be used with any bed. That's not the point. I think if you are going to offer customers to try out the bed, then all if it should be returnable. I would not recommend the sleep number bed. I have since heard other complaints regarding sleep number. I wish I would have done a little more homework on this before purchasing. Reading the past posts for this store, I find myself in the same boat as Kathy G. Went in around January 12th to get more information. Sales guy was really nice and seemed knowledgeable. Reassured me that I had nothing to loose as they have a 100 day return policy on the beds. After spending over $7,700.00 on a mattress and adjustable base, then finding out after receiving it, that it was nothing but a glorified, 2 sided air mattress, I made the call to return it. To my surprise, the sales guys forgot to mention before I signed, that the $4,000.00 base was not refundable and only the $3,000.00 air mattress was. Total scam! I tried to deal direct with Peter at the Chico store to start. I asked Peter to help me with the process of the mattress return and vowed to fight them on the base. He gave me the runaround and did absolutely nothing for me for over a month, including always giving me excuses why he could not put me in touch with the Regional Manager, Wendy Ermshar, nor give me her contact information. This has been an absolute nightmare and will never purchase another sleep number product as long as I live. Off to court to file a lawsuit now! read more

Superior sleep experience? Sure! But, the sales people will literally say whatever they need to, in order to make the sale. The sales person promised me delivery on a specific day. It turns out they can't make that promise. So I called corporate ba k & the gal says they can only deliver on X date. I said "well, I'll be out of town until after 1." She says no problem, I'll put it in the system. The delivery people give me a phone call & an automated message says they'll be there 9-1. I call the number left & it says I won a Walmart gift card for $100, press 1. So I do & can't understand the person because of his heavy accent. I ask him if be is with Sleep Number & he doesn't answer. I ask again, same thing. I say, I don't understand, are you with Sleep Number or not. He begins yelling. I ask to speak to his supervisor & he hangs up on me. I call back & found out that pressing 1 IS the only option. So, it depends how frustrated you want to get over actually receiving your bed. Gave one star because they don't have a negative star. Sales person and installers stated multiple times that you have a 100 days to evaluate bed and return the bed if you are not satisfied. However, they don't mention that the 100 days is for the mattress only and you are committed to purchase the adjustable base, which moves the bed up and down. The cost of the base is approximately 60% of the total cost and you are on the hook to return the mattress, which has an attached fee as well. Furthermore the delivery date promised, was two weeks late. Once the purchase has been made from the salesperson, all customer service is now on their terms. Customer service personnel are well disciplined at cutting you off when you try to explain why you want to return the bed. They quickly advise you that you are stuck with the base and the costs associated with it. They further advise us, in a very curt and indignant tone, that we should read the fine print next time. I agree, buyer be aware! It appears the staff does not fully disclose the details of the 100 days to return and do not believe the staff and customer service will be more than happy to point out that you are not a smart consumer for not reading all of the multiple pages of fine print. read more
