Great service with a smile and great fish and chips. Will be back soon.best fish in Abq.

I was looking forward to trying this place out. It did not disappoint. The lobster was big chunks and very delicious. The rolls/buns were great! Buttery and fresh. The fries were also very crisp and delicious. The only downside was that it was a little expensive for purchasing your meal at the counter. We filled our own drinks and had to get our own silverware. It was restsurant quality food (and prices) with fast food service. It felt a bit off... but the food was good. read more

Delivered daily, fresh fish options straight to the sands and mountains of Albuquerque. I know, I know, fish in a landlocked area is a dangerous game. But danger is their middle name. Which is really anti climatic because there is absolutely no fear when ordering your catch of the day at Slap Fish. I could have made a meal out of my Lobster Taquitos alone but I had to over do it and order the Ultimate Fish taco too. You can tell that everything from the sauces to the pickles are made in house, not to mention their variety of non-gmo sodas ( my favorite was the cucumber). I cannot say enough about the quality and the artistic blend of flavors. We will back to work our way down the menu without fear of ordering fish in a land lovers town read more

I usually don't like to get any fish food or anything. But. This place caught my eye and I decided to give some sushi a try and let me tell you, I LOVED IT. I will for sure be coming back and for sure be trying more of their menu. Maybe I'll turn into a seafood fanatic! read more

Very rude owner! We had ordered and asked if the table could be cleaned of others dirty dishes. He said go to another table and he'd get to it in 10-15 minutes. My husband came with our drinks and he mouthed off to him as well as two older ladies next to us. He cleaned the table with the attitude of a child then pretty much threw our number at us. We are business owners as well and customers deserve to be treated with respect. You NEVER know who your talking to. We are choosing to spend our time and money there. Sadly we went here often and are NEVER going back again. So many other places to choose from in Abq. read more

Service was amazing (note it was not crowded at all). We had the grilled shrimp roll with fríes (awesome sauce), the grilled street taco, and the poke bowl. All were really great, but we immediately knew (before we ordered the street taco) that our 2 entrees were not gonna be enough! They give you 10 shrimp in the roll, but the piece of bread is like one itty bitty slice of really good garlic bread--so be warned. Also soda selection is awesome-gooood unique flavors. And there are beers and cider on tap! Boom. So glad this place opened up before summertime! read more

Whatever you do definitely try the Clobster grilled cheese! It is thee best sandwich ever in Albuquerque ever. Im being super honest. We tried one of their specialties as well but oh no, if I knew about the taste of the lobster sandwich I would take that for all. You would be disappointed if you try something else read more

Great service and even told us to put in the app to save us money!

Came in on a Saturday night Great food and service no wait. Employee made a great suggestion on what dish to try

Good food and service. we ordered the mahi mahi bowl and the lobster and crab melt. Both were delicious and filling. We will be back!

I ordered the lobster roll and clam chowder. I paid $35 dollars for a roll that was subpar. There wasn't much flavor to the lobster. Had a fishy taste to it which was unappealing. The clam chowder was extremely thick and had bits of grit in it. I was not happy with this meal. I didn't complain to the restaurant because I was so hungry I ate it all. I asked other people about this restaurant and they thought it tasted bad because it was cold (they ordered it through (Doordash). I was disappointed because it looked like it was good...presentation was nice. read more

The salmon salad w chimichurri was sooo tastey!! Great place for lunch or happy hour!

This place used to be decent. However I just paid $22 for some fries 4 shrimp on a piece of bread and a fountain soda. Please fix your portions. read more

We have been here three times and we love this place! Their street tacos are AMAZING we also enjoyed the shrimp burrito and fried fish tacos

tl;dr - save your money and go elsewhere. we've been going to slapfish since they opened the Holly location in 2017 and then almost exclusively at the Winrock location when that opened. We've probably had over 30 meals there, and have seen their menu evolve. We've always loved it for the California seafood vibe that we missed living in NM, and thought they held the top spot in Albuquerque for fresh coastal low-key seafood. our recent experiences here have steadily declined in the last 9 months but we suspended judgement knowing some places were really struggling after the pandemic and inflation, however our meal last night was the final straw. general complaints: 1. they started using the Level Up app for loyalty and have a placard at the order counter encouraging its use. From the first day it was installed the staff really didn't know how to use it, and the scanner at the first POS station hasn't worked. But the first POS station is where they always take your order unless it's busy and they're staffing both stations. We finally wised up and tell them we have the app so the cashier can log out of the first POS station and move to the second station with the functioning scanner. Seriously- they haven't fixed this in a year??? 2. many track light fixtures aren't working and they replaced some light fixture lamps with a cool color temp, so the space feels cold. really bad vibe for a seafood place. 3. no more sliced lemon by the water. 4. tiny plastic cups for water. the meal: we ordered a double fish and chips and a grilled fish salad to dine in, we sat down at a table. 1. the meal arrived in a large brown bag. we told them it was for here, not to go. they took it back and we heard discussion for a couple minutes behind the counter. after a couple minutes the server comes back with our food in the to go containers and sets it on the table. ugh ok. 2. we ordered the salad with grilled hoki but the kitchen substituted cod because they were out. the server told us the cashier was supposed to tell customers. i guess they couldn't be bothered to slap a temporary "out of hoki" sign on the menu? 3. the salad was undressed and had A LOT of spinach and a tiny cup of dressing- i guess we're supposed to dress and mix the salad at the table in a paper to go container with our plastic fork? 4. the fish and chips...sigh. the fish was extremely greasy, as in a puddle of grease in the to go container. gross. the fish was tough and the texture was as if it was refrozen. gross. the french fries were underwhelming and missing the old bay seasoning that they've always generously sprinkled on. 5. at the time of our order, ours was the only order in the restaurant. there was one other couple in the restaurant already eating when we sat down. zero excuse for not fixing the to go/dine in screwup properly and for rushing out the fish and chips and not letting it drain. i was curious and looked into it - turns out slapfish ownership changed in July 2022, the original chef/owner sold his portion to an investment group. as far as i can tell, most of the formerly franchised locations are now owned by that investment group, including both in New Mexico. i feel like this explains it all - totally absent management who don't really care. the place feels like they're squeezing pennies and not taking care of the fundamentals now. read more

So sad to give a low score, the place is super clean, service was great, very friendly staff and courteous... but the new menu, I guess not as new as I thought, they told me it changed back in June, I though I had been here before then but I guess not, the new menu is terrible, it went from a 5 to a 0, I use to love the food here, but now it's awful, the fish and fries had no flavor, there was no dipping sauces like they use to have, the lobster sandwich was so dull, no flavor, the chowder fries are not the same, truffle parm tots smell like old fish oil and tested worse than the tater tots from sonic... I'm not even sure what happened, how it would be so good and now it's so bad, while we were here, for almost 40 minutes, there was only 2 other people, I guess I'm late to find out it has gotten worse then ever, sad times, I wish them the best because the service was excellent, I can't come back (I forgot to mention they don't have the lobster taquitos either). read more

I really didn't know what to expect from Slap Fish. I have friends that have gone so I had to check it out myself. I was impressed. Food was tasty and waitstaff was very knowledgeable of what they serve up and a great variety of drinks. I really enjoyed the food we had and will be back to try some more. read more

When we walked in we were greeted by a man who was able to explain everything to us in detail and guide us in our ordering. Everything sounded so yummy it was a difficult decision for all of us. Very disappointed :(. I rarely do restaurant reviews, as a worker in the industry myself, I feel sometimes that people can be unfair/biased. I had really high hopes for this place, it's not often you find somewhere in Albuquerque that can make seafood in a fast takeout style way. I ordered the Lobster roll, which costs a cool $25, I was expecting a huge roll packed with lobster, however I received very little on a roll that was about 4x2 inches. The lobster was delicious, but for $25 you would expect more. My brother had the fish and chips, the fish was kind stringy unfortunately. Lastly the chowder fries, they had no flavor, not even really that rich flavor you expect from chowder. I will say however, that the Fish Taco was excellent. but 4 items for $53 just didn't live up to my expectations. I don't mind paying for quality, but I do mind paying for overpriced, flavorless food. Sorry Slapfish. read more

Fish are really fresh. Great food! If they have TV for watching sports, that will be perfect to hang out.

I love slap fish because they are consistently good. (Which is very hard to find in Abq.) the staff is always super friendly, gives great recommendations, and doesn't make you feel like you are bugging. Both locations are very clean which is always a plus for me. They have a great menu selection and everything I have tried tastes delicious. It's a 10/10 for me and a place you definitely need to try if you haven't already: read more

Urban seafood. Ordered the Lobster roll, $35. Adequate, but not for the price. NM can do better.

Get out of here!!! A much needed joint in our world. It isn't a fast-food style seafood shop nor is it a high-end seafood restaurant. This place is clean, the staff are friendly, the menu is self-explanatory, the food was out of this world! How come I never heard of this place? Their soda drinks are amazing, the fresh fish is fresh. All of them. My family and I fell in love with it on our drive to AZ. Albuquerque, you are fortunate to have this place in your city. read more

Recently came here for the first time and right off the bat it stuck out how friendly and helpful the staff were. On top of that, the food was delicious. I had the lobster roll, house made chips and fried pickles. Freshly made, awesome flavor and filling. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I Went to the bathroom and my food was tossed away I wasn't done eating but I did not say anything because the fish and chips was very mushy and had no flavor with the batter (should have gotten the beer batter) or the fish I paid 14.00 American dollars for something that I could have went to long John silver for other than that the sodas are amazingly delicious!! read more

The two things you don't screw with is BBQ sauce and Tarter Sauce. They have the hands fown WORST Tarter Sauce ever EVER. WE won't order there anymore because of the tarter sauce, coleslaw and a bunch of other little things. If you like regular tarter sauce DON'T go here, you will be so dissapointed. The fish is great . To bad, trying to completely get off track from the flavor of tarter sauce. What they should do is have real tarter sauce like McDonalds and call their homemade crap In-Tater sauce science experiment that went bad. We have been there several times and ordered doordash several time only to be grossly dissapointed. Could have be a place that was praised. read more

Had the chowder fries and fish taco. Fish was very strong fish flavored... worse than Long John silvers. Upcharge for beer batter. Batter was also very fishy. Chowder fries were not crisp at all. The chowder had a few taters and zero clams. Flavor from the chowder was non-existent. Worse than white gravy. didn't even taste of milk or cream. We loved Slapfish Northside. We are no longer slapfish customers. read more

I dined at this Uptown location shortly after it first opened and was so very pleased with the quality, service, and taste. I've since been 3 more times and it has sadly deteriorated. On all 3 occasions we have had an issue - the cashier was unfriendly, every table was dIrty and there was nowhere to sit, the octopus "special" was way overcooked, our fries were burnt. After speaking to the manager/owner, I was told he'd "get me next time." I'm pretty bummed about the decline, so I will no longer bring friends and family that visit from out of town. read more

Tried this place for the first time. The fish was pretty good but also pretty greasy. I used paper towels to soak some of it up. Tasted great though. The fries were cold and soggy and about half of them were overcooked. I bought the bigger size of the fish and chips and got it to go. The packaging to go was about the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The fries were on a tray with the fish laying on top of them and the tray was just sitting in the bag with no cover or anything on it. So the grease from the fish ruined the fries. Tarter sauce? It came with one tiny little cup of it. I needed at least 4 of those. How are you going to serve someone fish portions that big (which was nice) and give next to no tarter sauce?! As far as the packaging goes, fish needs to go in a Styrofoam container, fries need to go in another one and maybe wrap both in foil. read more

First time food was good But second time we were not happy with food and explained to mgmt so they cld do better for other customers. They were rude when we were explaining to them but said they wld text a gift card for future use which we did not expect but thought how nice. Well no gift card - no surprise. They just wanted to get rid of us. I agree it is overpriced which doesn't bother us but customer satisfaction is not their priority. I will never come here again read more

Best fish tacos for a chain restaurant ever. The best deal is definitely the ultt fish taco with tilapia, but I love the barramundi when they have it for the upcharge, and street tacos on Tuesday when it's bogo free is the bomb. They have better oysters and fresher than most seafood joints I go to. And the Louisiana Cajun Chef hot sauce is my favorite. It's better than Slapfish's own hot sauces. read more

We were very excited to have a closer Slapfish location that is closer to home. We visited on day 3 of being open, before grand opening so it was fairly empty at 2 in the afternoon. Overall the food was as expected. I gave four instead of five stars for two reasons. First, the time between ordering receiving the food was long. Secondly, we ordered a bowl with "only rice and talapia" and it was served with a green sauce on it so it had to be remade. The second order of white rice came back undercooked and hard. Aside from that, this will probably be great as soon as all the opening kinks get worked out. In regards to price, it was $80 for four meals and two beers, no other drinks. My daughter did order the lobster grilled cheese which she thought was worth every bit of the $15. My husband and I ordered the ultimate fish tacos and upgraded to beer battered so that added $4. Personally I like the smaller street fish taco more so I won't order the ultimate again. read more
