It was my first visit to the salon... to any salon in over 5 years. I'm limited physically, and work from home, so Id just been dumping fashion color dye on my head and hacking off my own hair periodically following "Brad Mondo" tutoials. I walked in with total trainwreckery on my head, with what I thought was an impossible ask for Lydia. I really wanted her to magically turn my "sea hag" faded teal and green bedraggled lower back natural curls with 5" of grey roots (that I couldnt keep up) with silver, and bring back my bouncy curls. Not an easy ask, because I didnt want heavy bleach due to perimenopusal hair dryness, and had a veeery limited budget to play with. I even had a backup plan, because I was SO SURE a Silver that could grow into my natural color just would not be an option. Lydia took one look at me and had a plan. I dont think either of us were sure it would work, but she's brilliant and has 18+ years experience and a foundation in color theory, so we took a chance that dying my green hair hot pink would take me to a silvery tone. It worked! The woman pulled off a miracle on my head! I adore my lush silvery locks, with a bit of an oilslick tone of faded denim blues and violets that shimmer in the sun. My hair is so much healthier, and I can literally pull off a silk sleep bonnet, spritz with rosemart water, add a bit of hair oil and shake my curls into place. And amazingly enough, she managed under budget! If youre looking for a stylist/colorist/curly hair specialist you really cannot go wrong with Lydia! am LOVING my locks, again! Thank you, Lydia!!! I've been going to D'Lisa for so long, I just assumed I had written a review. This is a lovely salon, located inside Muse Apartments. There's dedicated parking spaces for those going into the salon and a nice atmosphere inside when you are waiting for your appointment. The part I love about going to D'Lisa for waxing is that she moves quickly and doesn't leave time to even process any pain. She doesn't waste any time getting to the business of waxing, so I can make an appointment that fits a lunch and return to work after. The place is so clean! When you need to use one of their pens, they make you put it in another pile marked as dirty and they sanitize it every single use. When I went there around 5:15 PM, I was the only customer. My hairdresser, Nadine, said they only have around four customers at a time. I felt very safe when I went there. As for the haircut, Nadine was amazing! Held great conversations, very open - she's a joy to speak with. She is also very knowledgeable. 60% of my hair is burned and I told her I want her to take out 100% of the burned hair and for it to look healthy; she was able to deliver! I visit this salon for haircuts and hair color and I see Candis Allyn. I've been to several other hair salons and seen other stylists, and I have to say that Candis Allyn does the best job at creating a naturally blonde look. She was able to work around my other old balayage and highlights flawlessly. She works with the natural pattern of my hair to cut it ina way that frames my face and works with my natural wave. This review is for my experience with the nail lady - Leticia. As a first time customer for nails apparently I didn't schedule the appointment correctly. Which now that I know the process yes I didn't add gel removal. Instead of Leticia telling me that she internalized and didn't talk much with me. It was awkward and honestly the whole time I was telling myself this is the last time. I really like this salon and it is walking distance from my place and love getting waxed by the owner. When all was said and done I tipped her well 20% and decided to rise about it all. My French manicure that the did though developed this bubble looking air pockets within a few days. Some are really large and honestly this manicure didn't last as long as the other ones I have gotten in the past. Do not go to this overpriced salon that has no regard for their clients wishes They do not stand behind their services. Channel could not give my daughter the wash and go cut that does not require blow drying and curling for an hour or more, color and highlights (a full balayage) that she guaranteed her she could do in one appointment. She did not cut the hair, only used thinning scissors on her extremely thick, wavy long hair. Fail on the cut! Her hair length and layers look the same as when she walked into that salon. She was supposed to color the hair a rich brown to match her eyebrows. Fail on the color! The color looks the same as before channel dyed it brown. It actually looks lighter brown. The full Balayage highlights were supposed to be blonde all over highlights that would show on naturally air dried hair. Big fail! When I looked at her hair I asked Channel if she still had to do the balyage because i could not see one highlight on her head. Channel than picked up my daughter's hair to show me the couple of clumpy stripes on the underside of my daughters hair. She (channel) decided to hide the blond highlights on the underside of her very thick hair. These "highlights" are only visible if you curl the hair outward, or if you lift the hair to look under the top length(supposed to be long layers). To make things even worse the highlights are very orange. Channel knew that my daughter does not curl her hair very often and that she wanted a wash and go style. My daughter,17, wanted her hair to look professional and paid almost $300.00. She thought that this salon would help her achieve the look she wanted. Instead she has been crying and so upset that she trusted this stylist and salon, she feels she wasted her money on hair that looks worse than when she went there. My daughter let channel know after she got home and could actually look at her hair, that this is not what she had asked for. The brown had red, the highlights are more orange than blond. The haircut was not long layers with curtain bangs. Channel told her that she would re-dye the brown and would venmo her the tip back. So she knew that she had done shoddy work if she was going to do that. However when my daughter asked her to please fix the highlights and to cut it the way she asked her to, channel was shown several pictures of what she wanted before the appointment, channel became very rude and said she would not do anything for her. Channel lied about her abilities, she lied about what she did to her hair. She lied about telling my daughter that it would take several appointments, she said she could do it in 3-4 hours. I contacted the owner D'Lisa to see if she could help make things right. She said No. She said that channel was a professional and always does a great job. She was not willing to do anything to fix my daughters hair and would not even consider doing anything at all to help fix what her stylist did. The cut, color and highlights that my daughter received could have been done at any budget salon or at home Do not go to this salon!! They do not stand behind their work and take advantage of a teenage girl just to make a buck off people who trust them to be reputable and honest by doing what was promised. My daughter was not rude or disrespectful to channel. She is a very quiet girl that does not like to make waves. She only wants what she paid for and promised by this hairdresser. We all expect to be treated fairly, to get the service that we pay for, and not have to go back and beg someone to fix what they screwed up. Because she is young should my daughter have to be ripped off by this overpriced, unskilled, beauty school reject that has her not wanting to leave the the house because she thinks she looks so bad. She should not have to go through this crap because channel failed to do her job correctly and the owner, D'Lisa, does not stand behind her customers by insisting the service is performed as the customer wants it. I will try to add pictures of her hair before the appointment and after as well as one or two of the desired style. This is not a good salon! They lie, deceive, and take advantage of people. The owner is just as bad and condones this by not helping the customer when there are mistakes by the stylist. Very unethical. Very unprofessional. Stay away from this place, they do not deserve your business. Dli will come back with pictures of her hair after channel spent over an hour curling it. She wanted a wash and go style because she does not have time in the morning to spend over an hour curling her hair so the hidden "highlights" can be seen. Very unprofessional.
