First time checking Slain out, on reco of my hair stylist. I take pretty good care of my nails (hands & feet) and have had them butchered at other salons so I'm generally wary of nail salons and avoid them. I booked a regular pedicure more as a pampering day and was initially reserved with Von but was switched to Sarah an hour before. The fellow I spoke with by phone was helpful and upbeat. I was seen on time even though they were understandably busy on a Saturday morning. SARAH was a total STAR! She has a warm and candid manner that I really appreciate. Her methods are gentle yet super thorough and conscientious. I got what is probably the best pedicure of my life, i will definitely book with her again. During my visit I wound up chatting with the customers on each side and the other technicians. I inquired about options for my nails (hands) and everyone was so friendly and helpful including Sarah and her coworker Aneesa. I'm looking forward to my next visit! read more

I had the pleasure of getting Kaylee today, lemme just say she did such an amazing job!!! I loooove the shape it is literally perfect. I love that she took her time and didn't rush and she checked multiple times to make sure my shape was right. She wasn't rough on my nails i felt no pain. The best experience i have had so far She was so bubbly, easy to talk to, professional, and gives QUALITY. Hell yeah I am 1000 satisfied!! Definitely coming baaaack. After going down a rabbit hole on Instagram and obsessing over this nail salon I finally made myself an appointment! I haven't gotten my nails done in five years. I'm from the Bay Area and I had a place I went to religiously there. This is the beet nail salon I've ever been to. I got a structured gel manicure and nail art. Oahn was so cool, made me feel hella comfortable and gave me the sickest nails I've had to date. I got really cool 70s nails! Rose was awesome! My daughter and I came in for manicures, me for acrylic fill and my daughter for a dip mani. My acrylics (done at another salon) honestly looked like a 12-year old had done them, and I didn't even have to ask Rose to fix all of the unevenness and adhesion problems. She identified everything immediately and took painstaking time to make them look beautiful (and useable!). My daughter's dip was exactly what she wanted too. We'll be back for sure! read more

Senthia at Slain Studios is incredible, and I cannot recommend her or this place enough. I'm sure it won't be long before this page is full of 5 star reviews. Slain Studios is very clean, cool, comfy, and modern, and I can tell they don't hire people who are anything less than true nail artists. As you can see from the photos, my mis-matched aprés set is immaculate. Booking with Senthia is easy via the Style Seat app which makes payment and tip super easy too because the app keeps your card on file. There is a high demand for appointments, so make sure you book well in advance. They made sure I was comfortable and brought me water, etc. and made me feel very welcome. Their color selection is also on point, and I never felt rushed during the appointment as I have at other studios. Plus, the pricing is totally reasonable for the quality of work. I'm really happy with the results, and I will be back soon! read more

Love the look of the place ! Very young feeling but do NOT book with ERIKA . She's slow, doesn't seem to really know what she's doing. I normally get manicures and pedicures but both times I just called off the pedi because she spent soooo much time on my gel manicures. 2 hrs to be exact... both times. I was uncomfortable when she was taking the gel off with the electrical drill, when she was cutting my cuticles just the entire experience... Then she kept saying "See not so many layers is better" and I'm liking at her like LADY I'm not gon say nothing because it's already been 1 hour and 30 minutes. Took another 30-45 mins for the French tip... mind you I had to stand up constantly because I'm tall and my legs were falling asleep .. She didn't even want to waive the French tip style fee after not only being late for our appointment but being late and untimely TWICE! Getting manis and pedis are therapeutic for me and she was the COMPLETE opposite .... Big no for me . & y'all are a bit expensive too... money ain't the issue the principle is big tho! read more

So this was my first and last visit I'll make to this nail salon, I found them on Instagram as the work on their looks amazing so I made an appointment for an acrylic set to get an ombré stiletto set, the individual that came up for the appointment is named ROSE, completely rude, dry, beware of any appointments With her, does not greet and seemed to be miserable working, I had sat at her station, she does not have manners, I showed her a picture of the ombré nails that I'd wanted, she stated she doesn't do those, ok that was fine so I was going to go for just a simple short stiletto pointy style, well once she styled a nail, it looked more of a round nail rather stiletto pointy, at this point I was just disappointed, I told her to just make them short squared and you can tell she was upset, well she didn't bother fixing the round nail she made and told me it was too late, so at that point I was ready to walk out and told her she was being rude, She literally said it's my fault because I'm undecisive and that I was a bad client, who says this to customers, this made me completely upset until a gal named Camille I believe she is an angel she came to try and resolve the issue, and thanks to her rose fixed my nail, I dont know why this lady even has clients, thanks to her never coming back to this place worse experience, again save your time and do not book with Rose below is her photo read more

Had an acrylic fill with Camille not realizing Apres is the new standard She was amazing, made me feel welcomed and at ease in a new environment. Her attention to detail, knowledge and expertise, and brut talent for her craft shines like no other. Really looking forward to soaking off the acrylics and trying Apres, Camille took time to educate me on the technique which I greatly appreciate. So happy to find a reliable salon, I had my nails done once with Buddha before he opened Slain. Not at all surprised by the talent he was able to attract at his new spot! read more

I'm giving this place a 2 because I was really pleased with my nails and how nice everyone was. Other than that, I got a pedicure from one of the girls there (don't remember the name) not only was she distracted by her personal issues, but she didn't look representable in the slightest bit, and it was probably THE worst pedicure I have ever received in my entire life. On top of all that, I'm 5'2 with shorter legs, and my back in those chairs was absolutely killing me. Her massage hurt my feet because she didn't know what she was doing. I couldn't wait for it to stop. When I went to pay, the pedicure total was $35 plus tip. I about shat myself because here I am coming outta here with a messed up back, sore feet, a HORRIBLE paint job (I could've done better with my eyes shut) and now I'm out about $45. Mind you, they have no massage chairs, and you have to sit SO straight in those tiny little chairs they have, it's everything but relaxing. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: about 3 days after my pedicure, the polish on my 4th toe COMPLETELY came off. I mean not even a dot of that nail polish stayed on. Very, very disappointed with the entire service of my pedicure. Highly overpriced for someone who has not a clue what they're doing. I was looking for a one stop shop, and this place isn't it for me. Update: the nail polish on the exact nail, opposite foot, also just came off.... lol read more

I've never written a negative or impartial review before but my first experience at Slain left me feeling slighted. I was excited because Slain is in my neighborhood and from pics did amazing nail art. So I made an appointment for 9am the following day. I booked only a gel manicure because my nails were trashed from being gone a month traveling abroad. I arrived at 9am and there was no front desk person. The space was cool and everyone seemed busy and happy chatting. No one greeted me. I stood there for a few minutes before someone came behind the desk and asked if I had an appointment. Which I did but she seemed not so sure and asked who my manicurist was and I said I didn't know, this was my first time. She told me to sit in reception and my manicurist would come get me. 36 minutes later of waiting and being completely ignored a male manicurist asked what I was waiting for and if I had been taking care of. I told him I had an appointment for 9am and it's now 9:36am. He apologized and called over an available manicurist. The whole experience was awkward, my manicurist didn't speak to me the whole time, seemed annoyed with my presence and used a dirty glass of nail polish remover that had pink film around the edge. The male manicurist apologized again but I was ready to get up and walk out. My manicurist kept shoving my fingers around like I was a an impatient child. Everyone around me seemed to be having a great time but I was not. I paid full price (and it was expensive) and tipped. No one said goodbye. I just left feeling bummed out at the start of my day and now running late to another appointment. Slain is such a cool space and I believe the artists are really good at what they do, I really wanted to love it but my experience was disappointing. read more
