Slap fish has amazing service!! The employees are very welcoming and efficient. The seafood here is super yummy as well. I ordered the giant crunchy fish taco and it was great. They have a lot of very refreshing fountain beverages that are not your typical coke or Pepsi products. The restaurant is order at the register and self seating but employees still walk around the restaurant helping sat guests. A visit to Slapfish made me feel really ripped off. The catfish bites were tasty but not worth the $14 (6 small pieces), they did serve up a massive amount of sweet potato fries. However, the amount of fries was too many, I just wanted more fish. My friends lobster roll was small and the chowder fries were surprisingly small compared to how much sweet potato fries they gave me. I enjoy seafood but not the way Slapfish charges, wow me with the fish not the amount of filler. read more

Food was delicious!! We started off with the clam chowder and it was very tasty! My crispy shrimp tacos were to die for! The shrimp batter was so crispy and flavorful! Each taco had 3 huge shrimp plus I got 2 on the side! So a total of 8 large shrimp! The flavors of the cabbage slaw, avocado, pickled onions and sauces were a delight! Would definitely recommend!! This part of town is beginning to resurface on my radar. When it comes to fish, this place does it well. You can get caught up in looking at their regular menu but the fun is in ordering from the menu written in marker on butcher paper. There will be fish on their that, unless you're an expert, you have probably never heard of before. You can then ask for it to be prepped in whatever fashion you prefer. I went with the classic good ole fish and chips, I chose wahoo "ono" as the fish and it did not disappoint. You know what else didn't disappoint, the fries (errr chips), the seasoning was bomb. I believe fries can always be taken to another level (not by substituting for sweet potato fries) by seasoning them just right and these are on point. Stop by and give this place a try but order the freshness, written in sharpie marker because that's how it's supposed to be done. We tried the coconut shrimp bowl, grilled shrimp bowl, grilled salmon tacos, chips/salsa and the chowder. Everything was amazing. The sauces made it all that much better, the slap sauce was our favorite. The employees were courteous and attentive and came to the table to check on us a few times. I would say "don't bother ". The food (fish and chips ) was fairly good. Good-- like Long John Silvers level but much more expensive.

Incredibly slow... both times ive been here i have waited 30 mins for simple mahi mahi fish bowl. food is good though.

We went to the Grand Opening today! First 100 customers received a free lobster roll and Cajun chips. The wait was well worth it! I have to admit that that even though the roll is small there is a ton of lobster and you will get full. The roll is amazing and the lobster is even better. We got ours to go. I ordered delivery from Slapfish via DoorDash. And normally have a good experience with them when I come to Albuquerque. OK, here we go. I'll eliminate the fries as I know that's going to be a disaster when delivered but they make you order it on line. With that said, Lobster Taquitos cold old and lifeless. Lobster, crab, shrimp roll gross. And I ordered New England Chowder and I could turn it upside down and it wouldn't fall out. I even left a $10 delivery tip. If your looking for something different than your traditional New Mexican style food, this place it worth a try. However it does still have their own New Mexican twist alongside a great seafood joint. It would almost be as if New Mexico was on the East Coast bay. The prices are average for good seafood, but what I loved about it is you get your money's worth in taste and amount. The lobster and crab was fresh and meaty. This new location was a lot bigger than their other location. They were clean. There was an outlet at every table. The cashier went around the counter to us to help explain their menu with us. I don't remember the exact name of the meal we got but my cousin got the two hand held taco with fries. I got the burrito that was listed right under it. The taco was really good but the fish tasted fresh. I'm never even a big fan of fish but it wa good. My burrito was okay. Just a normal shrimp and potato burrito. Note that both google maps and my phone map do not give correct directions- they sent me to Dillard's and Dave and Busters. The restaurant is around the parking lot from Dave and Busters. We enjoyed our meal very much. We ordered 'power bowls' and loved the fresh fish as well as the fresh salad. Great vinaigrette, which I find hard to find. So Disappointed. Ordered the Lobster Grinder and it was a little bit of shrimp and Pollock (a cheap white fish sometimes referred to as imitation lobster and crab). I got 3 tiny pieces of fish about 10 fries a shriveled sweet pepper and some purple cabbage. Looks like they were trying to savor anything they had. I read that this place got new owners and I'm very disappointed in what they've done to slap fish. I should of known something was up when I walked in and there was not a single soul in there.
