I came in about a month ago to see Nicole. I just moved to this area and, up until then, hadn't found a great hair person. However, I wanted to take my hair from blond to a chocolate brown and didn't want to risk it at a generic SuperCuts (although that would've been cheaper, I'm sure). Everyone was extremely welcoming and I was offered water/coffee/etc immediately upon being seated. The coffee was delicious, by the way! And then over the next couple hours Nicole took my over-highlighted blonde hair to a beautiful chocolate brown that was the EXACT color I'd been picturing in my mind. Swank Salon is happy hour for me and my hair! Heather has been doing a fabulous job coloring and cutting my hair for more than 7 years. She found the most beautiful color for me that makes my eyes pop. I am always getting compliments on the color and cut. She always makes sure she is doing your hair the way you want but offers great suggestions when you aren't sure. I always feel safe in her hands and have a big smile on my face when I leave. Swank Salon has a great vibe. Everyone there is friendly and yes, it is true, they offer you wine (nice after a long day at the office). It is not the typical snobby salon environment at all. Swank Salon is located in the executive towers, which it clearly states on the website, but I didnt pay attention. So be warned, if you're pregnant and absent- minded, like me, it's IN the apartment/condo building :) The salon itself is clean, small, unpretentious. I like it that way personally, because I don't like busy- it means hurry up and get this person out of my chair (sometimes). My stylist was Nicole, based on the reviews and one particular reviewer who I sought out to answer more directly about her ( which was so nice, btw). She greeted me and sat me down. I explained that I wanted bright blonde. Brought in pictures of the color and cut and she went to work. She was very sweet- asked me about my life, I asked about hers... down to earth kinda girl. Always asked if I was comfortable and needed anything, which was very nice since my pregnant self usually isnt. Just a quick fyi note, she didn't have me process the color under heat until the last five minutes which I like. It's no big deal when it happens, but I dont like the breakage that I get under heat. After foils were out, she began the cut, which didnt take long. She blew it dry and I could tell I loved the cut but was a little worried the blonde wasnt bright enough. I never can tell in the salon. As it got styled, I felt more and more happy with it. Left with what I thought was a wonderful highlight and best cut I've gotten in years. When I got home and ran my fingers through it, parted it where I usually do, I noticed then in my lighting it wasnt exactly what I asked for. Based on that, I would've given 4 stars. But I called back later and explained to Nicole my thought. She apologized and asked when I could come in to add some more highlights. The next day, she fit me in to her schedule, put in a ton more highlights on the top. I processed while she finished up another client. After she dried it, it was one of those "Aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwhhhh" angelic singing moments. . I was so happy with the look. I couldnt stop looking in the mirror the next day. And I dont care how vain it sounds, because lookin in the mirror while pregnant and your body is growing at rapid speed and ENJoYING the reflection is comforting. Based on her willingness to satisfy the customer and the wonderful job she did on my hair, 5 stars. So thank you Nicole for my new reflection. Cant wait to go back! read more

I give the Swank Salon 2 stars for its fancy look, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff. However, when it comes to hair cut, it is not worth the money. With the price of $45 haircut (include blow dry), I expected that they do modern cutting style (point cutting technique) that provide your hair a seamless look. I was shocked when the hair stylist started layer my hair with the old cutting technique that now only used in those cheap salons where the cutters don't have the current technique training/education. It was such a disappointment for me. My layers looked broken and chopping. I had to go to go to another salon to have it fixed. Though everyone in this salon is nice, I don't want to come back because I can get a nicer hair cut with the same price or a so so hair cut with half the price. read more

Swank Salon changed my life and the way I perceived the salon industry. Location: It's a beautiful establishment, located in a nice part of the business district of Phoenix. Parking has never been an issue. The Salon: Modern, well-kept. Clean. And, definitely a swanky decor. The Wait: NONE! Never in my life have I been to a salon where they are actually on schedule. All the stylists are respectful of your time and are able to see you on the dot or within a couple minutes of your appointment time. (No more 1-hour/2-hour wait! Can I get an Amen?! Lol) Appointments: Easy. You can just schedule online. No calling and hunting down anyone. You can book months in advance, so it's hassle-free. And, my stylist goes the extra mile and texts a friendly reminder the day before, which is nice in the event you get busy and you can't even remember what day it is. The Staff: Friendly and kind. They always greet customers the moment they walk in. They always have a good time with each other, but keep it professional. Services: They work with all hair types (white, black, etc) and cater to both men and women. They also have a nail salon, if you want to get it all in one spot. The Final Product: I can only speak from my experience with Bree, one of the stylists, but she ALWAYS does a good job. She only takes an hour to 90 minutes or 2 max and always makes my hair cute, from presses and perms.
