While I sat I browsed Yelp reviews and found that her reviews were pretty great, so I found myself lucky. She was so gentle but effective, so nice and personable and did a fantastic job. Love, love, loooooved my experience at Slain Nails! I had my structured gel manicure + design done by Caroline (@coquetteclawss) and she knocked it out of the park. This was the best set I've ever gotten, the design was literally perfect and exactly what I was looking for! The shape and feel of the structured gel was great, it felt strong with no lumps and she did some cuticle work and prep on me, so these lasted 3+ weeks! I will definitely be back (I have my next appointment booked), and I love that Crete is next door for a caffeine fix. I was debating if I should write a review, but honestly I was pretty bummed out with the result of my nails. I was looking forward to coming here since I've heard a lot of great things. Up until it got to the black design work, things were looking good. From a far it looked somewhat ok, but when you get closer you can see it gets a bit messy. I ended up having to fix the design myself as best as I could I also didn't realize until I got home that behind most of my nails there was overfill from the glue used to adhere my nails, which I tried to file off. I really appreciate that Chris was able to schedule me in for my services when everyone was basically completely booked and for everyone (Stacy & Vanessa) adapting to what I needed and working together to get me right when we found that my current work on my hands from another tech wasn't quality. The only thing I'd like to see from nail salons in general including Slain is engagement with the client during services. Was super stoked for my appointment and I really hate leaving this review but unfortunately my experience wasn't great. I originally booked with Von but then got switched over to Brianna. I booked for full set and nail art which is scheduled for 2 hours. I arrived a little bit earlier for my appointment which was at 3pm but didn't get seated until 3:15-3:20ish. I would have appreciated if someone told me that she was running late instead of waiting. Once getting started, we clarified the design I wanted which was sent the day prior as well. At first it seemed Brianna was taking her time then it seemed she started to rush. I mentioned to her about the design on my nails and she would tell me that she had it. Come to find out the design is missing from a few nails. Which is a little frustrating because I tried to tell her what she was missing. Nonetheless I said just add cherry to a couple other fingers, it's fine. I figured she purposely skipped on the design because she was running behind. I also only got one coat of color and one layer of top coat. The gel is already peeling off. My nails were left un filed, which rough ridges around the nails, a couple of nails are crooked, the acrylic and top coat residue is stuck underneath and around the nail bed. If she was running late I would have appreciated my appointment canceled or rescheduled than to receive the service I did. Von mentioned that I could come back and she would squeeze me in to fix it but I live 45 minutes away without traffic. It should have been done right the first time. read more

honestly everyone in there was great except for the woman who did my nails, Rosa N. She was so mean and rude i almost cried. the first thing i did was greet her and she abruptly said "go wash your hands" then there was a miscommunication, she thought i wanted a whole set of acrylics but i just wanted a fill and since i had made the appointment, 3 of my acrylics had fallen of i guess that's why she thought i wanted a whole new set. she told me she didn't have time for that because she had a trip and had to leave at 5 but i wasn't asking her to do that?? it was 2:50 btw. she would also pull on my hands and twist even though i was being so flexible but she wouldn't even ask me what to do. i had never been treated so horribly, i was trying so hard not to cry. she also made me feel bad because i didn't know what type of nail polish they put on me at the last place i had acrylics on. she told me i HAD to know and i was like im sorry but they didn't tell me and she laughed in my face like o was being so absurd i honestly don't know what i did or what i said that made her so mad or if she was just in a rush but i felt horribly. i would look around and all of the other workers seemed so nice and friendly i felt even worse that i didn't get one of them. seemed like a great place but had the worst experience, i had never complained but i had to because my sister was her next appointment after me, and she treated her just as bad. she was done with her by 4:50 btw, it's not like we were making her late, is she had a trip she shouldn't have accepted the appointments (we booked them online like a week before or so) read more

Been looking forward to trying this place and getting my nails done by Jasmine (saw her instagram page and liked her work). It's a cool spot, but maybe I'll try a different nail tech next time. I went in for dip nails (been getting dip on my natural long nails for a couple years now). I wanted a creamy French tip with flowers on a couple fingers (for my baby shower tomorrow). What I got was sheer/clear dip horribly painted over with gel and the flowers are not it. The finish product is super bumpy and has bubbles all over. The tech was rushing, station was a mess, didn't talk at all other than to ask for a picture of what I wanted, and made no eye contact. Now she's here at Slain so... so am I!!! Her prices are higher than some may be used to but her work warrants every dime plus the tip! Ms. Rose is so detailed when she does my pedicures. first off, my nails are cute so this isn't a bashing post but I did leave disappointed by my service, especially for the price. there was a few different things that left me kind of turned off by the spot. -I booked for 9am with Brianna, she showed up sometime between 9:05-10 which isn't too big of a deal but for a salon that makes you put a card down when booking so that they can charge you if you don't show up, I fully expect my nail tech to be ready to go on time. & if they aren't I'm expecting some kind of communication or atleast an apology on arrival, there was none of that just a "hey how's it going" when she got there. I had work and am also on a schedule. -she was gently when drilling my acrylic off, but when it came time to soak off the rest my acetone was warmed up so hot that I couldn't even rest my hand in the bowl. I mean it was HOT, like almost boiling, and when I told her it was too hot and i was gonna have to keep takjng my hand out every few seconds she just replied with that's fine..?? turned on a timer and walked off -I scheduled for a short set but was quite literally never asked what length I specifically wanted, genuinely never asked. after applying the tips I told her I was going to need to make them even shorter and she said okay I normally file them down a bit after so we'll just do it after I do your design. I've been getting my nails done for almost 10yrs and have neverrr waited till after the design to select my length, keep in mind I did just a basic french tip so there wasn't much choice in asking for them any shorter because it would have cut off the whole design she just sealed in with top coat. I work a job where nail length matters and I'm almost certain they will be too long for work, but ultimately have no choice but to hope and pray it works out at work. -she made it a point to show me her schedule and let me know she was fully booked for the day which was very obvious as the whole service felt rushed.. I did gel-x for the first time and was expecting more, I received no cuticle pushing or clipping, no filing of the tip after application, no blending of the tip near my cuticle, no buffing, literally just slapped a tip on with gel and then got to painting. -when it came to picking my color for my french tip, i assume they have no color swatches because i said yellow or orange and she just brought me 5 diff bottles of paint for me to open myself and look at the color on the brush and decide that way. maybe it's a Slain Studios thing for them, but again never in my life have I chosen a color that way and it left me with very little options. Overall my nails look good, but for $90 ($115 including my removal) the whole experience was lackluster and kind of frustrating, i thought it was obvious by my demeanor but maybe not because not once did the nail tech or receptionist ask me if i was happy with my service. I work for tips and haven't left a $0 tip on my nail services in years... but i couldn't bring myself to leave anything extra. I was really excited to try this salon but this experience definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. Hoping I can try again with someone else and actually leave happy. read more

I really liked the vibe of this studio upon entering. I booked an appointment for a one hour basic pedicure with any available technician and got booked with Rose. She began the appointment almost 15 minutes late and was done about 25 minutes later. I also noticed too late that she gave me the wrong color polish. It seems very misleading to advertise a one hour service when it's half the time. Unless, of course they're including the time you're sitting there waiting for your nails to dry. Not worth the $45. The coverage of the polish was also done very poorly in my opinion and it needed another coat. read more

Scheduled a new set with slain for the 15th of February at 10:30am , they randomly assigned me to jasmine. While I'm driving there I get a text from Chris that she's running 15min late I said fine, I get there and sit there wait for her until 11am she sends Chris to tell me 10min more min I wait it's 11:15min she's still not done she needs 10more minutes I said well I have work I can't wait longer , Chris tells me I will get 15% off if I reschedule with her which I did for Friday the 17th at 10:30am too. Got there at 10:35 she was still not ready waited till 11am that's when she was ready I didn't complain because I was like well she said last time she likes to take her time so I freed my day First I'm here for a new set she tells me how gel x is better and less painful (I never told her acrylics were painful to me) I let her do the gel x and it hurts like crazy , she proceeded by picking the wrong color based on the picture and put it all over my nails instead of letting me see if I like it so I told her that wasn't the color finally she had to remove it and picked the right color, then she's doing French on the picture it's a thin white top she does a huge white tip I tell her it's too big she kind of gets irritated and she finally lowered the white but it was still too huge from the picture . I will not go back because of terrible it is... and and the hair you're seeing on my nails is literally built under she never allowed me to go wash my hands before applying nail polish smh read more
