I am so grateful to have found Maria (aka @barriobabebeauty on instagram). Not only is she incredibly talented and endlessly creative, she is a genuine lovely person. I have enjoyed our at times therapeutic conversations while she creates wonderful art on my nails. It's also fun to sing along and vibe to the music from the '00s that's always playing. Maria is also incredibly considerate and accommodating to disabilities. I also appreciate her transparency regarding pricing as we discuss budgets prior to completing the nail sets, so neither of us feel uncomfortable with the anticipated costs. I am one of those people that never takes pictures of my nails, so I screenshot some of my sets on her profile to post with this review. We primarily do a structured gel nail set with some nail art. My nails tend to last 3-5 weeks with little to no lifting, which is a huge win for me! This is the best nail salon I have ever gone to. They're not just nail technicians - they're freaking amazing artists. I always get complimented on how gorgeous my nails are and I actually look forward to my appointments (which says a lot since I'm oddly an introvert who hates human interactions). It is also the first salon I have made sure to schedule regular 2-3 week appointments (oftentimes I'll only get my nails done when I have a work conference where I have to see people). That says a LOT about this place because I rarely keep up with my nails. I usually see the owner, Summer, for my gel manicures and pedicures - as well as eyebrow waxes. She's got a great vibe, wonderful to talk to, and does such a great job running the whole place. Absolutely adore her and think the world of this woman! The actual nail salon building is great. It's very homey as others have said. They also showcase local artists and products you can get including having thrifted clothing for sale, which is so wonderful. Parking is limited but I always found a spot no issues. Also, they do not take walk ins but I get it - it's because they're all fully booked because they are all that good! This is the place to get your nails done if you really love a high quality manicure experience. The space has a casual, almost homey feel to it, but the work done is next level professional. I've gotten a set of press ons and a gel extension manicure and loved them both. I haven't found better quality in Phoenix. I recommend following Stash House on Instagram to see their artists and decide who vibes with your style. I absolutely love Danielle (@ButterflyVillainLlc) but everyone here does cool work. Booking is easy, prices run about average for these kinds of services in Phoenix, and the space takes safety precautions. Nova is such a vibe, and extremely talented! We had good, organic conversation, and her playlist took me back to highschool - meaning the tunes were doing what they were suppose to do! The level of detail she puts into her work is amazing! She took her time to ensure every single nail matched the other - from the shape, to the length, to the actual design. My almond shape...perfection, like text book (pics don't do them justice honestly) - not to mention the design...! Stash House is a totally unique nail salon! I've never been anywhere like it! It doesn't have a normal spa vibe - I feel more like I'm in a hipster coffee shop that smells like nail polish. You book directly with your nail tech (you can find their information on @stashhouseaz instagram). I think it's cool that everyone manages their own clients so they really have a vested interest in doing high quality work. It seems like everyone has their own styles and specialties, but the nail art and creativity are top notch! I've seen two different techs and really dig Nova's work. I moved to Phoenix recently and had to break up with my other nail lady because she's far far away (in Gilbert lol). I've tried a few other nail places nearby but the manicures have been subpar. So thankful I found Stash House and Nova! She does careful, steady work and pays close attention to the cuticles so your polish doesn't bleed. I'm grateful for her patience and thorough nature. The worst: The gel manicure is promoted as having a "2-week guarantee" but has been the worst quality I've even had... seriously. My first gel polish cracked on two nails at day 5. I let the owner know immediately. At my next appt (exactly two weeks from the prior), she said the UV light was going bad and has a new one. Said I wouldn't have those same issues. No discount, or anything for the "guarantee." Now, on day 7 of the second manicure, same cracking is occurring. I'm very disappointed with the quality and even more disheartened that a "guarantee" is advertised but doesn't actually mean anything. There are three parking spots total, so that is rough. Icing on the cake: My first appt the owner was running behind by 30 minutes and my second appt, she asked me to come 6 hours later and said "I won't charge you for moving the appt"... that is a little insulting considering I did not ask for the appt to be moved from 10am to 3:30... I'm doing it to accommodate you. As much as I want to, I cannot recommend this place. If the quality was better, I could deal with the terrible parking and flaking scheduling. This is not your traditional nail salon!! Stash House is basically an open space for artists to do their own work and they name their own price. All the nail techs have different specializations so the best tech for you may be different from mine. It is also appointment only and you have to book directly with your chosen artist. I stumbled upon this place on Instagram (@stashhouseaz). I highly recommend looking on their Instagram page for more information on the artists' preferred method of booking, service quotes, and policies (i.e. deposits, late fees, no show fees, etc). Do your research beforehand so there will be no surprises leading up to your visit. The space itself is very clean inside but it can be difficult to find parking. The salon is hidden behind a restaurant and their parking spaces are reserved. I always get lucky and find a free spot behind the salon, but just be aware you might have to park a little further away. As with any nail salon, it can be hit or miss depending on the nail tech. The first time I got my nails done here I didn't like the results. The second time around, I made sure to book a different artist who specializes in precision shapes. The second time was wayyy better, probably my favorite set to date! I got black chrome coffin nails and I am obsessed. This set looks different depending on the lighting, which I love! My biggest complaint is that the artists are always booked up, you have to plan almost a month (or more) in advance just to schedule an appointment. I understand that it's not their fault; they're just super busy because they're one of the best salons in the area. But it's unfortunate that I am not able to come here as often because of it. Overall, I really like this nail salon and I would recommend it to anyone. They can do what most nail salons can't. I truly believe with the right artist, they can make any vision come to life. This places stands alone amongst all other nail salons. Especially all other nail shops in Phoenix. Each nail artist has their own booking methods, so a bit of research is required before booking. I recommend seeing what services each artist offers & then make a decision based on their highlights & your current nail needs. I chose Leib because of his creativity with gems, color & hand painting techniques. He has NEVER disappointed. The shape, the color, the length is ALWAYS on point & he has always left me with beautifully painted nail. I utilize the Apres system for added length while avoiding acrylics, so I appreciate him offering this service. The salon itself is chill, there is the typical salon gossip banter between the artists, but nothing serious, just kinda goofy & par for the course & quite funny if you really pay attention. The stations are individually sectioned off, giving you a bit more room than most nail salons. I appreciate each artists space being decorated with their own unique esthetic. Pricing is good, for the quality. & it's QUALITY. So expect to pay for it. When people complain about the prices here but then get thick, wavy acrylics elsewhere "on the low-low" all I can do is roll my eyes. The technicians here are ARTISTS. Not just a nail tech with certifications. They have genuinely creative individuals cranking out the best nails in Arizona. I spent near 4 hours in this salon for my nails to look like this...mind you I spent 100$ + 10$ tip. I could have gone anywhere else and paid half the price for better looking nails. I texted the artist after my nails were done and said, "I really didn't want you to stay later than it already was (7pm) but I really don't like the way my nails turned out, could you possibly redo them tomorrow if you have time". She said yes. Got me in the next day to take off the "design" which was a simple French manicure ombre look that I wanted and I told her I wanted them short. I asked her if she would refund me for the 10$ design and She stated that most people would charge me for a polish change of 25$ and she's not going to do that- which they wouldn't bc if they messed up they would comp the mail change for free. And that she also wouldn't refund me my 10$ for the "design" I paid for because I picked out the nude color and she already sealed them and I left without saying anything. The nude color wasn't the problem. The problem was she didn't know how to do a simple French manicure. And she changed the nails to a simple pink/mauve color, so in the end I never got the design I paid for.... I also asked her to do square nails and she gave me a round square shape and none of the nails were the same shape or size. do not go to Sara, she has less than 1 year of experience and does not know what she's doing. read more

Yes, yes yes! So glad I found this place and Ale. I'm new to Phoenix and was looking online for a nearby nail place. Came across Stash House and followed the salon and some of its nail artists on instagram. After seeing Ale's awesome work for a few weeks on instagram I decided to make an appointment. Figured would be nice to get my nails done for the holidays and that they'd last longer since I had some time off work. I texted Ale and set up a Friday appointment. The place is so cute, they put alot of work into a cool, older building. Any place that has Prince AND Mayte on the walls gets my vote. Ale is so sweet and after discussing a regular mani I decided to try my first gel mani. It's more expensive, of course, but man my nails look amazing. I went for a more oval shaped nail for the first time and I'm so glad I did. I had her do two accent nails for another $5. I'm not sure how often I'll be able to swing a gel mani, but this won't be my last. It's been a week now and my nails are still perfect. Ca$h is king, much appreciated by the nail artists. She patiently listened to be gripe about my last HORRIBLE manicure (at another spa) and reassured me that the damage can be repaired. She took her time, was attentive and thorough with the job she did. My nails are beautifully done. I'm happy about my cuticles (no cutting) to the nail tip. Update on my review I forgot to do. When I was getting my nails done they pretty much destroyed me over how I felt about the service walking in. My nails were good but everyone's attitude was so bad I literally left feeling life I wasted my money. The guy I got my nails done pretty much made me feel so bad after my negative comment about the service, that I ended up tipping him way more than 20% just to get a thank you out of him and not seen like a mean Karen or whatever. I work on service, I bartend, and I usually want to be treated nice after dealing with rude people all day, but no, still had to deal with rude people. I'm giving it 2 stars because my nails were good but if you're expecting great quality service this is absolutely not the place to go to:) read more

I was just cancelled on for the second time on a separate appt by one of the artists (the same one that cancelled last time) with another bs excuse. I made this appt months ago because he is extremely difficult to get in with. Last time i made an appt he did the same thing....THE DAY OF! Not even an hour before my appt which he did again today. I get things happen but not two appts six months apart. This is an obvious pattern. Its a shame because the nails here are beautiful but my time is valuable and my schedule was cleared for this for a second time MONTHS IN ADVANCE. I found this site on instagram. The instructions to make an appointment were less than straight forward and stated you needed sometime of payment app, Zelle, Cashpay, etc. so I set up a Zelle account. When I booked an appointment it asked for CC information and not the Zelle information. I received an email after booking the appointment saying my card was logged in with Square. I sent a polite text saying that I had booked an appt and hoped the $25 came through. The nail tech "Livingnailgirl" Olivia, asked how the money was sent. I told her I got an email saying the card was linked to Square and I thought that the $25 was paid through Square. Olivia replied back "It's separate. The card is for cancellation policies. Ill send screen shot of message explaining." The screen shot she sent was horrible and you couldn't even read it. I sent a text back and said whatever the $25 was for was fine, and I was just trying to make an appointment, just tell me what you need from me... The next text from Olivia read: "I'm sorry but I've explained several times how to do the deposit. I'm sorry but i think you will be a better fit with a tech who doesn't have deposits. Please choose another tech to book with. This appointment will be declined" So as I am trying to work my way through her directions, she sends the rude text and then I get an email saying the appointment had been cancelled. I guess Olivia knows more than us all when it comes to electronic payments and deposits and doesn't want to give anyone a little extra time and/or help to understand at her level. She must be so busy she doesn't need new clients or extra work. Just because your directions on payments, deposits, etc. are clear to you, does not mean they are clear to anyone else. And a crappy screen shot does not make for clear directions. Very rude, very short, better than thou attitude...wouldn't give my money to her or her salon. I did receive follow up from the owner of the salon who said " sorry for the miscommunication".., there was NO miscommunication whatsoever, the nail tech obviously has no patience and didn't want to help and found it much easier to just cancel my appointment. The owner also said she is trying to re-introduce the appointment only type nail salon and not the walk in and wait for an appointment nail salon. That is great but you better rent space to people that have some patience and are willing to help out new, would be customers. Your rude mail tech lost lost this customer.., TERRIBLE customer service Olivia... Reply to Summer O: You don't seem to get it, I left the bad review because your artist is rude and canceled an appointment just because I asked questions about her payment policy and how confusing it was. You keep rambling on about me being upset about not being able to see an artist. It was that artist's fault, not mine, that I didn't come to your salon.
